"This is a great and disgraceful miscarriage of justice. The people of the United States were cheated, and our Country disgraced. Never even given our day in Court!" Trump wrote on Twitter on Saturday morning.

The world's most powerful man can't even get a case to court.

Can hardly be a miscarriage if he has no evidence.

(cue certain Trump supporters making random points about Hunter Biden and Liberals).

Mr. Trump has never displayed any understanding of the US Constitution or the division of powers written into that Constitution. One state cannot interfere with how another state conducts an election. The Elections Clause reads:

"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators."

No place in this clause mentions any role for the courts. Congress, not the courts, may alter state election regulations through the lawmaking process.

The other matter not addressed in any of these lawsuits are the many down ballot elections. If a ballot is fraudulent, then are not all the other downballot votes similarly fraudulent? Would not candidates in these down ballot elections protest having their votes invalidated by a court? How about ballot initiatives? Invalidating millions of ballots in various states could upend multiple initiatives. How would Senate and House of Representative races be affected?

17 ( +22 / -5 )

the greatest voter fraud ever perpetrated on the United States of America

You lost. You are not a victim.

In a series of apparently frustrated tweets, the president also lashed out at his attorney general after the Wall Street Journal reported that Barr knew earlier this year about an investigation into Biden's son Hunter's taxes

Well gee, the DOJ kept their investigation of YOU secret until after the election.

23 ( +27 / -4 )

What a pathetic male. Given the far right's long expressed binary view of existence exemplified in Bush 43's 'You're for us or you're for the terrorists' at this point any American who supports Trump and disbelieves the courts and what election officials at the national and state levels have found has declared themselves pro-Trump therefore anti-American. What do Trump and Lukashenko have in common?

21 ( +25 / -4 )

The only disgrace & fraud here is Trump.

Do America a huge favour & p#ss off, & take your spoilt sons with you.

Why not report on the hundreds of millions of dollars trump is collecting from his debased base in his fraudulent "Stop the Steal" campaign for which all of these implausible and empty court filings are just the cheerleading, the publicity, which keeps the campaign able to suck more money from the barren pockets of foolish Americans of little mind. And every media source in America ignores the money, wonders at trump's 'coup', and seems almost a co-conspirator in this last great "Steal" from his confused 'believers'. HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, so far, and all we hear is "trump lost again!" He's not losing ANYTHING! Given lemons, he's cranking out the lemonade by the marine tanker load. He might actually even become as rich as he claims if the media keeps his campaign going as well as they have. Ah, Obfuscation, thy name is Media...

I think all that fake sugar in his soda pop has affected his brain. And I'm not joking. The guy's synapses are shooting off in too many directions. His brain's gone AWOL. Can't believe West Point actually cheered for him. But, duty does weird things to some armed forces members.

China won

Not hardly. The US used to be somewhat friendly towards the Chinese. During the Reagan administration NAS North Island was periodically crawling with Chinese naval delegations in bright blue Mao suits being given demonstrations of our equipment. I still laugh thinking about a day over by the HSL squadrons riding slowly by a big Chinese delegation while they all checked out my then new BMW motorcycle. But if you are honest and can remember that far back, by 2015 the US was already talking about moving forces from other theaters to the Pacific to counter China. Hu Jintao was still General Secretary of the CCP and China's President in 2008 when Mr. Obama was elected Pres and Mr. Biden elected his VP. During the final two years of Hu's administration there were discussions of allowing private land ownership and there were experiments with competitive elections in some small towns, to test the waters and see what was possible. In short there was still some progress in China towards democratizing. It wasn't until Mr. Obama's 2nd term that Xi Jinping replaced Hu Jintao and it became apparent that Xi was going to become another Mao. Two years in to the Xi administration the US was talking about the Pivot to the Pacific. Now the talk is of an urgent summit with the EU and Europe to discuss a coordinated approach to confronting China. China didn't win anything. Xi Jinping has managed to alienate just about every nation that was once friendly towards them, including the incoming administration. Obtw, a lot of the new weapons coming into service today were begun in the 2010-2012 time frame in response to China's military development.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

But, duty does weird things to some armed forces members.

The Army has problems in their officer corps. If you look at who among his supporters and those in his administration say the most outrageously racist or otherwise offensive things they are more often than not former Army officers, often retired Generals. Gen. Milley is perhaps the exception that proves the rule, and thank goodness he is the JCS Chairman at this juncture in US history. By and large Navy and Marine officers are more moderate in their public statements. Didn't his orange highness quip that General Mattis was really "Moderate Dog" and not Mad Dog as his troops called him?

