yes Russia has a great history of non-threatening diplomacy! (sarcasm)

Putin is playing his version of the "Great Game" and doesn't care who dies any more than a Mafia Don cares who dies.

As Trump would say: "nice". If Trump lets Putin get away with this, he's a patsy. Let's watch how this plays out.

Please elaborate. Get away with what?

Vlad can go talk to Un then and tell him to knock it off.

So some posters on here feel violence is more productive than dialogue? If so, could you kindly sign up at the nearest army recruitment center?thanks.

It's pretty certain that North Korea has nuclear weapons capability so any violence directed towards the north may result in an escalation.

Now, dialogue is the only way.

Putin is quite correct in his assessment but what is not considered is that past US actions are actually a reason NK has acquired nuclear weapons.....

Like what? The Korean War which was started by North Korea crossing the 38th parallel and invading South Korea? Or do you mean the US forces in ROK and joint exercises to ensure that they won't do it again?

It's only natural that Russia is protecting its greatest ally and cultural partner North Korea. They are essentially the same

I think you pretty much answered your own question. The Korean War never ended and the belligerents then are still belligerent today. There is no way that the DPRK could win in a conventional war against the US and the ROK, a fact that has been driven home by repeated demonstrations of military power displayed in joint war games conducted in the region. The DPRK's only hope of deterring, what they see as an imminent invasion, is developing nuclear weapon technology.

Ugh; I find myself agreeing with this man. Yes, dialogue is preferrable. It's a shame; a huge chance was missed nearly 23 years ago when Kim Il Sung and Kim Young Sam were poised for talks (thanks to the Carter visit) and then the elderly Kim went and died. Seemed he'd mellowed somewhat in his final years.

Anything to substantiate this claim, or it is just another example of ignorance?

@zichi

Soviet Union and China were part of the invasion of the south

False statement. Kim First started the war on his own. China entered the war in November 1950, Soviets even later - with no ground troops, only with fighter planes with strict orders not to cross the 38th parallel.

Talking is a great recommendation. Though it takes a great Person/Company/Nation to actually Listen.
