Even if what the London mayor said was out of line, you would think just once that maybe DT could take the high road and just say something like, "Well, he is entitled to his opinion but I disagree." Actually, I am kidding myself. When has he ever taken the high road?

Trump is an arse and should never have been invited.

Go home and bring your synthetic wife with you.

The U.S. has been embarrassed enough.

17 ( +26 / -9 )

I saw some brief coverage of Trump's arrival on TV. Melania wouldn't hold his hand as they walked down the steps off the plane and finally, he grabbed her by the wrist but she never smiled once. Not a very good impression.

As for insulting the London mayor, that just shows he has no respect for his own office. I read somewhere that the only good relationship he has is with his Twitter account.

What a disgrace to the once-great U.S. that man is. Prince William and Harry forgotten what he said about their mother, either.

16 ( +25 / -9 )

. He brings regality and hope to their circus of politics

Regality? :D An inarticulate buffoon with an orange spray tan is regal? Ooookkk

14 ( +20 / -6 )

"He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me."

And you are a stone-cold loser who should focus on fixing your own country (mass shootings, school shootings, abysmal health care, skyrocketing military spending), not UK politics. Stay out of our elections and out of Brexit, loser.

a tour of Westminster Abbey, coronation church of English monarchs for 1,000 years.

Ha! He'll probably go home wanting a coronation of his own, like he wanted a parade after seeing in Paris.

He will also commemorate the 75th anniversary of the World War Two D-Day landings

Assuming it doesn't rain?

He brings regality and hope

Can't stop laughing...... The only hope is that he goes home again without upsetting too many people and without stepping on too many toes.

13 ( +19 / -6 )

This is hilarious. Could you imagine Trump calling Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko a "stone cold loser" before landing at Narita Airport? The mayor of London is a British-born Muslim of Pakistani descent. No surprise he's not exactly thrilled to see Donald Trump flying in for a state visit to his country.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

wheres the vast majority of English people are ultra-nationalistic

Utterly ridiculous. The majority of English people are liberal or on the left if you look at how they vote in general elections. A few nutters and crackpots get elected in insignificant elections with low turnouts but even then they aren’t anywhere near a majority. Your claim is very silly.

One of the reasons the English ( I’m sticking with England ) are not ultra-nationalistic is that they are too divided to unite.

Ultra-nationalists are a fringe, not the mainstream. I know you don’t like the UK, but please be accurate.

Imagine if Trump was black, and said these things as a repuglican, imagine the backlash. Now imagine a Democrat saying these things, much less a black or woman, the repuglicans would have gone INSANE. This folks is called white privelege, and TRIBE above all. Meanwhile our conservative posters show themselves without any values or principles and excuse dear leader’s bullying, insane comments and behavior again and again. There is no LOW too low to sink to. America, as a country is dead. The yahoos have taken over.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

The current occupant of the White House, has one more time insulted the Lord Mayor of London, and confirmed again he is not fit to be President of the United States of America (POTUS).

6 ( +9 / -3 )

What a disgrace to the once-great U.S. that man is. Prince William and Harry forgotten what he said about their mother, either.

A perfect riposte to those who say Trump fights back when attacked.

The case you pointed out was unprovoked trash.

For those who like Trump’s habit of biting back, what would they recommend William and Harry do to bite back at a man who said he could have ‘nailed’ their deceased mother?

I hope they don’t say they should be diplomatic and adult. That would be hypocritical.

By the way, did Trump tweet this trash from his plane?

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Sadiq Khan? That would be the "loser" from a working class immigrant family who got a real law degree had a successful career and went on to become (without Russian help) the democratically elected Mayor of London. One of the worlds great international cities.

wish I could be that kind of loser.

how to describe anyone who can't profit as a casino owner?

5 ( +12 / -7 )

This is exactly why so many people are turning off the TV it’s because the media will do just that focus and speculate on things No one cares about. 20 years ago, if a reporter even brought this to the editor for approval, you’d get laughed out of the room followed by a scolding.

