Foreigners do not have to like it or agree with it.

Yup. I’m tired of - primarily non-Australians - thinking that Australians have a mindset similar to that if the US.

No, we don’t.

What a ridiculous authoritarian government. It seems that they like it now, they just take away people freedom so easily, on demand, just like that. What a disgrace. For 22 cases, they have become insane.

Perhaps they dont wish to end up like the "land of freedom", the US, where they have lost all control over it, or the other abject catastrophes like the UK and parts of the EU that acted far, far too late.

You act when you have 22 cases, NOT 22,000. NZ proved that.

Good move, all the best to South Aussies.

Go hard and go early, is the only way to go, or go home.

Australians agree with the responses and measures taken. Foreigners do not have to like it or agree with it.

We know its right for us and that's what counts. Well done SA.

Would appreciate the same sentiment when you comment about Japan’s response to the pandemic. Ain’t going to hold my breath, though.

I dont believe I have ever commented on Japans response to covid before. But if the vast majority of it's citizens are happy with Japans method of containment and how the government deals with it then nobody should criticize. I certainly wont.

@Goodluck

I think we’ve handled it quite well to date, yes there have been some stuff ups and ridiculous panic buying of toilet paper etc (!) but on the whole I’m quite impressed with our response.

Good job Australia. A good example of government policies being especially effective thanks to responsible and mature everyday citizens.

Peter Collignon is not someone I would bother to listen to. There are much more worthwhile epidemiologists in Australia.

The death and destruction in Australia response is far higher than the 85 year olds dieing.

you can’t compare Australia to USA or Europe or Brazil or India case.

Australia has a very bad way of treatment
