That's what a proper response looks like.

Korea leads by example.

Europe and America should take notes, what a humiliating catastrophe this virus has been to them. One day they may even learn from Korea.

I bet more than 10 people will go to church, especially for Xmas

Yes. Churches have been the major sources of the covid-19 spreading in S. Korea. It is the same in some of the western countries and also was during the Black Death. Infinite ignorance is universal.

Nihonview Today

So much for the gold standard country Together with Germany, south korea was suppose to have under control. Testing and Testing, that what people screamed. It looks like it did not work. Did it?

Denmark has conducted 8,483,883 tests for the entire population of 5,801,394, which means testing twice for each citizen. Still, the number of deaths is 935 with 107,116 cases, and the death rate per 1M population is higher than S. Korea by a factor of 15. The daily number of cases on Dec 12 was 3,335 in Denmark whereas 950 in S. Korea with a 50M population.

The total number of tests so far is greatest in the US, 221,195,630 (666,491/1M pop), nearly every two persons, but the number of deaths is greatest there. In S. Korea, it is 66,233/1M pop, just a 10th of the US.

Massive tests alone can not achieve so much. While "Test, test, and test" has been the strategy of containing the covid-19 in Germany and other countries, it has been "Test, Trace, and Treat" in S. Korea. Trace and Treat can not easily be implemented. S. Korea did not need massive tests because of its effective Trace and Treat.

So from YOUR link Nihonview lets take a look.

office hours are changed to clear roads to avoid students getting stuck in traffic and flights are rescheduled to prevent the sound of plane engines disrupting the English listening test.

Students will have their temperature checked before entering the testing facilities and will need to wear masks throughout the exam.

Arrangements were even made for 3,775 students to take the tests from quarantine, and for the 35 students who tested positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday to sit the exam from a hospital bed.

Students were separated by dividers as they sat their test, and the government established ventilation guidelines for exam rooms. Students were prevented from using cafeteria or waiting halls to minimize contact.

Public health clinics performed tests until 10 p.m. the day before the exam, to encourage students to get diagnosed if they had symptoms. Covid tests for students were prioritized.

Sounds like a proper response to me.

Nihonview., got any better ideas besides testing less? Because that's what Japan is doing. Little testing results in smaller numbers. But maybe you know how to deal with this virus, maybe you got some better ideas.

And yet recent data shows Japan has been testing more than South Korea. OK, SK has a smaller population, but still not a significant difference in the testing ratio.

SK's performance in covid containment have two prongs:

The scientific and the political. The doctors, contact tracers, testers are doing a terrific job. This is how it should be done. Without them, the numbers will be much worse.

The politicians on the other hand are hands down dumb! SK is the only country that trusts China's covid data, and has had a travel corridor for business travel to/from China since April, and also for tourism (also for specific corridors) since May.

Ethnic Chinese Taiwan don't trust China on theur covid data and is still closed.

Yeah right, that is why a half a million Koreans just sat for a college entrance exam . Hey Guys, why didn't South Korea cancel the test? " That's what a proper response looks like." someone just wrote, yeah right.

Still a much better response than the head in sand approach of Japan.

Japan 179,65 cases 2,585 deaths.

S Korea 44,364 cases 600 deaths

numbers don't lie

Your Korea which you said it's doing so perfect, has similar problems that Japan has. Let's focus on South Korean propaganda instead.

"No delays, fast decision, and this will probably show good results."

Yeah right, that is what you and others wrote two months ago. Now look at South Korean and to a larger extent Germany. Both countries are deep in cases yet again,

the chicken littles are a funny bunch. They don't mention that covid deaths in those under 50 are extremely rare and almost non-existent in children. Theres not one shred of evidence closing schools does anything other than cause a spike in depression and suicide.

They also are not in Korea and almost certainly don't have children of their own.

Gotta stay home with the kids instead of earn a living? "Too bad, sucks to be you!" they say from the comfort of their jobs in another country.

Clearly, you don't have kids.

Nor Google, to check that child deaths and serious cases are zero or very near zero in all countries.