Twenty years ago, you guys were absolutely freaking out about Bill getting a little lovin'. You're absolutely ridiculous if you think you guys wouldn't have cared about this, were it a Democratic president, whether that be now or twenty years ago.

You act as if reality doesn't exist. You just say stuff that has no basis in reality as if it were truth. Then you say 'but it's my opinion, and democrats blah blah'.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Class and a stagnant economy, that’s very impressive, bravo!

Stagnant means no growth, so your analysis is cilomoletely incorrect on Obama's economy.

Ok, so liberals care about optics, I see, typical echoed similarities of the Hollywood crowd.

Completely irrelevant to Obama staying calm, cool, and collected under the racist onslaughts from conservatives led by Donny.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

the kind that Obama exhaled with every breath, even when you people were calling him and his classy and EDUCATED wife (one that didn’t lie about graduating college or about getting a work visa) MONKEYS. Remember that?

Obama got a standing ovation at the Raptor's playoff game in Toronto the other day. From the people of a foreign nation. That's something Trump will never get from a free nation when he is done. No one will ever respect him like that. And that burns.

Obama was wrong when he said Trump would never be president. But Obama was something Trump has never been - presidental.

...oh yeah, and he was also chosen by the people.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Trump is nothing but a schoolyard sandbox retort, and then even less of one. "I know you are, but what am I?" It's Drumpf who is the stone cold loser, and he knows it. I like how he pretends he never said Megan was "nasty", though, despite it being on tape.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Melania is synthetic? That's a new one.

dont think those pillows are natural do you. LOL

just take a look at her earlier modeling photos, they look far from natural, even her face doesnt look like it once was.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Why, I think it’s perfectly legit to call the mayor out, as if his title bonds him from commenting on anything or anyone. Again, we all know Trump likes to fight if provoked and the man won’t back down and if anyone thinks they can insult

So much for class Bassfunk, huh, the kind that Obama exhaled with every breath, even when you people were calling him and his classy and EDUCATED wife (one that didn’t lie about graduating college or about getting a work visa) MONKEYS. Remember that? Not a drop of sweat from Obamas brow, not one junior high school insult from his lips. Oh, how I miss the days when a president acted presidential.

4 ( +11 / -7 )

.oh yeah, and he was also chosen by the people.

But, but the EC determines who is president. (Never mind that the popular vote expresses the will of the people.)

4 ( +5 / -1 )

but the EC determines who is president.

Yeah, Obama did that twice too!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

They are completely entitled to think that if they want, no sweat off our backs.

Is that why your shrieking against the claim?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Trump is not low class but has no class when it comes to diplomacy. He is an embarrassment to the USA.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

You don't speak for the majority of Americans. The USA elected Trump,

A minority of voters elected Trump.

Every poll out there shows a majority of Americans still disapprove of his performance.

On what possible grounds are you putting forward the idea that disapproving of Trump is a minority view?

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Trump calls London mayor 'stone cold loser' as he arrives in Britain

Whether its cavorting with porn stars and Playboy Bunnies, using four letter words when talking to Boy Scouts, or acting like a spoiled two-year old insulting a host when he's a guest, Donnie sure knows how to keep it classy...

He's nothing but a Walking Sewer...and embarrasses American no matter where he goes...which is exactly what Putin wanted...

The Navy should move the USS John McCain to the Atlantic Fleet and have it follow him around during his entire trip...

3 ( +8 / -5 )

POTUS calls it as he sees it.

Khan is a loser, he's a disgrace as Mayor,

Khan’s approval rating is poor. The majority of Londoners disapprove of his performance.

Trump’s approval rating is poor. The majority of Americans disapprove of his performance .

Stone cold losers?

At least Khan was elected by a majority of Londoners.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

It's interesting seeing the Trumpets go an find some talking point about London, then act as if they have any clue whatsoever about how things are there.

