This protectionist group. Canada, Mexico and the E U should dismantle their trade barriers for truly free trade and then talk. For decades they have ripped off America.

But why decide on really dumb tactics to accomplish the goal? Those countries responded in kind, and next they will go to the WTO. And we have a surplus with Canada, despite Trump’s lie, which again is just a dumb strategy.

If I told you that I wanted to eliminate the trade deficits, would you support any dumb thing I did?

Blaming other countries for this and that, but hey let's not look what the USA has done throughout history.

I have been involved in trade for many years and I know what I am talking about.

What kind of trade was facing huge barriers?

President Trump, stay the course, as we know there is nothing that America cannot manufacture. 

That's true but also true for many other nations.

The US lacks the manufacturing grid, the know-how and skilled workers to make products that are made offshore. It takes years to accomplish that and, as I said at another thread, probably at the time that Melania runs her husbands museum.

As I have said before, America can raise enough agricultural products to feed america and much of the world.

Oh definitely, but the rest of the world can do that too, so that could be on the longer run 'Little House on the Prairie' again.

All six of the other G7 countries are now paying the tariffs, which are largely aimed at curbing excess production in China

trump (Trump) does not care as this is one of his campaign slogans he promised to trump (Trump) supporters.

This guy has one of the most slappable faces. He and his wife always have this "We're making tons of money" look on their faces. Anyway, wasted enough time writing this. Reclaiming my time.

Trade barriers and hidden trade barriers are too numerous to mention. For those that are not in trade, have no Idea about this. They can start with research, soft lines, hard lines, agricultural and processed food.

What is being manufactured in the world today, most modern day technology came from the US. To give you only one of many, television.

Agriculturally, there are countries that have difficulty in feeding themselves, yet the statement has been made, "The rest of the world can do that too." With this I disagree. It is difficult to communicate with those that do not understand the causes of trade deficits.

I have been involved in trade for many years and I know what I am talking about.

What intelligent tactics would you put in place to have these countries trade barriers dismantled?

Many of their trade barriers are hidden to disguise their tactics of restricting and inhibiting American imports into their countries. I could write a book, as I have over the years, experienced such unfair trade that drives up the cost of my imports from America.

These hidden trade barriers are more detrimental to free trade than the taxes themselves.

This also holds true for Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China. One sided trade, with huge trade imbalances in their favor. Enough is enough! If it takes a trade war to bring about free trade - so be it.
