Seems like the mask mandate is not as effective as purported.

Express.

I have taken the vaccine. You cite smallpox, but what about influenza? Which is far more "Covid-like" and which we have never eradicated. Much like Covid, new variants come along every year that require an updated vaccine.

My issue is not with the prevention or treatments for Covid. My issue is that for a virus that provably has a very low mortality rate and which we have developed a number of treatment protocols, we still impose all sorts of excessive restrictions - some of which are apparently only of limited efficacy - and appear to want to continue to do so until .... when??

What evidence? show me evidence that shows that pandemic outcomes have been demonstrably better in countries that have imposed these restrictions over those that haven't been as severe.

the various mandates and restrictions appear not to be able to prevent or even slow the spread of the virus

I can understand that you would feel this way if you ignore, uh, what is it, let me check my notes here... oh yeah, evidence.

I doubt it. Feels like this is now endemic, like the flu. We will have to learn to live with it and stop all this draconian nonsense.

FFS just take the vaccine. That's how we beat smallpox! That's how we can beat Covid-19! Why can't people understand what medicine is? What vaccines are? Worse, why can you understand it but reject the truth because it conflicts with your ideology!?

I'm about to lose my mind. Get the jab, people.

Australia bet for a slow roll out of vaccines since they demonstrated they could control outbreaks, but the appearance of variants can make that bet extremely dangerous.

COVID is here to stay. and the various mandates and restrictions appear not to be able to prevent or even slow the spread of the virus. Not that that has made much difference to the official response to this pandemic.

COVID 19 seems to be sticky.