They are the quintessential Ignorant Americans. It's people like them for which the term was coined, and so accurately descriptive.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

stone cold loser

To this day it's difficult to believe that this dull-minded adolescent boy is president of the United States.

Sadiq Khan — Small in stature, yet twice the man Trump could even hope to be.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

So I have to use a liberal biased rag?

Nobody said you do. I appreciate you recognizing that the National Review lacks credibility.

And yet you guys try to shove it down our throats daily.

Nope. I do love when you roll out the "I know you are, but what am I?" retorts.

No, I just have a differ point of view, no shrieking necessary.

Which you express because it is sweat off your back.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Trump is just projecting non-stop: he has long known who the real loser is. When Melania leaves him that'll just be the icing on his "stone-cold cake".

3 ( +6 / -3 )

The U.S. has been embarrassed enough

You don't speak for the majority of Americans.

This is what you posted.

Trump is the duly elected president. He won the EC. That makes him the duly elected president.

Now, instead of veering off the point, are you going to tell us on what possible grounds you are basing the claim that disapproving of Trump is a minority view given that he was elected by a minority of Americans, and every poll out there now sees majority of Americans disapproving of his performance?

You can write about the liberal media if you want, but your claim seems spurious and veering off the point seems to confirm that you know that.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Class and a stagnant economy

Fake news.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

If Republicans were to call Obama the same things liberals would call Trump we would be in another civil war by now. But he’s white, so the haters get a pass, true equality

You guys were calling Obama a Kenyan muslim and there was no civil war.

I don’t see liberals holding the socialists that hijacked their party and calling them out....why?

Because you don't look. Not to mention none of the alleged socialist make comments anywhere near repugnant as Donny's.

California was a paradise until the liberals took it over in the late 80’s and it’s been on a death spiral ever since.

Yet, it somehow has the world's fifth largest economy. Your definition of death spiral is way, way off.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

I'd recommend they talk to their grandma & dad (MIL & former husband of their deceased mum); ultimately they're the ones who invited Trump over for a state visit. I know i'd be filthy if i were them (W & H). Zero respect for the queen & charles; total/spineless hypocrites

Good point, but to be fair, I’m not sure how much say they have in these matters, but if they had veto power, they should have used it.

Still, William and Harry are where they are. What should they do? Hold their noses and extend a hand? A few sarcastic digs? Deck him? Tweet trash about him after he leaves?

This really interests me. As a pleb, I’d deck him if he spoke that way about my mum but I understand that this is a different world.

And if he doesn’t? What then?

Then he confirms what we already know about him.

there are millions more that don’t

Trump's popularity in the US merely reflects the proportion of the population whose IQ and/or morality cannot be underestimated.

Mayor Khan needs to mind his own damn business and keep out of international affairs.

Um... on this state visit a foreign leader will be spending a fair bit of time in the city that he's mayor of. So it is sort of his business. Don't you think? And shouldn't Donald Trump be minding "his own damn business" and not spout off on Tory leadership candidates he approves of or how the UK should handle Brexit?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Jacob Rees-Mogg: "Sadiq Khan's comments on Donald Trump are deeply disgraceful."

Jacob Rees-Mogg is deeply disgraceful.

The National Review is a biased, conservative rag. Opinion pieces are not evidence.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I’ve pointed this out before, but it’s worth remembering that Trump retweeted dodgy videos from a UK-based racist organization which showed Muslims in a negative light. Khan as a British Muslim would have been understandably offended by this revolting and inflammatory trash.

Apparently Harry will join Trump for a meal. Do Trump supporters think he should act like Trump and bite back at a man who spouted vulgar trash about his deceased mother? I think this is an interesting question but I can’t seem to get an answer.

Mayor Khan needs to mind his own damn business and keep out of international affairs. His city has enough trouble to keep him busy without him going on a virtue signalling binge. If anything, he should THANK the President for the millions of pounds in tourism revenue that are being generated by this visit.

