I would be very reluctant to book a flight on a modern Boeing plane if no one from Boeing or the FAA get jail time over this.

737 Max should be scrapped.
The other Boeing aircraft are fine. It's just the 737 Max that needed MCAS in order to fly.
As for jail time, yes that may be a deterrent if applied to not just the Senior management, but to the Software Architects too. This may make a couple of people think a bit more carefully about what they're doing and the impact it may have upon Families of people who have died in those crashes.
