Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said last week he did not expect that was likely in the Senate.

Any time McConnell, one of America's most corrupt politicians, takes a position the question has to be asked: How does he benefit financially from this.

Good on Sen. Menendez and others supporting him for drawing attention to the ongoing horrors in Yemen and the US's roles in it.

The US should stop supporting the brutal Saudi regime while subsidizing major US war industries.

Unfortunately even if the US stops supplying weaponry, Saudi Arabia is so oil rich it will just buy from Russia, China, France, Germany or the UK instead.

The best way to stop wars for oil is stop burning so much oil and gas and start using more alternatives.

*Any time McConnell, one of America's most corrupt politicians,*

Evidently, you haven’t heard of Hillary Clinton or Adam Schiff.

Good on Sen. Menendez and others supporting him for drawing attention to the ongoing horrors in Yemen and the US's roles in it.

Menendez, a politician who is to the core not only corrupt but an alleged sex offender.

“Over a six-year period,” Menendez “knowingly and repeatedly accepted gifts of significant value” from a friend (an ophthalmologist who, the letter did not say, is currently appealing a 17-year sentence for $73 million of fraudulent Medicare billings). The gifts included air travel on private and commercial flights, a luxury-hotel stay in Paris (the committee’s letter is demurely silent about Menendez’s accompanying girlfriend), and 19 visits to a Dominican Republic villa. He neither publicly reported, nor received written permission for, these gifts. In addition, the committee said, Menendez improperly intervened with federal agencies with “persistent advocacy” for his friend’s business interests.

The US should stop supporting the brutal Saudi regime while subsidizing major US war industries.

Although to a large extent true, that would be a stupid and unwise geopolitical, emotional thing to do.

Unfortunately even if the US stops supplying weaponry, Saudi Arabia is so oil rich it will just buy from Russia, China, France, Germany or the UK instead.

You just said, Russia...that’s exactly the point!

*The best way to stop wars for oil is s*top burning so much oil and gas and start using more alternatives.

Yeah, I agree but that’ll take time, we are nowhere near that point yet.

lol..... Most of the products you use everyday are courtesy of the oil and gas industry.

@reese lol..... Most of the products you use everyday are courtesy of the oil and gas industry.

And by burning so much oil and gas we're using more of those resources than we have to.

There are alternatives ways of making many of those everyday products without using oil and gas. (Soy beans and corn, for example)

Menendez, the most senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, asked the Senate to move to immediate consideration of a resolution disapproving of one of the deals, to sell precision-guided munitions, which are made by Raytheon Co, to Saudi Arabia.

Yeah, let's let Saudi Arabia buy this stuff from the Russians. Good idea. Right?

The corrupt Dem, Menendez, appears to be atoning for his murky past by introducing this laudable resolution to rein in US support for the unforgivable atrocities perpetrated on millions of innocent people in Yemen. We all need to be reminded that by using oil we are directly supporting the state terrorism of Saudi Arabia and of those rogue states which brazenly support the criminal regime of MBS, the mastermind behind the brutal murder of the Saudi journalist, Jamal Khashoggi, according to the latest UN report. Jared Kushner is alleged to have advised MBS to silence (kill) all the members of the Saudi gang hired to commit the murder, but this ball will soon land with a thud in his father-in-law's court to test the content of Trump's character.
