The overall take for me is that the US is becoming more and more socialist and Trumps 2016 win was a reaction to that.

If America does become "socialist" it'll be because that's what the people vote for. You'll just have to stop being a such tiresome, self-righteous "Left" obsessed whiner and learn to live with it.

So his handlers found their excuse to chicken out of the debate.

Not really. He said it shouldn't go ahead if Trump is still infectious. I assume that you believe that Trump will be 100% fit and healthy by then if he isn't already 200% fit and healthy like he's making out, so Biden doesn't really have any excuse, does he.

Every and I mean EVERY public health official says the Pence should be in quarantine for 14 days effective last Thursday. Trump should be in isolation until: A) he’s 10 days past his first symptoms B) fever free for 24 hours without meds C) tests negative 2 consecutive days.

That they aren’t doing it shows that others’ health and safety mean nothing to them

This is probably moot as eventually the euphoria of the steroids will wear off and the pneumonia he likely has will cause him to relapse.

The first “debate” was horrible. Everything about it was wrong. Trump, Biden, Wallace - all were horrible. But the debates reveal a lot about the character of the candidates and they should go forward. Even if we just learn that this is another election without a good choice. In the end people will vote for whomever they dislike less and who will support policies that support their worldview. Or not vote at all.

The overall take for me is that the US is becoming more and more socialist and Trumps 2016 win was a reaction to that. It’s sad to see a great country disintegrate like this. Socialism is destroying America and is incompatible with the US Constitution. The Dems racial and identitarian beliefs and policies are leading the country towards a dark future. Forget history and you are doomed to repeat it.

Trump has no business leaving his home. All this political theatrics is risking spreading virus to WH staff, Secret Service, and the general public.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Biden and minions will do anything to get out of another debate.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Biden the coward (He told Trump to shut his yap)

Biden the demented (Seriously? “Person, Man, Woman, Camera, Tv”?)

Biden is being responsible and rational: 2 things completely alien to Trump.

The delusion of some of you is truly breathtaking.

Joe’s is going to wipe the floor with him and rack up 300+ EC votes.

Kniknaknokkaer, that is a one sentience reality.

However both President Trump. and former vice President Biden must be put to the Political sword, called to account. Pandemic or not.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

This Pandemic, COVID-19, could, I believe will, bring about monumental political change to our lives.

Arguably, the day to day internal and external fiscal/economic functions of Government have dramatically altered.

Not in Kochi, life is life.

However, on the newsfeeds, it’s a political world of snake-infested sand dunes.

Can anyone really envisage the only choice is inevitably Trump or Biden?

There is always an alternative.

Maskless super-spreader Trump leaving Covid central is problematic.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

It’s interesting to contrast what trump and his supporters see with what the rest of us do.

The “wartime president”, coming down that escalator, Covita standing tall on the balcony and taking off the mask in a masculine swipe. Hardly a Churchill moment and certainly not what he’ll be remembered for.

The Pence-Harris debate, will or could be the determining factor to this sorry election saga.

Harris will rule the roost in Government.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

dont worry Joe, he wont have COVID by then.

Maybe but his super-spreader bio-terror event will have infected most of his staff/cabinet and half of Washington...

Trump can add "Bio-terrorist" in addition to "Stable Genius" to his list of self-descriptors...

I think Biden is trying to save Trump from embarrassment. Can you imagine what other stupid things Trump is going to say while he's got a fever and hallucinating? He's idiotic enough when he's off the meds.

If it goes ahead, Biden will definitely have to be further away from the Trump virus and it might be a good idea to use a perspex barrier, like Jamie Harrison used when debating with Lindsey Graham. Did anyone else see that debate? Miss Lindsey was shaking and swaying, like nervous as hell, everytime Harrison brought up his hypocrisy.

no we cannot have Zoom as we cannot trust that Biden will not have a Teleprompter or someone dictating his responses.

A certain gullible minority will believe that anyway, still a popular conspiracy about the last one is that Biden was wired up to a prompter. Despite, of course, absolutely zero evidence.

I imagine the drug test won’t be pushed as hard this time though. trump is certainly ‘wired’ at the moment. Roid crash is going to hit hard once he recovers. He might need a little something to take the edge off.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

As said above the Zoom style debate should be easy. Both get their speaking time with the other muted. Followed by a few minutes of open 'discussion sessions' (where Trump can do his bellow and whine nonsense routine.)

Followed by Q and A with the moderator one by one.

''no because its a lame and weak excuse to try to dodge the debate.''

It seems perfectly rational and valid to me....Unless Trump dosen't really have Covid and was just attempting sympathy drama and loading up on experimental prevention drugs?

Strict social distancing protocols/measure will need to be adhered to.

Shame they didn’t last time. Whole trump clan sitting front row with no masks on despite being told it was a regulation.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

What’s the matter? Can’t these two babies have their poop slinging match by video conferencing?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Heck this is not the 1970's, even so, both could still flipping communicate for a debate.

What a load of old nonsense

0 ( +4 / -4 )

The reason is, this preposterous debate has degenerated to a point that the political ideology has descended into a farce, fear and loathing.

it is a toxic combination. Especially between two silly old fools.

If you had it, you can recover and test negative again for 2 days in a row, then all done.

Lol no, that's not true. Dollars to doughnuts Donald will still test positive next week before the debate. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/end-home-isolation.html

8 ( +10 / -2 )

How many more people have to be exposed to him and his infectious entourage in order for him to get to the venue for his TV time?

I do like the Zoom option - with a moderator able to mute the participants.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

It would not make any difference, this debate could be virtual. or instituting isolated health practices used to protect/preventing exposure. come on.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

and you believe those fools at the CDC. They can't even make up their minds about masks.

-2 ( +7 / -9 )

thats for people who are yet to test positive but have been exposed.

If you had it, you can recover and test negative again for 2 days in a row, then all done.

-11 ( +6 / -17 )

There is no scientific or medical reason this debate shouldn't proceed.

Except Trump should be self-isolating for 14-days. Or that's just for other people?

Doesn't seem like an unreasonable request on Joe Biden's part.

I did see Trump on TV yesterday and at points he did seem to be having some breathing difficulties. For all the bravado I suspect there is a way to go before he is better again.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

no because its a lame and weak excuse to try to dodge the debate.

Cuz Covid could've drained the swamp by then?

-13 ( +10 / -23 )

Trump, as well as Pence, should be in plastic air tight bubbles. And Trump’s kids too. The coronavirus is for real. Just ask the family members of the 210,000-plus dead and counting on Trump’s watch.

4 ( +15 / -11 )

ZOOM debate, moderated by Joe Rogan.

-7 ( +12 / -19 )

The conspiracy theories about the last one are still going strong.

Biden and Wallace had no mask, but were in close proximity to Trump and they didn't get infected, odd. Getting very suspicious about this virus.

Beggars belief people believe stuff like this.

Has Trump called him “chicken” yet?
