Mosul is a big city

"Altogether, since the start of Mosul, 760,000 civilians have left their homes, and we are looking at the possibility of another 200,000 civilians leaving," she said.

Of the 760,000 civilians who have fled, some 150,000 have since returned home, leaving more than 600,000 currently displaced.

Better they leave then return back

UN camps have been pre-setup and at least later have homes to return to as their city won't be bombed to hell, as Iraqi troops risking their lives fighting street-to-street

Oh, you've should have seen comments durung the battle of Aleppo! Several posters here were very active decrying "cruel Syrian army" almost daily. Where are you guys, how about decrying "cruel Iraqi army" and its American allies? How about "Stop the massacre of Mosul"?

Seriously, very sad. The US military was capable to nip the ISIS threat in the bud as early as it emerged in summer-2014, but preferred to procrastinate. I wonder why.

Mosul civilian casualties are way higher than they were in Aleppo.

We don't know that - we don't have the numbers yet from Aleppo 2012-2015
