I meant the article does not state who had been chosen to be acting chief.

RIP, The article not state who was selected to be acting chief during Amanos' illness. Only possible successors are bandied about. His work on the ongoing Fukushima Daiichi triple nuclear meltdown incident has not been mentioned. I remember a J Gov rep stating the use of science over entombment for the crippled Fukushima Daiichi NPP.
