Yes indeed they have many supporters who are anti Israel, Anti Zionist and, in many cases, likely borderline anti-Semitic (or at least mouth lots of anti Jewish tropes).  But the way this is being reported you would think that there are pogroms being launched in the name of Labour across the UK.

Great summary by Kaerimashita.

Note that the Johnson, the UK's present prime minister, is on the record calling gay men "tank-topped bum boys", black people "picaninnies", Muslim women "letterboxes", and has also used "girly swot" as a jibe/insult. So a sexist, racist, Islamophobic, and homophobic man is acceptable as Prime Minister. A possibly Anti-Semitic one though is out of the question.

There is no more truth to accusations of "antisemitism" in the Labour Party than there is to the antisemitic "Protocols of Zion". In the last 3 years I have not read of a single convincing concrete incident (with or without proof) in the Party. What I have seen is right-wing Labour politicians who support the Israeli government and who most probably receive money from Israelis or their wealthy supporters, slander Corbyn and Party members who speak against the bestial treatment of Palestinians. It is never admitted , but antisemitism is conflated with anti-Zionism or criticism of the right-wing, neo-fascist (it pains me to use this word about Jews, a people who suffered unimaginable cruelties at the hands of their European neighbors) Israeli governments that refuse to work for peace with the Arabs. As Jews critical of Netanyahu and his ilk would say: anti-semitism, anti-schmemitism, and as anti-Nazi Germans used to say: "Der Feind steht rechts!" ( The Enemy is on the Right!), which is why the MSM have always avoided investigating the racists who infest the "Nasty" Party

There is a distinction between antisemitism and criticizing Israel's horrendous actions against the Palestinians. Haaretz is Israeli and Jewish but they are rough on the Israeli government. You have to call out injustice, no matter whose.

The previous Labour leader, Ed Miliband, has two Jewish parents.

This is straight from the Zionist playbook...Anything anti Israel HAS to be branded anti Semitic.

The Zionist know a Corbin Labour government won’t be blindly following every Israeli desire, so getting their followers to do the usual smear campaign.

Being against Israeli aggression and warmongering isn’t anti Jew. As many Jews themselves will tell you.

Part of this comes directly from Israel.

Directly from the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, no less.

"The Ministry of Strategic Affairs is dedicated to a global “war” against BDS, the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement for Palestinian rights.

To conceal its involvement, the ministry has admitted to working through front groups that “do not want to expose their connection with the state.”

The troll army Act.IL is one of many such groups. It focuses on spreading Israeli propaganda online.

What does it do with its million dollar budget?

Act.IL is run by a former Israeli spy who has argued that his outfit is involved in “a new kind of war.”

While Act.IL publicly denies being supported by the Israeli government, the group’s chief executive has admitted in Hebrew to working closely with Israeli ministries, and in English that his staff are mostly former Israeli spies."

It’s sad to see a comment like this on JT.

Yes, I thought it was sad too and close to being antisemitic.

And what about Corbyn's deliberate use of the pronunciation "Epsh-tine" in the debate to emphasize the pedophile's Jewishness.

Evidently signalling to antisemitic supporters in his party.

Corbyn is a disgrace and I sincerely hope his antisemitic party gets trounced at the election.

Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, in an article in The Times, questioned how complicit in prejudice an opposition leader would have to be to be considered unfit for office.

Mirvis is a close friend of David cameron and actually had dinner with Theresa May the night she won the Tory leadership vote, none of which is mentioned in the above article.

The school BJ or similar attended by tory MPs can be breeding ground for all of above if you mix with the wrong pupil..... I've been told. I wouldn't be surprised that our PM is into kinky stuff like S&M in his private hours.

Time to rid the country of the lying cheating Tories who have had nine years, almost a decade, to play their game. Can anyone remember anything remarkable they have achieved in that time?

Achievement? Got themselves and their mates richer for better or worse...

British minister Michael Gove to quip that Stormzy was "a far, far better rapper than he is a political analyst."

