And one wonders what China will do....
Xi is having a hissy fit with Pelosi visiting Taiwan....but as the same time, doesn't want any pretext for the US, Japan, and Korea increasing its military posture near its borders - which another nK nuclear test would provide...
Russia, on the other hand, would welcome another nK test as it would deflect from its debacle in Ukraine and introduce another foreign policy problem for the US...
China is in a box - it wants to vent at the US through nK but clearly doesn't want a nuclear armed country directly on its border...

So what, USA was about to test a minuteman111 ICBM until it chickened out. During NPT.
