There has never been a more anti-democracy, anti-American politician than Trump.
Ah_so
Blacks, women and gays. I bet this will outrage the Trump fanbase, who will dismiss it as nothing more than tokenism.

Or with their 'Maybe OK IF they are better than a white man'.

Great to see society reflected after 4 years of lunacy.

Democracy in its dumbest and most destructive form.
Trump is allowed to be dumb. His followers are allowed to be dumb. But the fact is they have not a shred of evidence to back up their assertions.

A diverse Cabinet is great. I'm all for it. But I just hope that each person is selected on the basis of their qualification and capability over their simply being "diverse".
Jimizo
Would Buttigieg be better employed in foreign affairs, defence or veterans affairs?
Anyway, clearly a man with intelligence.
sunfunbun
Right no Ben Carson's or Betsy DeVos'.
Trump supporters, this cabinet is being picked based on competence and purpose, and there isn't a question to the honesty and qualifications of Biden's picks over the horror show of Trump's unqualified and biased revolving cabinet, chosen for their loyalty to him, not loyalty to the constitution.

Absolutely!
Young, "safe" centrist, Buttigieg, now begins his rise under grandpa Biden and is sure to be groomed and anointed by the DNC for higher things. Now they just have to figure out what to do about that "elephant in the room": the angry 74 million.

My belief is Pete, as mayor of South Bend, understands infrastructure and has the versatility and intelligence to do this job well.
In fact, I believe he could be great at foreign affairs, as well, but his experience as mayor and knowing how important transit and the idea of gasoline free electric cars being the future is to a city and the country, as well as the world, makes sense he is secretary of Transportation.

I supported Buttigieg, and so much i even betted a 1000 usd on him and I never bet normally.
But he realised it was to early for him and to early for the USA to accept making a homosexual the next President.
So, he cut a deal with Biden for this. I redraw, pledge you my support and I get a nice position in your line-up.
so, sorry but he sold out. And when he did that once... just another politician taking care of nobody but himself. I am not naive, that’s the way it works in politics but I don’t have to like it.
It bothers me that it was so obvious at the time, that I was waiting for it, and it happened . Sad
Jimizo
Biden and Buttigieg are both moderates. Buttigieg hardly sold out his principles here.
I don’t get your feelings of disappointment here.

Well, as a Trump supporter, I just don't understand all of these Biden picks...
There's not a washed-up celebrity, former reality TV show contestant, or ex-felon in the bunch...what kind of cabinet is that?
bass4funk
There is no democracy when one side gets told they’re not allowed to voice concern or skepticism because a section of a political group silences another that will never stand and those concerns will never be silenced, ever. In a true democracy all sides, pro or con, satisfied and disgruntled should an shall be heard in one shape or form. Biden can have his picks, some will be confirmed and others will be DOA and to keep checks and balances in place and with the GOP retaining the Senate and soon retaking the House those safety protocols and democracy will be upheld.

Not quite sure what there is in Mayor Pete's background that qualifies him for a cabinet post such as this. Any history of working for a trucking company, airline, etc. I mean, nothing against him, he seems like a bright young guy. But what, other than his choice of bedmates, makes him remotely qualified for this post?
Not to mention, but I believe President Trump had the first openly gay member of a presidential cabinet anyway.

What you constantly miss is that a democracy depends on truth, information and critical thinking.
Trump people do not understand, for whatever reason, their's is not truth. It's mostly what Kelly Anne Conway said, which is alternative facts, that are in layman's terms, lies.
You dismiss information, both scientific and legal. You twist your cherry picked information, real or not, to build a narrative that in no way can allow for critical thinking, which requires decisions based on truthful information and facts.
All of this is why you're still arguing how America is not a democracy, and you have it backwards. The person and group who does not want democracy, and want autocracy and Trumperica, are the Trump followers such as yourself. Stubborn and wrong on the subject of democracy!!

You were allowed to voice your concerns in front of over 80 US judges who read your cases. You spoke, the judges listened, then they ruled against you. At no point were you barred from filing lawsuits.

It is amazing that a discussion about Pres.Elect Biden's cabinet starts with three comments that mention Trump. Nothing about the proposed cabinet member. And people wonder whether TDS is real... I honestly wonder what so many people will do with their time when they don't have Donald Trump living in their heads.
sunfunbun
When Trump says he lost the election, congratulates President Biden and Vice President Harris and leaves the WH, believe me, we will be happy!
He's a non issue. Just a bothersome sore still hanging around, which requires a bit more attention.
Attilathehungry
P.Smith, I believe that "you" need to win both Georgia senate races in order to tie the GOP in the Senate. Which makes future VP Harris the tiebreaker as necessary.

Here's an example of a way Trump's Republican Party 'fights'. Wack wack.

trump is set to lose in Georgia, yes Georgia!!!!!!
Doubt it.
*Facing defeat after a string of court losses, Trump made a surprise call-in appearance at a Republican state legislature hearing in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where he *stated bluntly that “we have to turn the election over.”

I wont take Mayor Pete seriously until there is one article that doesnt mention he is gay.
they even have to add this disclaimer "would be the first openly gay cabinet secretary confirmed by the Senate" to try to make him sound "historic". he is neither historic nor important (but hes gay, have you heard?)
Slayer
Buttigieg is the guy with no experience, but he is openly gay so I guess that will give Biden a little more credibility with the extreme left.
Jimizo
Flat out wrong. He obviously isn’t in the Ivanka league in terms of politics but you are wrong here.
He’s a moderate. He’s also extremely intelligent. I’m sure he’ll trigger those who don’t like ‘being talked down to’ but sometimes the guy who thinks he’s the smartest in the room is the smartest in the room. I know the feeling to some extent as I have a very intelligent older brother but you learn to deal with it as you grow up.
bass4funk
Lol, Pete definitely is not.
Intelligent? Ok, but If he runs his cabinet position the way he ran his state.....well, just hold on tight...
plasticmonkey
Buttigieg was a mayor, not a governor. And you can’t “run a cabinet position”.
Jimizo
You’d have thought the nickname ‘Mayor Pete’ could have been at the very least indicative of that, wouldn’t you?
SuperLib
as well as a multistate, conspiracy, facilitated by foreign actors, including China and I Iran designed to deprive Petitioners to their rights to a fair and lawful election.

Never thought that.

Someone is having a bad day....
bass4funk
Mayor Pete? He will though....
lincolnman
No, not Mayor Pete. The guy who didn't know the difference between a Mayor and a Governor...
And you said; **It was never about overturning the election****
*But Trump said; *“we have to turn the election over.”
Wanna explain that....
bass4funk
Does that apply to Pete? Lol
I did so many times, but whatever, if I’m silenced on explaining it doesn’t matter, can’t wait for 2021 move forward, only thing you can do. Lol

Any more word on the North Korean boats delivering ballots to Maine? I think Trump's campaign advisor Republican Roger Stone - the guy who convinced Trump the US needed a southern wall - had info on that. Any Republican rapid response team members able to answer?

The usual folk got their knickers in a twist over Biden appointees. The gift that keeps giving.