What do this man know the word on the street ? What kind of journalist was he in his 20's if he doesn't understand the power of youth?

Whatever is the verdict, as Stormzy says it's @important for voters to register by the end of Tuesday@

Johnson is in a higher weight category than Corbyn in bigotry.

Funny how the right get easily triggered.

zichi: Part of this comes directly from Israel.

It’s sad to see a comment like this on JT. This furthers the trope that Jews are manipulative and controlling in this case an entire country half a world away.

Israel (through its government) may control countries half a world away. We might see its influence in the same way we view that of Saudi Arabia or China or Cuba or even Canada.

Jews, on the other hand, are people I went to school with, people who I work with, people who I share beers and jokes with, and people who live in my neighbourhood. Most of them are not half a world away. Like all others I know, some I see as idiots, and many I love. And like others I know, some are subject to prejudice.

I don't like Rabbi Mirvis in the same way I don't like Boris Johnson. I like my friend Phillip in the same way I like my friend Steve.

For all his faults, I don't think Jeremy Corbyn has an ounce of prejudice in his bones.

The anti-semitism has been swirling around for ages. I do not know if Corbyn is anti-semetic, but he is, at the very least, enabling it in his Party. Many members, officers and MPs have been forced out by anti-semites. Many candidates for the upcoming GE have expressed anti-semetic views but were still endorsed by the Party. It's disgraceful. The Momentum cult strikes again. The Labour Party is being investigated for anti-semitism by the Equalities Commission. The Tories and their rampant Islamophobia is just as bad.

Makes you ashamed to be British.

Part of this comes directly from Israel.

Yeah, it's a Jewish conspiracy. Let's not go down that road. History shows us what happens when people start believing things like that.

Agreed! It is truely disgraceful that in this day and age we still have politicians who are hell bent on debasing democracy. IMHO, Corbyn is anti-semitic to the extreme. I am more surprised the Jewish community has not spoken out earlier, like when Corbyn refers to Hamas, Hezbollah etc as 'friends'. His whole narrative in dealing with world issues is the same conspiratorial narrative that the Nazis employed. He loves Israel's enemies, hate Israel - first order principle says he's anti-semitic.

As for pro-Corbyn supporters, here and elsewhere, if you have to grab at straws and go beyond first order principle to make your argument, you've fallen into Corbyn's hole.

'poison' of anti-Semitism has taken root

for myriad reasons, including propaganda pushed by Team Russia and others in the global alt right in their push to establish greater control by their faction of the globe's elite (so called). Check their posts for use of terms from the far right's glossary, terms similar to those used in 1930s Germany. Some use dog whistles, others are more obvious.

PTownsend: for myriad reasons, including propaganda pushed by Team Russia and others in the global alt right

This piece is about the anti-Jewish stance of the alt-Left in the UK. You have wondered completely off topic. Is Corbin now a puppet of Putin? Hmmm... There may be something to that come to think of it.

UK Labour party is anti-semitic and their leader fits them perfectly.

Interesting seeing some left wingers on this site excusing it.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Jeremy Corbyn, has openly called both Hezbollah and Hamas, terrorist organisations “friends”. Both Hezbollah and Hamas want to eradicate Israel and the Jewish people.

Momentum, Labours political activist group is infested with Anti Semites right to its core. Raging Jew haters.

Let's be in no doubt here, to attack the Government of Israel for there appalling and frankly despicable abhorrent treatment of The Palestinian people is quite rightly commendable. Especially The Government of Israel failure to comply with UN resolutions.

Stop the denial.........Don't be complicit to this most vile form of racism

This piece is about the anti-Jewish stance of the alt-Left in the UK.

