31 premature babies evacuated from Gaza's largest hospital, but scores of trauma patients remain

Being holocausts victims doesn't authorized anyone to abuse babies and make sick people traumatize .

The other news outlets are talking about a hostage deal, but Netanyahu is denying it. Isn't it a good time to stop shooting and thing calmly?

Looks that you forget about settlement issue

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/11/6/who-are-israeli-settlers-and-why-do-they-live-on-palestinian-lands

That happened over time.

Or even Nakba https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakba

So at the end 2 millions of Palestine being squeezed in dense Gaza strip, there's a reason it called strip.

Well said. Having said that, none of these murderers are holocaust victims. There were even holocaust survivors like Hedi Epstein who was manhandled by the IDF for sticking up for Gaza.

I wasn't referring it literally, I was referring narratives that being used whenever someone try to raise objection about violence happened in that area.

I know. I was just expanding on what you said.

Gaza has become hell on earth.

The 50-meter tunnel is not very long. Not a Hamas command center.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

When Hamas committed atrocities on the 7th October, resulting in the horrific deaths of 1400, the taking of hostages, a pivotal lifetime change took place on the meaning of Middle Eastern political diplomacy, all bringing into sharp focus the Nations of Islam/Arab world refusal to recognize the moral right, any right, for Jews to a state, or presence in Palestine.

In fact, even Jew/Zionism existence.

So demanded retribution, what we are all witnessing in not just a war to erase Hamas a terrorist organization but the any hope a Palestinian State, its people all collateral damage........acceptable losses?

The time is over for any pretense of self-righteous hand wringing, pontificating political posturing, a devastating endgame is being perpetrated, where the lives, existence, even of Palestinian people, any remaining faint opportunity of a Palestinian state could be on the verge of near existential risk.

It is becoming clear that Gaza will be a distant shadow, a bombed-out crater of human misery to the Gaza prior to 7th October, if this offensive in the South proceeds.

The release of the hostages must bring a ceasefire,

A comprehensive UN sanctioned peacekeeping force with a clear mandate from all sides.

The US government has political diplomatic influence on the Government of Israel, must insist demand a strategy for an end to this mayhem.

When Hamas committed atrocities on the 7th October, resulting in the horrific deaths of 1400

Israel downsized the figure to 1200 but still very horrific.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

The 1200, in their name, is now becoming a means to the ever more bitter bloody conclusion/end.

A justification for a ruthless insistence that any future Palestinian State will be tolerated at all.

I have yet to read a single paragraph accepting or tolerating any form of Palestinian controlling presence in Gaza.

No, I just don't conflate different issues to create false narratives like you.

Google PLO, each and every time Palestinians utilises diplomacy, they win. Each and every time they resort to terrorism, they loose.

Go back to 1947, Palestinians had a chance to have an independent state under UN resolution 181. they chose to listen to their war mongering Arab friends instead and forego'ed statehood. It's been the same repeated mistakes ever since.

Just listen to yourself. Hamas launched a terrorist attack, they took hostages, they used Palestinians as human shield, and you want to bring in other issues like 'settlements'?

Hamas puts hostages, Palestinians lives in danger, you want to give Palestinian a voice? Support Israel to neutralise Hamas. It's that simple. Israel didn't launch their raid on Gaza in a vacuum.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu security intelligence failures in office at the very least partiality contributed to the deteriorating soon to become a regional catastrophe. Yet to fan out across the Arab world.

Benjamin Netanyahu continued presence could already represent a toxic geopolitical liability.

This fact has not been lost, however has yet to be fully realized in Europe.

Especially in France, UK, Germany.

The Iraq wars, Syria, Afghanistan, to name just a few of the most recent upheavals to a Muslim refugee/asylum conundrum.

The Pro Palestinian protests have caught the media attention, this must sooner or later reflect on the political landscape at the ballot box.

Im glad the babies were safely evacuated. Hopefully everyone else in the hospital can be so lucky.

Still looking for undisputable evidence verified by independent sources (not the IDF) to confirm that Shifa was indeed the base of all terrost operations in Gaza. Looking like there are some interesting finds for certain. Everyone knows that tunnels are built all under Gaza so now they need to prove military use.

Regardless, the hospital was not a clear and present danger to the IDF or israel, and the IDF certainly couldnt prove it before entering.

A shout out to Yipyip as well. I couldnt respond to your comment yesterday before the comments were locked. The article from the Geneva convention you shared doesnt give Israel freedom to target, threaten, or attack hospitals. If anything you just supports the argument that Israel has no right to take such actions, becasue they couldnt prove it was a clear anf imminent threat.

La vie douceToday  09:46 am JST

I saw a caricature recently - an Israeli soldier with his boot on the back of a Palestinian woman on the ground amongst the ruins, his weapon trained on her , the soldier is looking at his image in the mirror and seeing a WW2 Nazi soldier with his boot on a Jewish woman. The caption read - The irony of becoming that which you once despised. The drawing seemed like a a very accurate reflection of the current reality.