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

The loathing and acrimony felt and directed towards Donald Trump personally has to be taken into careful consideration of the diplomatic consequences and the occasion.

First and foremost Her Majesty The Queen formally invited The President of the United States of America for a state visit to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the World War Two D-Day landings.

This demeaning ignominious spectacle of two most powerful countries political establishments leadership, once allies and friends, descending into such a shameful display of behaviour, frankly a degrading example of international relations is a national humiliation for both countries.

Angry politicians demonstrating under an inflatable effigies of Her Majesty The Queen honoured guest.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

It's interesting seeing the Trumpets go an find some talking point about London, then act as if they have any clue whatsoever about how things are there.

We feel exactly the same about Europeans that think they know America.

They are the quintessential Ignorant Americans. It's people like them for which the term was coined, and so accurately descriptive.

They are completely entitled to think that if they want, no sweat off our backs.

Again with their schizophrenic mentality playing the "cool card" - "oh we are so important, we don't want the American president to come here, but he wants to come because we are so special and important". Dudes, YOU BEGGED FOR HIM TO COME to your island. They beg for Trump to come, and now that he comes, they pretend they don't want him in their country. They are the ones that beg for Trump to come, beg for special relationship with America, and then pretend they don't want the US president coming to their country.

I still remember the state-owned BBC doing a 1 hour special program dedicated to discussing why did Obama use the term "partnership" instead of "relationship". They beg for recognition by the US like a kid begs his father to let him drive the car in his lap. Now that their father / master is visiting, they play the "cool card" again. I bet in 2 weeks from now they are going to be crying again - please America, recognize us, we have special relationship, right? It's you and me vs the world. We cool, right? Please notice me, Senpai.

I've noticed that, the reputation of a country is largely crafted by a small loud minority. In the case of Japan, the right-wing nuts are responsible for a lot of the perceptions foreigners have of Japan, even though most Japanese aren't like that. Same for England. They have a reputation of being a "liberal Jeffersonian democracy", yet that image comes from a tiny unrepresented minority, wheres the vast majority of English people are ultra-nationalistic, who secretly enjoy the fake image portrayed by the small minority, who they also hate.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

So many posters here completely missing the point. (surely, off topic?)

Sadiq Khan, as London mayor has seen a tragic increase in knife crime under his watch-that is not a success now, is it?

-4 ( +8 / -12 )

@Strangerland

And you know how things are in London?

Amazing...

The president should have maintained the dignity of his office, during his first state visit to Britain and keep his normal potty mouth firmly shut.

And if he doesn’t? What then?

I'll give him a F for his arrival.

Ok and?

American tourists and visitors in front of Buckingham Palace are on TV apologising for their president. Millions of American love and support the British and the royal family, including my own American family.

I’m telling you this, there are millions more that don’t including my own American family and people are entitled to hold that view.

Good, he says what he wants and the Presidents will say his. Simple.

Don't you think? And shouldn't Donald Trump be minding "his own damn business" and not spout off on Tory leadership candidates he approves of or how the UK should handle Brexit?

We say that about the Brits all the time and yet, they feel the need, the urge to make comments about our President or country, so now the tables are turned, let Trump do the same and take it, laugh it off, I do when the Brits mock America, so what’s good for the gander.

"@SadiqKhan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly 'nasty' to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom," Trump said on Twitter shortly before Air Force One landed at Stansted Airport near London. "He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me."

Well, he's not wrong...

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

As yes, Trump the stone cold loser. The loser with the billion dollar company. The loser with the trophy wife. The loser who captured the nomination, then the Presidency, from the entire Washington political class.

Wish I could be such a loser... actually, the only "losers" I see around here are sore ones.

Critique him if you must, but once you make it personal, he’ll do the same.

What a disgrace to the once-great U.S. that man is.

I think he’s a Godsend personally.
