The cops must have been instructed to go for the legs this time.

A really good and healthy society, with a great and cool relationship with the firearm.

shouldn't the story read: unsecured guns jumped into the hands of a 12 and 14 year old and started shooting themselves at police?

there is a definite problem here, and its not the unsecured firearms.

The problem is that all kids aren't armed, to be able to stop kids like this.

Someone just has to make sure they either don't have raging hormones that cause their mood to shift, or they have to make sure that the guns are taken away from the kids before days when their mood isn't good. It's simple.

Oh, and lots of thoughts and prayers. Lots of them.

Our good friends in the former Republican, now Insurrectionist Party, and their cohorts in the NRA doing their best to turn Red States into Afghanistan....

Guns for everyone...open carry, concealed carry, carry as many as you'd like...

And the gun death cycle continues...

More guns left unsecured. That's the real crime.

No it isn't. The crime was when the 2 delinquents broke into a home. That should be obvious. At 12 and 14, they knew better.

the 14-year-old had said, "I'm gonna roll this down like GTA," referring to the video game Grand Theft Auto, Chitwood said.

So the real blame should be on video games. There's the proof. BTW, I enjoy GTA from time to time. Love the soundtrack.

I'm not sure they were 'easily available.' They were in a locked house. It took the kids breaking in to get at them.

That seems pretty easily available to me...

I think living in such an environment for so long has you thinking that is normal.

What The heck is wrong with Child protective services, this is just unbelievable, how is it that they put these troubled foster kids in problematic homes? Someone needs to be fired and someone did not do the job properly, this one girl was a repeat offender the system has filter, I hope she learned a valuable lesson, but at the same time it’s not roll that the child was not properly put in a decent home and it was not well supervised. This is just crazy. I hope that someone will be held accountable at CPS for technically allowing this tragic situation happen.

So you're a criminal in the making, and should be locked up. That's the obvious conclusion. Video games like GTA make people do violent things, and you play video games like GTA. Therefore, you are a threat to our society.

Unless, of course, you don't really believe that video games are the cause of gun violence, which is borne out by the evidence of every other country where GTA is sold not being the bullet-strewn hellscape that is the US, and are just trying to find any other scapegoat than the sickness that is America's addiction to firearms and murder.

But I'm sure you wouldn't be that obtuse. So we must lock you up.

And the guns industries and their shareholders, cheer,

knowing weapon sales rise after many shootings. Sick sick country made sicker when so many unstable indiviuals can eASILY get a weapoN, ESPECIALLY SOMETHING LIKE A SEMI-AUTOMATIC HANDGUN, A DEVICE ONLY GOOD FOR SHOOTING PEOPLE.

They were not in a foster home they were in a group home.

Essentially the same thing.

You could judge the overall circumstances, her father’s responses, the officer’s actions, the homeowner’s responsibilities, etc for yourselves before commenting further.

Responsible firearms enthusiasts know you keep your firearms locked in a gun cabinet, with trigger guards, and your ammunition stored in a separate secure location...

The bigger and more important question is, why was this child put in a home that had problem itself?

The gun-nutters care nothing about safety

This is about child neglect and the ball being dropped by CPS.

and security because they only have their guns to show off given their insecurity and inadequacy

No, it has nothing to do with insecurity, it has everything to do with slipping through the cracks, as a gun owner and collector, I fear no man, but I sure do love my collection, but I’m a gun enthusiast collector and responsible. Lincoln, less emotion when you try to make an argument.