America is going to wake up on January 7th with Trump as President

Just keep flogging that dead horse. I assume some members of the House are going to try to challenge the electors from four states but it's a joint session and the Senate has not shown any interest in any of the President's many challenges. There have been occasions in the past where electors were challenged in that joint session by members of the House of Representatives but they have gone nowhere mainly because the Senate would not go along. The House is still majority Democrat and the Senate will still be missing two members from Georgia on January 6, meaning the Senate will be tied 48 Republicans/48 Democrats so it is in all likelihood a moot point. Democrats would have to vote with the Republicans to effect a denial of electors. Good luck with that. There will be a noisy challenge that goes nowhere.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

Burning Bush

The election will be decided on January in a session of Congress when the Electoral votes are official counted.

Trump has plenty of time for legal maneuvers until then.

Not really. The slates of electors selected by voters convene in all 50 states and the District of Columbia to formally cast their votes for president and vice president. The electoral college formally voting to make Biden president will render moot all of Trump’s outstanding challenges to election results.

So it will all be over after Monday. Of course, it's a moot point. Biden won the election fair and square.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

Surprising no one. Yet yesterday one poster here felt the need to lecture anti trump posters on dignity and gracious defeat.

only two people have shown the slightest shred of dignity - @bass and @Ego Sum. The rest have all been gloating in a pyrrhic victory. Very gracious of you.

trump and anyone who has been tricked into believing him deserve every ounce of ridicule, mockery and humiliation they get, and then a whole lot more. And there is a lot more coming...

15 ( +18 / -3 )

America is going to wake up on January 7th with Trump as President.

Absolutely bonkers that some people still believe this. Absolutely bonkers.

18 ( +21 / -3 )

It's over Trump.

You really expected that the people you nominated for the Supreme Court was going to 'reward' you for doing so? Utterly delusional.

It is so amusing watching this whole debacle, including watching republicans and conservatives turning on each other like rabid dogs. "Oh, why are you not speaking out against this corruption that stole the election from our president Trump? You are either with us or against us."

(rolls eyes)

10 ( +13 / -3 )

And the Republican War on Voters continues.

16 ( +20 / -4 )

HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS, so far, and all we hear is "trump lost again!" He's not losing ANYTHING!

While it's true he has bilked his cult, post election for money, he lost the election., so obviously losing something! For me, him losing the election over gaining money is obviously the main thing. In the big picture, the opposite...him winning the election and not getting any lawsuit money is worse, by far.

Ah, Obfuscation, thy name is Media...

They've reported how much money he's conned his cult for, it just isn't the biggest news, because he's trying to steal democracy and the election with that money. I don't believe all the fake news theories of right wingers, and although the media isn't always spot on, it does not always obfuscate., and I think it's wrong to get into the 'everything is fake news' train of thought.

I think in the future, news reports will tell detail as to how Trump used that money. There have been so many lawsuits, I'll be curious to see how much he's actually spent on his useless ruse.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Path 2, win the State by State vote in the House, each State gets 1 vote, regardless of population.

If this happens (spoiler alert; it won’t) why on earth would you believe trump wins the state votes? Have you been following anything recently?

14 ( +16 / -2 )

Fizzling flaccid fraudster.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

This is the difference between politics and law. Doesn't matter who you put in the judge's chair or who you put into the Supreme Court. They will only do things according to their interpretation of the law. Not because you want it to be that way. States have no legal precedence to challenge another state's laws within those states.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Amid the masked cadets the mugshot of a lone madman. Classic image of a loser!

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said Sunday it’s yet to be decided if there’ll be a Biden administration.

In an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Ratcliffe said issues outlined by President Donald Trump’s legal team, headed by Rudy Giuliani, have to be heard in court.

“These election issues, we’ll see who is in what seats and whether there is a Biden administration,” he said.

The election will be decided on January in a session of Congress when the Electoral votes are official counted.

Trump has plenty of time for legal maneuvers until then.

On January 6th, only Certified votes may be counted, if any candidate fails to received a clear majority (over 270), the vote goes to a 1 State, 1 vote system.

Trump still has a path to victory and he knows it.

America is going to wake up on January 7th with Trump as President.

After all the times Trump's court cases have been thrown out for lack of evidence, who seriously believes Congress is going to do anything but rubber stamp the Electoral College vote count?

I do not know about your country.

But my country USA was once a nation of freedom with responsibility. But the so called liberals, and the religious extremists dominated the media and supported by Chinese money. So the term allowed and not allowed is decided in the USA is now by CCP the XI.

-17 ( +3 / -20 )

A loser, is a loser, is a loser ... period!

12 ( +16 / -4 )

Trump has now lost or withdrawn 57 court cases. 57.

12 ( +15 / -3 )

But my country USA was once a nation of freedom with responsibility.

Only if you cherry-pick your history of racism, conquest, subjugation, slavery, exploitation, crime, gun violence, mass incarceration and voter suppression in the "Land of the Free". Thanks to Trump's unbridled abuse of presidential power shining a light on all the rocks he has turned over Americans can look in the mirror, if they dare, and see their real selves. These unprecedented post-election shenanigans of the president are a slap in the face of democratic ideals and can be called sedition by any other name. There must be consequences for private individual D.J. Trump and his immediate cabal of enablers.

