Chasing China it seems.

Perfect storm of a populist government that took away funds for public hospitals, interrupted the logistics of medicines (supposedly to break monopolies but actually just to give them to people with close ties to the government), a large percent of the population not listening to the experts advice and a president that put his popularity above the safety of the people.

Yea, the cartels don't approve of that. Business is booming!

And it may cost them:

"One question centers on vaccine efficacy and safety: several of the Chinese-developed vaccines appear to have lower efficacy rates, which some experts worry may have contributed to a surge in Chile’s cases despite a high vaccination rate."

Have been to Mexico twice during the pandemic for dental implants.
One think that I noticed on the streets, majority of the population did NOT wear the mask or the mask was just covering their chin and not the mouth and the nose. I would say that only about 10% were wearing the masks properly. Social distancing?? What is that?
Though bars and strip clubs were officially closed, you could go up the stairs and everything was going on full contact without any masks.
Doing the simple things like wearing the mask properly in public places and streets could have reduced the number of infections.
I said at the time that Mexico was a dangerous country to visit and it shows in the number of infections.

Terrible tragedy that MEXICO has such a high rate of coronavirus.
The implications for surrounding communities must be taken into consideration when trying to contain these cases in MEXICO.
It is a wonder as to how so much of the population has become infected. Hopefully they can become well in MEXICO.

So is Russia, which has been a major to Mexico's vaccination efforts for almost half a year already.

Yes, thanks to Chinese and Russian vaccines.
And much better than constant terrorist attacks killing innocent civilians and trying to confiscate land from democratic free nations.
