Of course the US etc are opposed to the aid to the 'rebel held territory' going through Syria, it will make it harder to try and starve the majority of the Syrian population into revolt against its democratically elected government, and harder to sneak in the weapons and ammunition the 'rebels' need to keep their captive population from rebelling against the 'rebels' (like they're starting to do in Dayr al-Zawr and Hasakah)

Plus, of course opening a channel for those who the 'rebels' 'recruited' at gunpoint (the guns being pointed at the families of the 'volunteers') or through bribery (after destroying the population's ability to earn a living) to negotiate a surrender to the legitimate Syrian government.

Will Russia be paying fundies to attack Western troops here too ?
