Past time for the US Navy, Army and Air Force to conduct realistic training with the Taiwanese armed forces both on Taiwan and in the US. Rotate front line US forces through Taiwan to conduct training so there is essentially a continuous US military presence in Taiwan. Replace the traditional port calls to Hong Kong with port calls to Kaohsiung.

Normally this would be a good thing.

But Pompey is showing what a coward he and his boss are. They had 4 years to do this but choose 10 days before the end of trump’s presidency, knowing well they won’t have to deal with the consequences!!!

About time. Taiwan needs to bump up all trade and try to become recognized by the UN.

Mr. Biden should take a page from his immediate predecessor and the normalization of relations between Israel and several of her Arab neighbors. Coax and cajole some economically important western nations to recognize Taiwan. Don't pull diplomats from China, don't formally renounce the "One China: policy, just establish consulates or similar in Taipei. Wait until there are five of six such nations ready to recognize Taiwan and make a joint announcement. At the same time the US and perhaps UK, Australia and Canada if they are among the nations recognizing Taiwan, should hold joint military exercises with Taiwan. Present China with a fait accompli. Mr. Xi and the whole of the CCP will be apoplectic. But, would China pull it's diplomats from these countries, expel their diplomats and risk their vital overseas trade? And if China did indeed do this would it not be a good thing? The west has leverage with China. Time to use it.