Really? Or is it just just providing yet another platform for right-wing insinuations as a key component of their indefatigable efforts to slander and weaken the Left, as is also apparent in Trumplandia? As I previously noted, I have never read any persuasive, concrete case of antisemitism in the Labour Party, only examples of forthright criticism of the Israeli government by a few Party members who, in a democratic organization, have every right to do so (as indeed do Jews who oppose the racist state of Israel declared by the corrupt Netanyahu). The MSM will carry water for anyone who wants to cast aspersions and stick the label "antisemitism" on anyone opposing the Right, a crude transparent technique that would make arch-antisemite Goebbels proud. The Rabbi doth protest too much, methinks. It may therefore be apposite to ask whether Ephraim Mirvis betrays his own bias and to question whether he is himself fit to be Chief Rabbi, given his penchant to politicize his speeches rather than concern himself with spiritual matters, and given the dubious right-wing company he keeps.

That's as laughable as accusing you of hating British people because you're smearing Jeremy Corbyn.

The BBC's Tuesday evening news was another unsubtle hatchet job on a defenseless Corbyn highlighting the mysterious, unsubstantiated charges of "antisemitism" "swirling around" him and his party, again without any proof whatsoever. If the rabbi sez it's so, it must be true!? The Jewish establishment is now openly meddling in politics with their witch hunts, hoaxes and fake news. Cui bono? The BBC's recent scandals involving doctoring video footage to hide the hapless Bozo's gaffes is just more proof of their outrageous bias as they put their heavy hand on the scales in an attempt to tip them to the Tories.

zichi: Netanyahu has made Israel a country just for Jew nationals denying the same equal rights to all the citizens of Israel. How could anyone support that?

Arabs living in Israel have more rights than those living in Palestinian territories. Explain that?

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

@zichi

So why does criticism against Netanyahu

Because Corbyn didn't just stick to criticism of Netanyahu, or his policy. His entrenched hatred of Israelis is on display too. Corbyn considers Hamas, Hezbollah friends because they want to annihilate the people of Israel, that to me is a pure anti-semitism, the last regime to have that kind of mentality was the Nazis.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

and more...

The Israel Innovation Authority is actively targeting a tech workforce of 20% Arabs, backed with real loan guarantees by the government. It is obviously a win win situation to foster skills in the Arabs population. If only people like Corbyn could put away his prejudice and encourage Arabs to work with rather than against Israel.

This article is about how the frightened Right have weaponized antisemitism to attack the perceived "enemy", "the Left" by exploiting the goodwill and great sympathy of non-Jews for the Jewish people who were victims of the worst mass killings in modern times. These cynical accusations of antisemitism are bound to eventually backfire to harm further the tarnished standing of the Jewish cause and cast doubt on their bona fides. As a great admirer of the magnificent Jewish contribution to humanity, I would hate to see a resurgence of real antisemitism as a result of this fake campaign to bring down Corbyn and the Labour Party.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@zichi: Because Israel arabs might have more freedoms than those in Gaza does not make them equal to the Jewish nation.

There are Arabs in the Israeli Parliament. How many Jews are in the government anywhere within the Palestinian territories? The very idea is unthinkable as any successful non-Muslim candidate would surely be killed by Hamas.

Unless you think that they are fictitious in some way.

I would always say that when the group that is the target feels that it is being attacked or discriminated against, it is usually a case of no smoke without fire.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

There will never be a solution unless an agreement can be reached between the Jews and the Palestinians

and Corbyn won't be a positive contributor to this process. If you say neither would Netanyahu, I woukd agree with you too. BUT, you seem to confuse a particular politician with an entire country (Netanyahu, Israel), or at least refer to them interchangeably to argue your point. Similarly, when it comes to the sins of the Labour Party, you conveniently isolate Corbyn, or inclusively lump them all together to argue your point. It's not convincing.

There is a reason the Labour Party had to have an enquiry into anti-semitism, there is also a reason why Corbyn had to 'regret' his words, and it's not because of wanting to help in the Israeli / Palestinian peace process. It's for their, his own political hide.

and this ^^^ is what the Labour Party is about. Attacking the messenger that dare to speakout to defend against what is considered universally as the most regretable act of inhumanity in the history of the world.
