Sure, on the condition that Hamas has no involvement in Palestine's government. Better yet, Hamas' complete destruction or dismantling should be a prerequisite for UN membership.

No worse than Likud and their right-wing settler allies. Both should dismantled.

A wave of world wide sympathy followed the pain and suffering of Jews during WWII, resulting in the rebirth of an Israeli state. A similar phenomena appears to be in progress now with the suffering of Palestinians moving people from across the globe to support the creation of a Palestinian state, that should have been done when modern Israel was created.

A just and righteous cause that should now have the support to become a reality. And the fault lies with the current leader of Israel who not only retaliated but has now gone far beyond the acceptable in the eyes of people everywhere.

So you can call this a winning result cause by the Hamas 07/10 counter offensive.

Surely this shows that terrorism and violent aggression wins? Just like Trump and Russia.

Without the unequivocal support of the US and Israeli governments, this whole charade, a duplicitous U.N. General Assembly vote, is nothing more than a superficial shallow attempt at a pretence of saving any hope or prospect of an independent Palestinian state.

What does these so called Palestine new rights and reviving its U.N. membership represent?

A pile of rubble on a chair.

Another scheme from the USA.

U.S. deputy ambassador Robert Wood said Friday that for the U.S. to support Palestinian statehood, direct negotiations must guarantee Israel’s security and future as a democratic Jewish state and that Palestinians can live in peace in a state of their own.

Who cares what the U.S said because it's bs anyway.

And the USA guarantees Israel security so...what's mr wood blathering about ?

Excellent news

Now stop killing innocent Palestinian civilians and destroying their homes ! ! !

Under longstanding legislation by the U.S. Congress, the United States is required to cut off funding to U.N. agencies that give full membership to a Palestinian state, which could mean a cutoff in dues and voluntary contributions to the U.N. from its largest contributor.

Fine !

Buzz off then !

See where that gets ya

Israel’s U.N. Ambassador Gilad Erdan vehemently opposed the resolution, accusing U.N. member nations of not mentioning Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack and seeking “to reward modern-day Nazis with rights and privileges.”

Totally inappropriate to mention Nazis after what Israel has been doing

Hypocrisy
