mukashiyokatta - The entire civilized world condemns the US gun society. Foolish.

Are you actually attempting to speak for the entire civilized world, or are you just projecting YOUR opinion on to the entire civilized based on no evidence that supports your claim?

presto345 - Trump is close to being impeached

No, that sounds like wishful thinking. In spite of what the Hillary worshippers, yellow dog Democrats, Russian internet influencers, and the usual suspects working for the main stream media outlets claim, they do not have votes for, nor do they have any evidence of, an actual impeachable offense. Repeatedly claiming that they do does not mean that any actually exists. Wishful thinking did not get Hillary elected POTUS in 2008, or 2012, either.

the foreign office said in a statement.

"Every country freely decides on its own laws on carrying firearms, as in other areas.

That seems like such a simple concept. And yet there are still foreign nationals choosing to tell the U.S. voters how they should deal with firearms within the U.S. at the same time those same people are complaining that someone in the U.S. is suggesting how other countries could deal with firearms. If it wasn't for repeated doses of hypocrisy, the internet might dry up and wither away.

Meanwhile London did suffer a spike in knife crime early this year, and did see more murders during February and March than New York City did.

mukashiyokatta can you make it clear.

Do you say "entire civilized world condemns the US gun society." are foolish ?

OR

"The US gun society." is foolish ?

Excuse me? The left "embrace white supremacism and racism wholeheartedly"?

Yes as well as fascism and anarchism.

Those are your words, bud, and once again from a completely different universe.

The liberal unicornverse that’s where you’ll find them.

Show me who embraces White Supremacism on here besides a few right-wing nuts and your president.

Every liberal city I’ve been to in the States that is run by Democrats with the heaviest minority population are dirt poor and the highest crime rates and incarceration rates, now tell me how liberal policies have helped minorities. How many our are prosperous. Democrats want the minority vote, but that’s it overall. The worst thing in The US that has systematically destroyed the black family unit is the Democratic Party, doesn’t get more racist then that. Left wing, yes, but right institutionalized racist thinking.

I challenge you to. And racism?

Sure thing, thought you’d never ask. Go anywhere in California or NY in the richest neighborhoods and tell me how many minorities live there and why won’t these rich caring liberals take them in?

There are DOZENS of examples of your president spewing racist hate, and YOU supporting it! Yes, YOU. Even if you don't repeat his exact words, but deflecting and saying he didn't say what he did, or mean what he said, you are just as bad. That's fact. Not alternative fact, as you like, but actual fact.

First of all, I’m not a racist, I don’t like racism and that is why I’m not a liberal. The president is actually saying things that many people are thinking, but don’t have the guts to say it. Don’t worry, I don’t deflect and I’m straight as an arrow. Those are the facts.

Sorry, but you've been shot down easily on this issue.

Was that supposed to be funny?

The homicide numbers not only add up, they show the lunacy of your nations thinking towards guns.

You may think it’s looney, I think people that want to take my guns away from me not only looney, but dangerous.

You guys are incapable of rational thought when it comes to guns, saying, "We have to ban cars and knives, too!" forgetting that the purpose of cars is transportation, and the purpose of knives numerous, inducing as a kitchen and dining utensil.

I’m sorry, but you’re getting emotional, calm down. The aregument is relevant, if you take all the guns away by the way which would never, ever happen, but for entertainment purposes if you could, it wouldn’t change a thing, the people that want to hurt others would come up with a different idea.

You think a person can kill another person with popcorn if that is their attention and a gun could do no more damage.

No, but with trucks, cars, gas, bombs, poison, guns underground, either way, it’s not going to stop anything, and I really don’t like to live in a “What if” hypothetical, just a waste of time. Anyway, I’m keeping my guns and no one is going are them from me.

Trump has proven himself a coward once again by bowing down to the NRA, whom he shocked in the open meeting by saying he would be tougher on and wanted more restrictions, and that other politicians were "scared" of the NRA, but "not me". An absolute coward.

