I would not be sure about that. The virus and the virus panic are still expanding.

Wuhan virus will be a learning experience for the world; it may prove beneficial if the lessons learned help prevent the spread of a future more lethal pandemic.

This disease is a problem to contain because of the long incubation period without symptoms where the infected person is still able to unknowingly infect others. Mistakes and mishandling of the outbreak has undoubtedly been present in more than one country, we are learning as we go, not having to deal with anything as difficult as this since Spanish Flu and the world is vastly more interconnected and individual mobility so much easier than it was a century ago. Well. the Austrians were concerned over those coming from Italy who may have the virus, so simply closing off the borders helps. But hey, this is Europe - no borders right ?

Naturally, Japan won't. It's too big of a risk for the economy and no one in the government has the balls to make that decision.

About a month ago Japan officials were under criticism for their mishandling outbreak crisis inside a cruise ship off Yokohama Bay. Some critics then often referred to the "well-done" case of another cruiser Costa Smeralda which disembarked 6,000 passengers in an Italian port city, only 12 hours after declaring the suspicion of infection were "cleared" with a couple being negative.

It remains unknown, too early to conclude whether the cruiser case is directly responsible for the current deadly outbreak.... but there is an indication. Negligence, initial mishandling are not at all unique to Japan.

They'd better start to stop moving around because in France the spread comes from Italy.
