Half a million dead, innocent, Iraqi civilians would beg to disagree.
Remember, the US actions against Iraq were essentially the exact same thing as the police murdering George Floyd on a global scale.
Strangerland
They have just as much right to criticize the USA, as the USA has grounds to criticize their human rights.
This is for two reasons:
1) In a world without a world-government, there are no world-rules. Therefore, the right to speak is one everyone has, until another country uses their right of might to shut them down. If the USA doesn't like the right of these countries to speak what they want about the USA, the USA will have to destroy them militarily to get them to stop.
2) The USA has some major human rights violations. They deserve to be called out on it. These violations do are not invalidated simply because the people pointing them out also have human rights violations. That argument would be akin to two wrongs making a right.
The USA deserves criticism for their human rights violations. As does China (not sure about Iran).

Well yeah, the US certainly has committed many atrocities, the destruction of Libya under the previous administration being the latest one.
However, it is curious that the Ayatollha has nothing to say about China keeping millions of Uigur muslim men in concentration camps, and assigning Han Chinese "husbands" aka government-assigned rapists, to the widows of those who do not come back. One would have thought that sort of thing should raise an eyebrow in the islamic republic of Iran. (Well, Ok the Uigurs are Sunnis, but still...)
WilliB
Err, what? The article writer might have appended that with the statements from several African leaders about how their nationals are treated in China.

Victor:
You mean the poverty that the CCP put them in in the first place? You do realize that Taiwan never had anything like the mass starvation of mainland China under Mao, do you.
Blacklabel
You do realize this is the “catchphrase” of a cartoon character, right?
Blacklabel
Wow somebody is all emotional, got hit right in the tendies. Didn’t address the human rights records of China or Iran whatsoever. Just the usual crying about that orange guy.
Zaphod
I would say the double standards are on the side China and Iran. Do the CCP and mullahs really get into details of their human rights records? Bring it on.
HonestDictator
Yeah, that peace is under threat from our own leader, and a particular super corrupted political majority in US government that enables him to destroy the foundations of what you find respectable about America. Just hope it gets corrected. Putin and the CCP love Trump for a reason. He's destroying America for them and they're work is easier for them.
HonestDictator
@Blacklabel, apparantly it went far over your head that nobody takes an utter hypocrite seriously. Right now America lacks DIGNITY, INTEGRITY, HONESTY, CREDIBILITY. Our country looks downright FOOLISH. Thank your "man" for this. If you still believe we have any kind of "moral high ground". Remember TRUTH, JUSTICE, and the AMERICAN WAY? That's gone now.... Trumps "truth" is more lies, Trumps "justice" is ignore any injustice an violate and tread on the constitution of this country.
You can sit there "defending" him pointlessly with weak words and no factual proof, while Trump will shoot you and himself in the foot in front of everyone else. It can hurt your feelies because people dislike and despise Trump, but your blind sheep faith in him only makes it worse because you straight up intentionally wear blinders to what he's doing and what he's done. People who have known this man for far longer than he's been in office are stating his faults he had since quite a long time ago, are showing up in front of the rest of the US as well as the world.
Btw, living in cults never ends well for anyone. It takes a special kind of crazy to live like that. Get help.

US is far from perfect but the whole world should thank US that we have a peace on this planet for such a long time. Imagine how many regimes (including communist China) would conquer this world if we did not have US. Thanks to you US.

America's rivals should support Trump for Nov 2020, how could find a better leader for ths US whom you hate?
lincolnman
Well, I actually think it's six - China, Russia, Iran, Turkey and North Korea - and the Trump Organization...

There is a counterpart of the five eyes union : US,UK,Canada,Australia,NZ! The new five eyes union: China,Russia,Iran,Turkey and North Korea!

America advances only it's interests lol, even some Americans know that.
What America does to its people is the same thing they do to others and other countries.
America paints other countries as black and then when they are perceived as black America kills them.
RichardPearce
I love how the Rabbit Hole Warriors think that a country that allies with the last surviving Apartheid regime and al-Qaeda has the moral high ground over a country who views both those as enemies of humanity.
that person
Under trump, everything is in reverse mode, from human rights to environmental advances
lincolnman
Just one more example of America's adversaries taking advantage of a weakened and less influential US since 2017...
Dump Trump in 2020, and American will definitely be great again...

And the article did not even mention Guantanamo, CIA blacksites, arming terrorist nations, the joke trial of the war criminal Eddie Gallagher, most American war criminals not even getting the joke trial, the lies used to attack and tear apart Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, bombing at least 7 sovereign nations with no declaration of war in the 21st century alone, or the terrorism and murder by predator drone as old as the weapon itself.
America barely had a moral ground considering the land stealing and murder of native Americans as well as racial slavery and then apartheid continuing well past the middle of the 20th century. George Floyd was the tip of the iceberg and police impunity and brutality are just the tip of yet another iceberg. The U.S. government is the real rogue regime on this planet and has been for a long time.
Victor
Yes. According to the World Bank, more than 850 million Chinese people have been lifted out of extreme poverty; China's poverty rate fell from 88 percent in 1981 to 0.7 percent in 2015, as measured by the percentage of people living on the equivalent of US$1.90 or less per day in 2011 purchasing price parity terms.
In the meantime bottom 50% have gotten poorer in the US.
Blacklabel
so do you feel this article is true? Iran and China have grounds to criticize the human rights record of the USA?
Please say yes, I love it when liberals instinctively take the media position opposite Trump then find they are on the wrong side with the wrong message.
Strangerland
Should they only report American propaganda?
I hope you don’t think America has some kind of moral high ground. Iraq.
Blacklabel
liberal media complicit in gleefully pushing Chinese and Iranian propaganda.
Victor
Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others.

The small dog barks constantly and the big dog barks once. When a government points a finger at another government, there are three fingers pointing back. Those governments should send a big thank you to the people of the USA because the USA has given them the ability to complain. Look in the mirror, and when it says PERFECT, let the world know. The USA is NOT perfect, but it is far better than many foreign countries that allow the government to have people "disappear," go to prisons or work camps for rehabilitation, or starve to death.
RichardPearce
Oh, oh, if this makes Fox News, Trump just might order the US military to attack both China and Iran (ps, yes, there are lots of IDs claiming to be Iranian on social media shouting nasty things about the democratically elected government of Iran, just as there were when Ahmadinejad was reelected. But turns out that the number of Iranians who believe those things are a very small portion of the population (like smaller than the portion of the American population who believe Trump)
Don't take my word for it, the University of Maryland's Center For International and Security Studies actually looks at what the real world numbers are, not the easily spoofed numbers of social media.