Well, to tell you the truth, it wouldn’t be wise to go up against millions of gun owners. Good luck with that. It’s not about Trump, it’s beyond him. It’s about us and the 2nd amendment and fiercely defending it.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Two ifs. If I was in a restaurant in Europe that came under attack, and if there was a gun available I am pretty sure I would pick it up and fire back. (Foolish perhaps.) The problem is that in doing so, I might also be inviting a trigger-happy police officer to see me as a target and shoot this way in the confusion.

Trump retweeted a handful of anti-Muslim videos and hate tweets posted by the deputy leader of a British far-right group whose leaders are serving jail time.

That showed support for the group and the video's.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

what for supporting white suprematism and racism?

He doesn’t, unlike the left that embrace it wholeheartedly.

-10 ( +3 / -13 )

He won’t be impeached. If anything, he will be Penged. He has the support of NRA, so nobody will challenge as his support base of 3.5 million carry asualt rifles.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

bass4funk

No, I give him credit for speaking his mind, not the retweet.

what for supporting white suprematism and racism?

6 ( +8 / -2 )

Trump is close to being impeached in spite of all his frantic firing of officials doing their duty, following the law serving the American people which is an unknown concept to Trump. But this clown himself thinks he is above the law and nothing prevents him from offending foreign countries with his never ending adolescent idiocies and obscenities. Until he gets axed.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Having said all of that, there is definitely a blind spot in European readiness to repel a terrorist attack. To fill the few minutes it usually takes for an armed response team to arrive, people are advised to 'run, hide and tell'.  In recent attacks the police have been swift to respond, it is true, but we, Jo public, still have no real way of stopping or disrupting the baddies doing initially exactly what they want.

Perhaps we need more plain-clothes armed guards at events seen as likely targets.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Any civilised person has to give her credit for that. Trump didn’t and sent a smacked-arse-faced tweet to a different Theresa May.

I give both credit.

You give credit to someone retweeting dodgy material from a known racist group?

Why? It’s unacceptable behaviour and a sign of a very unpleasant mind.

As I said before, Trump is entitled to his opinion but his record on supporting his ‘facts’ is revolting. He should be judged on that.

EU population 508 million. Homicide rate per 100,000 (2015) 1.0

That’s the EU as a whole, nice try.

And we still have more gun owners, so the numbers of homicide don’t ad up.

-13 ( +3 / -16 )

Not completely true. According to Pew,

He regardless of what the poll says. To say that means, he’s not the POTUS.

Trump is not popular in most countries and has tarnished the image of the US.

Some may think that, some don’t and most really don’t care what others think except the coastal US vegan crowds.

However, it seems he’s popular among Russians and Vietnamese. They seem to like the cut if his jib.

Progress in the making.

-12 ( +2 / -14 )

No, Bass. The PM ( Prime Minister ) of the UK is a woman. Her name is Theresa May. Quite tall, I think late fifties, short greying hair.

Ok and?

I’m not a supporter of May or her party, but she did have the decency to make her feelings clear that tweeting dodgy material from known racists is not civilised behaviour.

Yes and Trump made his as well.

Any civilised person has to give her credit for that. Trump didn’t and sent a smacked-arse-faced tweet to a different Theresa May.

I give both credit.

Uncivilised, incompetent trash

May?

There were 100 attacks that killed 97 people in the U.S. in 2015-2016,

So why the travel ban?

The largest single terrorist attack in America and Europe was 9/11 attack, and that was done with planes and box cutters.

The racists in that group were understandably delighted at the publicity. The UK PM was less than delighted,

The man that banned all knives? Does that include butter knives as well?

No, Bass. The PM ( Prime Minister ) of the UK is a woman. Her name is Theresa May. Quite tall, I think late fifties, short greying hair.

Karl Marx's tomb is in Highgate cemetery where people go to have picnics.

As if more proof were need Trump is a callous moron.l, bereft of any and all morality. Those who support him support the murder of tens of thousands in the US by guns every year. Yup, if Yanks were smart enough to give up their guns (after all the extreme nutters wiped themselves out), there would be some knife crimes instead. But how many died in England by the knife as opposed to the US by guns? And can you eat dinner with a gun? Guns serve one purpose: killing. Knives are tools used for living, and occasionally misused by people who want to hurt others. Ever wonder why NRA won’t allow guns at their own meetings?

