Yeah this was to be expected.

"Embattled"??

honestly he didn't seem at all concerned.  given he knows that he will not be removed from office.  and will likely beat whichever Dem they finally prop up against him.

I'd be surprised if this gets past the Senate, then I'd be surprised if the Democrats can put up a credible candidate for the 2020 elections - looking like Trump has a clean sweep to his second term.

Putin has no love for Donny, he is a puppet in Putin's hands, the aim is to make America weaker.

Too soon to tell. However, for the Democrats to ignore Trump's bribery, extortion and whatnot in Ukraine with Rudy Giuliani still mixing it up there couldn't be ignored. The Democrats didn't want this, but they had no choice with arrogant president. If they hadn't impeached him, he'd be doing something worse.

I'm also curious about how well the Republican senators are going to do in the purple states the next time around. Don't forget that 50% of the country wants to see this president impeached and removed from office. Think about it, that's half the country that doesn't want him as their leader.

Anyway, asking foreign powers for help in U.S. elections is wrong and it's unconstitutional.

I couldn’t be happier today! FINALLY! All the naysayers that said Trump would never be impeached. He deserves all that he is getting right now. Especially, this impeachment. A Christmas present from the American people. A nice big lump of coal.

Putin won by doing his part in getting Trump elected (See Mueller report's evidence Russia meddled to help Trump) knowing Trump would screw things up, damage the remaining bits of US democracy.

Plus with Putin and his oligarchs doing more business with US oil companies and Wall Street, and with GOP senators like McConnell, Graham, Rubio, Cruz etal being paid by Russian oligarchs, and also paid by US big oil and banking, Kaiser Vlad's set himself up for a long time. Trump and the GOP sold out to Russia and continue to do so. For a few million more.

I came across this piece which also spells out just how badly the Republican party (in Trump they trust) screwed up across the board with their partisanship rhetoric. It's a good thing to think about and come to the realization just how corrupt they've become.

Trump’s attacks on the late John Dingell and his wife Debbie are absolutely disgusting. No normal human being does this. To infer that Rep. Dingell may be looking up from h*** is beyond the pale. This is unforgivable. Trump is unfit for office.

Allan Dershowitz condemns it too. He points out that impeaching presidents on a purely partisan vote because the opposing party does not like him would de fact change the entire balance of the US political system.