I’m getting tired of seeing people compare Israel to Nazi Germany. If you are going to do so, please provide comparisons instead of garbage. How is Israel like Nazi Germany? Did they invade and occupy the  Middle East like Germany did to Europe? Did they round up Palestinians like the Germans rounded up Jews? Did they put them in camps? (and please spare me the open air prison nonsense…generally prisons don’t have 5 star hotels and 25 hospitals, and the inmates don’t get work visas) Did Israel start this war? Did Germany let infants be transferred to different countries for care? I could go on.

I don’t like civilians being killed. It‘s terrible. But I also don’t like this double standard that Israel is always held to that other countries are not. Did anybody care when Arabs were killing Arabs in Syria? In Yemen? Do you see the same outrage as what is happening in Azerbaijan with the Armenians? Any calls for ceasefires? I’ve heard crickets.  Hamas should return the hostages. That is it.

Hells, I don’t care for what’s happening in the West Bank. I think Israel should have returned it to Jordan after the 6-day war. But they didn’t. But that is separate to Gaza, (of which they tried to return to Egypt…guess what Egypt did) which has been governed by Hamas, an organization who attacked Israel, knowing they would get this armed response, and knowing that a sympathtic response from a good portion of the world would ensue. I'll give Hamas credit...they are quite good at this. They lied about the bombed hospital. They have a history of lying about everything. Meanwhile, their leadership sit in Qatar like cowards while their own people are used as cannon fodder to further their goals. Hamas knew there would be mass civilian casualties and they didn’t care. They see their own people as expendable to the cause.

So please remind me. Who are like the Nazi’s?

-6 ( +5 / -11 )

We are living in what seems like biblical times. Beware of the devil whispering sweet spells into your ear to make you feel like a good person, pulling you to side with the Hamas savages strategy and propaganda. The divisions we see within the conflicting narratives were all part of the plan to sow hate, division and chaos. It has worked like an absolute charm too. Evil always seeps through and into weak minds.

This is a war for the soul of the world. Tread very carefully on to whom you throw your scorn.

Funny kind of so-called genocide, where hospitals are given permission to evacuate. Even when stores of weapons are found there.

Take a few minutes and read the details of the butchery committed by Hamas. If you dare. Children tortured in front of their parents. Women raped until their pelvic bones are broken, or mutilated in tbe midst of their agony. Hamas deserves no mercy.

Believe what? IDF and Israeli accounts of what happened. Look at the language you are using. Propaganda 101. Just like the old burned beheaded babies story.

Funny how a lot of this was filmed on Go_Pro's by Hamas terrorists. I guess you don' believe that either? Or the countless journalists who have seen the videos? Or the first hand accounts of Hamas prisoners? I agree, there weren't 40 babies beheaded. But some were. Some were baked in ovens. Children were killed in front of their parents and vice/versa. Women were raped in horrible fashion....and the list goes on. Does the number really matter? If it was only 2 beheaded babies, would that somehow make it okay? I suppose you believe that 500 people did die in the hospital bombing. (The hospital in question is still standing...but I guess that doesn't matter?)

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

Israel offered again and again to evacuate these premature babies but Hamas said no. Finally, they say yes to Egypt when they no longer need those babies as human shields.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Chabbawanga, the accounts of the horrors are freely available. Both from first responders and the Hamas butchers, who FILMED themselves commiting crimes that would get me banned here if I described them.

This hospital has been well known as a Hamas centre for years. Amnesty International (no friend of Israel) has been reporting on it as far back as 2015. The hospital was used for detention, torture, and murder. How many weapons need to be found before it can be acknowledged that Hamas was using Shifa hospital for their sick terrorist purposes?

Would have been easy for Israel to rubble the hospital, and indeed most of Gaza, on October 8 if they wanted. They did not. Instead they have been very careful about civilian casualties, even in areas like this hospital where they could have saved Israeli soldiers' lives by simply bombing it. The IDF deserves credit for restraint and professionalism in the face of a horrible situation.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Cat Stevens, ( great name ) If their twisted minds can’t comprehend ( choose not to ? ) or deal with the horrific and gruesome facts of that tragic day they simply won’t. It’ll be conspiracy theoried away with little effort or they will try and dodge, distract, and deflect their lack of humanity with talking points like the ‘decapitated baby’ question. Like it really makes what Hamas did just a tad more acceptable, if these dead babies were killed differently. The evidence, the cam work done by the perpetrators themselves , the accounts all lies, AI deep fakes or simply ignored. Whatever it takes, the mental gymnastics of these mob types will find a way.

None of this is new.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

With 11,000 dead, including 6,000 children it's good to know the IDF was careful with their target and bombings selection.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

The target is Hamas. The children were forced to stay near by Hamas. You must stop thinking morally in order to understand this logic.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

The IDF told the Arabs to go south then they bombed it.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Wallace; given the firepower at the disposal of the IDF, the number of deaths is remarkably low. Even if you are credulous enough to believe the numbers put out by Hamas. The Israeli Air Force has more than 300 attack aircraft at their disposal- can you imagine the carnage if they were able to simply bomb population centers indsicriminately? The remarkably low casualty numbers among Gazans is astonishing to be honest.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

They could also just drop an atomic bomb but I think it's called a measured response. The killing of 11,000 Arabs is a measured response. It will be more than 20,000 before it's over.

President Biden has called for a two-state solution to be made and a single Palestinian authority between a united West Bank and Gaza.