11 ( +13 / -2 )

If a London hospital is like a war zone after 38 stabbings in 120 days, what does that make US schools like? Massacre zones? Crimes against humanity zones? Ethnic cleansing zones? Multiple war zones? Trump once again showing his "lack" of intelligence.

How 5 million NRA members can hold an entire country to ransom with truck loads of cash, while 320 million Americans that are not NRA members are unable to get sensible gun laws past that stop civilians from owning military weapons. Huge mystery.

The US military has suffered approx 6,713 deaths from service in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001 until 2017.

US Civilian deaths due to firearms each year is in the tens of thousands. The message here is we prefer Americans kill Americans with our guns, that's quite ok. But we dont like to have people shot by terrorists or foreign countries. Thats not acceptable.

America has the largest Military expenditure.

America has the largest economy.

America has the largest debt.

America has the most internal problems.

America has the highest % of dumb politicians currently serving in government. (my opinion. No poles on that)

America is not capable or qualified to be leading a group of cub scouts let alone the free world!

Trump is not seen by any country as leader of the free world. He is the leader of a broken country that needs help.

Trumps disjointed speech at the NRA conference is all the proof needed.

Disgraceful.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

So knife crime in London is an excuse for Americans carrying assault rifles. Just imagine if all those people with knives had had assault rifles instead!! How stupid is this man?

He really should stay home. Nobody wants him. And the original embassy may have been more central, but it was also very insecure and impossible to make secure given where it was. Again – how stupid is this man?

10 ( +13 / -3 )

many triggered individuals why is that, murder rate is 5 times higher in the US than UK. 4.9/100000 to 0.9/100000. Incarceration rate is also 4.5times higher in the USA 666/100000 to UK, 146/100000.

so its very clear that the UK is by far a safer and freer country than the US, I think its Trump that gets triggered since he doesn't have the facts backing his claims.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

Maybe the reason Japan, the biggest friend of USA, has to pay tariffs, is because we don't have guns?

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

He is a Head of State - he has to tread others' States as not his own, especially allies

Now if all world leaders would take your advice and adjust attitudes toward the US in how they treat us.....we have to listen to their opinions on how we should be, but if Trump makes an opinionated remark, the world is falling in on itself, how dare he?! Lol

It's one thing for Heads of State to give opinions about their policies to each other - those are matters between States

But it's a whole 'nother thing to comment on victims of tragedies by Heads of States of other countries - those have nothing to do with another Head of State

Learning the subtleties in the differences is what becoming a Head of State entails

Again, one doesn't see other Heads of State say that the US should ban guns whenever there's another mass shooting - they just console the victims but stay away from it. A Head of State should take the hint

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Don’t worry, my European friends. Gun supporters do what they can to incite fear in each other. Trump was just trying to get Americans to imagine terrorists killing us.

Besides, maybe more guns would help in that situation? Sure, you’ll have endless shootings at your schools and scores of dead kids, but hey, what if you run across a terrorist walking down the street?

5 ( +8 / -3 )

Trump claimed guns would have prevented the London gang knife killings to the terrorist Paris' Bataclan concert hall attack but not sure how they would have when guns didn't stop the Florida mass shooting at the school in Florida or the mass shooting from the hotel in Las Vegas when it was guns which caused them.

American homicide rate per 100,000 people, 4.88. Japan 0.31. Britain 0.92

Mass shootings 2018. America 83. Japan zero. Britain zero.

http://www.gunviolencearchive.org

America 2016: there were 1,604 people killed from stabbings. 10,630 gun murders.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/195325/murder-victims-in-the-us-by-weapon-used/

In Britain there were 709 homicides in the year ending March 2017.

Trump is fueling the fire for protests during his visit to Britain in July. Trump last year retweeted the leader of a white suprematists who are now currently serving time in prison. Trump "I didn't know they were racists and white suprematists."

12 ( +16 / -4 )

Actually think that Europe would be even worse than the us (if that's possible!) crime-wise, shooting-wise etc if they had similar lax gun legislation. Reckon euros (especially south/eastern euros) are more emotional and confrontational than Americans (or Scandinavians, perhaps Brits) and are exactly the type of people who shouldn't own guns.

