Republicans on Saturday asked that former Vice President Joe Biden's son and the whistleblower whose complaint triggered the impeachment inquiry into U.S. President Donald Trump be called to testify in public hearings that begin this week.

I don't suppose they have many other options when the President's conduct is pretty much indefensible.

I look forward to Trump being hoisted by his own petard.

Tia is nothing other than an attempt to disrupt and confuse the impeachment process by throwing doubt on two individuals who are now entirely irrelevant to the investigation.

If I were a republican trying to protect the President, it is exactly what I would do. And no doubt if the circumstances were the other way round, Democrats would do the same to protect a Democrat president.

Even of the whistleblower is the most partisan hack, it doesn't matter because the substance of his report has been corroborated by soooo many of Donny's own people. (Claiming any alleged whistleblower bias makes the entire impeachment inquiry invalid is like claiming bias of a confidential informant invalidates his information that has been corroborated and resulted in arrests. It simply is not how reality works.)

And what does Hunter have to do with Donald withholding weapons assistance to an ally?

If Biden's son is to testify, then Trump's kids should also be called to answer similar questions.

If the whistleblowr is the CIA operative, he has security clearances that allow him access to confidential information, which defeats the Trumpophile argument that someone leaked classidied information to the whistleblower.

The initial whistleblower could be the most biased individual in the history of bias or individuals and it wouldn't matter because his information has been corroborated by so many of Donny's own people.

It's quite telling that Trumpophiles are more concerned with who the whistleblower is than with what Donny did. It's the equivalent of shouting, "LOOK
