This was a dumb move by Trump. There is no more dialogue between the Palestinians and the US on a peace process. It’s officially dead.
But I hope the benefits of your symbolic new embassy will outweigh that. Trump wanted to look tough and Bibi took him to the cleaners.

According to Steve Bannon, casino mogul Sheldon Adelson drove Trump's decision to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem.
Adelson -- who once proposed dropping a nuke on Iran -- was also a major influence on Trump's decision to exit the JCPOA.
It seems that $35 million -- the amount Adelson spent to help elect Trump -- buys you not just an embassy, but your very own Middle Eastern war.
This is is not democracy, it's plutocracy.

Trump wined loudly about the cost or relocating the embassy in London (until he found out the deal was made prior to Obama). How much is this move costing? How much higher will the monthly security costs be?

Trump even getting a soccer team named after him:

I imagine it'd be a bigger target now though, since it's become a symbol beyond just an unrenowned consulate.

Not sure what MSM you're reading but these protests are about Hamass March For Return, a movement that has been ongoing since late March. Good ole lying Israel and Nutenyahoo is just using the embassy issue to crack down on them. Check it out please.

The current so called peace process was dead in the water, it was and never would go any where. The Palastinians and hard line arab countries still demand the eradication of Israel. As long as that is their bottom line not surprisingly the Israeli's are not going to agree.
Hopefully this will be a kick in the rear for them and get them back to the negotiations with a real intent, as they realise the longer they are recalcitrant the more they have to lose.