Good thing is, unlike Trump, euro govts and ppl themselves are aware of it and do not want to open that can of worms.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Trump reads the Mail online.

Don’t forget the National Enquirer. He got his story about Ted Cruz’s father being in on the JFK assassination from that publication.

Clamenza reads the Mirror on line.

It’s shocking to think this is used as a source in a serious discussion. It was the New York Post and Fox News the other day. It’ll be the National Enquirer next.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

He’s allowed an opinion.

I think the last time he caused trouble in the UK was when he retweeted dodgy videos from a racist organisation. The racists in that group were understandably delighted at the publicity. The UK PM was less than delighted, and made her feelings clear. Trump responded by getting on Twitter and throwing his potty at the wrong Theresa May.

There are clearly people in the UK at least who value Trump’s thinking. Two of them, the leaders of the racist group, are now in jail and I’m not sure how much access they have to the news.

This might appeal to certain types in the UK and France although many of them live in public toilets.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

The 25th Amendment includes a section regarding impeaching a president for mental instability. That's the point we're at.

Seems coherent and typical Trump to me, therefore, the 25th amendment wouldn’t apply. Remember, the left tried this too. Tick that one off the list as well.

Trump should stay away from other countries' victims, except to console them

Ya don't see other Heads of State say that the US should ban guns whenever there's another mass shooting - they just console the victims but stay away from it

This oaf wishes to infect Europe with his barbaric gun culture. We say - no thanks.

Now you understand how Trump feels when Europe tries to tell America what to do, No Thanks.

One could, if one were unkind, liken the US to the wild west,

Where men were men, hard and rugged.

insofar as it's refusal to grow up and move beyond its violent origins.

Meanwhile the fake PotUS has had his London comments slammed.

Fake? Trump is in your face, you can’t more real than that. Trump would never care what others think about him, he says it, like it or not. Fake? Lol

-18 ( +6 / -24 )

They don't have guns. They have knives and instead there's blood all over the floors of this hospital. They say it's as bad as a military war zone hospital. Knives, knives, knives, knives.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Oh dear.

Trump reads the Mail online.

Clamenza reads the Mirror on line.

No wonder they get a slanted view (=totally the wrong idea) from what they read.

They probably both believe London is under Sharia law and the West End is a no-go area.

I don't know whether it's sad, or scary, or just ridiculous.

Probably all three.

15 ( +18 / -3 )

The NRA crowd loved what Trump had to say. The value of rousing the true believers into a frenzy, however, is a little less clear. Just six months until the answer to that question begins to reveal itself.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

President Trump was speaking to the NRA. He wasn't talking to France or London.

Everyone knows that he'll say/tweet/post something stupid and embarrassing at least a few times a day. Glad that all the world is following him.

As I understand it the best guarantee against mass shooters is “good guys with guns “ , at least that’s what NRA says and they claim to be the experts . That was also what Trump was talking about in his speech, just make sure everyone is armed and everyone is safe . Why didn’t Trump or Pence accept to be protected by a whole auditorium of “good guys “ , that should have been the absolutely safest place on this planet !!!

Oh sorry, that was not for them to decide, that was for Secret Service to decide and the real professionals don’t seem to believe in the “good guys “ theory .

14 ( +16 / -2 )

Dear Leader Trump said the 38 knife killings in London was somehow worse than almost 5,000 gun deaths in America so far this year.

In America States with stricter gun controls also have less gun deaths. I guess less guns less deaths.

There have been no mass shootings in the UK since 1998. 83 mass shooting so far this year this year in America.

The homicide gun rate in the UK is less than 1% of that in America.

Interesting that Trump didn't even mention gun crime in Japan. Almost zero.

"The Royal London Hospital has cut the number of our young patients returning after further knife attacks from 45% to 1%. There is more we can all do to combat this violence, but to suggest guns are part of the solution is ridiculous. Gunshot wounds are at least twice as lethal as knife injuries and more difficult to repair.

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-44017054

Shameful Trump comments once again.
