Our condolences to our Aussie friends and partners...

Thankfully, their Prime Minister took quick action and made responsible decisions...

A good example of what happens when that's not the case is in the US, where the death toll is not 100, but will soon reach 100,000....

Probably in Australia only 1% of population is incompetent, versus 99% in US...

@ Busby, true. To be fair to the USA, however, they trusted the WHO 100% to give directions about the virus, and the crooked WHO had a reckless "Nothing to see here... its under control" attitude until much too late. (No doubt under pressure from their paymaster - Communist China)

On the other hand, the Australian (and NZ?) government declared Covid-19 a pandemic 1-2 weeks before the WHO did. Those 2 weeks made all the difference.

Moral of the story- never trust the corrupt WHO to give directions to protect your citizens, as the USA did. I hope they learn their lesson. Their nation is now a total disaster zone, and will be the very last place to recover.

Well, I disagree. The moral of the story is to not disestablish the Office of Pandemic Response just because your predecessor created it. Also, don't de-fund the CDC requiring them to pull back US medical experts embedded in China. Lastly, don't forget that your predecessor left a playbook for you to use.

Oh, one more - don't elect a Moron as President....

Australia possibly went too far with the lockdown, given the economic fallout now playing out. Once the borders were sealed and the cruise ships and travellers dealt with, the issue was pretty much sorted, with minimal domestic transmission.

But overall a great display of leadership and judgement by the Morrison government.

Glad to see the Aussies have got their kit together. Great job, Land Down Under. You have set a stellar example for us all!

Why do I have have the distinct impression that you did not read Obamas Pandemic Response Playbook. Try it, it is here:

Better get a lot of coffee ready... the 86 pages of fluff are truly a masterpiece bureaucratese boredom. However not to worry, I swallowed hard and read it for you. Here is the summary: "In case of a pandemic, here is a list the phone numbers of all the different agencies which will get involved".

Wow, that was profound! Who would have thunk. If Trump just had had this playbook, there have been no pandemic. Bad Trump!

Meanwhile, "Australia's coronavirus death toll reaches 100". Trump has been restricting travel, but Democrats, their pet media outlets, and the usual internet suspects condemned him for it. Until it proved to be a great idea, and then the same people whined that Trump didn't do it sooner. Australia was able to do what they had to do, regardless of the misinformation be supplied by the Chinese government and the WHO, because Australia is not burdened by the U.S. Democrat party and it's puppets.
