Do the hustle
This is just a sensible precautionary measure. This is self-imposed isolation. It is not quarantine. People are to wear masks, use hand sanitizer and stay out of public as much as possible for 14 days after arrival. Those who have no symptoms are permitted to travel onto their final destination by all public transport and airplanes. They just need to wear a mask and use the sanitizer. My Mrs arrives in Brisbane on Tuesday morning from Japan. She has no symptoms and will fly on from there to our home for self-isolation. I can go to work as long as I wear a mask and use the sanitizer.
This is only a precaution to slow the spread of the infections. Japan should adopt the same policy although, there was that idiot last week who was diagnosed with the virus and then went out bar hopping with the intention of spreading the virus. Stupidity and ignorance should both be illegal!
Here is the actual information on the self-isolation:

There are more than just tourists flying into Australia everyday. There are students, business people and family members.

As I say often, better late than never.

Scott Morrison should have announced it some weeks ago rather than only after his New Zealand counterpart Jacinda Ardern introduced her decisive measures.
The tough times ahead will determine if Morrison is the right person who can stop the virus like the way he had stopped the boats.

So when booking travel there, are you booking hotels starting 14 days after arrival?

Everyone should see the pictures of U.S. airports today.
A minimum of 3 hour wait to get through customs.

Crapchat, many Amercian stores have had empty shelves for days. The stores restock but it's all gone first thing in the morning.

It is for everyone, Australians or visitors, everyone stepping off a plane has to go into self isolation for 2 weeks

I'm not sure that SELF-isolation is the way to go. I keep hearing stories of people who were supposed to be self-isolated, but chose to mingle with groups of unsuspecting people. However, doing something is better than doing nothing.
