Biden is on the record as stating that the US would defend Taiwan

The most clear response we've had from any US president.

Considering the alternative is enslavement by the CCP, Taiwan must hope countries have some sense of decency and will take action when China starts shoving.

The free, democratic world needs to get behind Taiwan and assure them more. Totalitarian Communist China can not be permitted to just invade and take over a free nation - as we have seen fascist Russia attempting to do to Taiwan. The result would be complete and total genocide of the Taiwanese.

There would be plenty of citizen volunteer fighters from nations like Japan, USA, Canada, Australia etc who would go over and help defend Taiwan - that is certain.

Correction: Ukraine.

The free world must stop another invasion and genocide happening as we see daily committed by fascist Russia.

The Taiwanese FM has to be extremely circumspect with his or her public comments on such a delicate subject. If a US defense looks too much like a done deal China could feel backed into a corner and use that as an excuse to invade. Best to say as little as possible while preparing furiously for the worst.

The US blew their wad on Ukraine.

The weapons the US would use to fight the Chinese are not what is being sent to Ukraine.