11 ( +15 / -4 )

Ha ha still whining about LOSING?

Trump is a LOSER just like every single person who voted for him.

15 ( +17 / -2 )

"This is a great and disgraceful miscarriage of justice. The people of the United States were cheated, and our Country disgraced. Never even given our day in Court!" Trump wrote on Twitter on Saturday morning.

The above statement demonstrated how moronic and corrupt Trump is. In Trump's view, Barr and six judges nominated by the GOP in the US Supreme Court have a duty to support him at the time he needs them most.

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Fascinating to see the downfall and disintegration of the Presidency, not so much the US. Still, it's a shame to see some Americans still clinging onto the wreckage. They cannot, or will not, see the damages he has inflicted upon their nation, on their fellow Americans.

He has sat fuming and sulking since the election, whilst people are dying. Not just those executed on his say - but more people than any terrorist has killed.

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Not shocking to see such behavior by an ignorant, entitled, bullying megalomaniac or even the mindless followers, but that a significant number of supposedly mainstream politicians and media parrots attempted to undermine and overthrow a constitutional democracy is unsettling. Now they get to go about lining their pockets, business as usual, and distancing themselves... all with loads of failed coup all over their faces.

Which ones and were Republican lawmakers in those states a party to those changes to cover their own rears.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

He is never going to admit he lost because he knows he will lose his core of supporters if he does. The Republican party is following him only because they are scared of losing Trump's supporters. Trump needs the political power and influence of the Republican party in order to stay out of jail once he leaves office.

14 ( +16 / -2 )

A lot of Americans are upset about the last minute election rules changes made by Dems.

Except most of them were made by republicans in republican states. Because of a certain situation called "the Corona pandemic of 2020", which the current president seems to not care about at all anymore. (296K deaths and counting.) The only americans upset right now are the sorest of sore losers.

126 House Republicans Now Support Lawsuit To Overturn Election In Updated Brief

https://www.forbes.com/sites/andrewsolender/2020/12/11/126-house-republicans-now-support-lawsuit-to-overturn-election-in-updated-brief/?sh=68672579e5db

In concordance with Amendment 14, Section 3, of the US Constitution, Democrats who control the US House of Representatives must refuse to seat those 126 congressmen who rebelled against the United States by signing on to the lawsuit.

Seriously. Don’t seat them, and make their states have new elections for the seats. If we don’t stop this crap now, they’re just going to keep subverting democracy.

Trump had touted the Texas case as a potential game changer in his efforts to overturn the election result and openly called on the Supreme Court and state legislators to help.

22 states file counter suit against Texas at supreme court.

'without evidence'?

What? Trump's lawyers were fool enough to just show up in court with absolutely nothing in hand, simply expecting the courts to listen to and judge upon oral arguments?

The reality was submission of hundreds of signed affidavits from eye witnesses, demonstrable statistical evidence, proof of illegal ballot casting rule changes and more.

This kind of dishonest reporting is infuriating half the country.

More honest reporting would have described it as 'insufficient evidence'. At least be fair in reporting.

Lol Perfect.

Come back and post this again on Jan. 7.

If only Donald Trump gained or understood the meaning of political humility.

True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.

Donald Trump came close to a 2nd term,

And should be commended for doing so.

Donald Trump lack of political and diplomatic experience in office has been his Achilles Heel in government.

COVID-19 and the Trump administration response is an example.

And I have also been respectful and supportive to Donald Trump Presidency.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Trump is going to be Constitutionally elected on January 6th, down vote all you want, but it's a comin.

The only thing "a comin" is more humiliation for our Trump supporting friends, just like when they posted here prior to Nov 3rd; "Trump will win in a landslide"...

Nailed that one huh. We'll remind you of this post on Jan 20th...

As for Trump, what's coming are a slew of indictments - the first for the illegal Stormy payoff where he has already been named a "co-conspirator". Then the tax fraud in the Trump Org. Then the fraud in the 2016 Trump campaign. Then there's Giuliani's current DOJ investigation. And who knows how many more.

Donald will be tweeting from Rikers Island, if the Warden lets him, and still conning his supporters out of their money...

"I'm running in 2024....if I can get out for good behavior"....

I’d like to see this ‘reality’ and so would the judges. But ‘dishonest reporting’ is to blame? Interesting. Also what is the ‘and more’, sounds exciting.

"This is a great and disgraceful miscarriage of justice. The people of the United States were cheated, and our Country disgraced. Never even given our day in Court!" Trump wrote on Twitter on Saturday morning. "The Supreme Court had ZERO interest in the merits of the greatest voter fraud ever perpetrated on the United States of America."

This is hilarious - Trump dissing his own conservative majority Supreme Court - the court he selected three Justices to - and each one voted to shut down his case. Priceless...

In a series of apparently frustrated tweets, the president also lashed out at his attorney general after the Wall Street Journal reported that Barr knew earlier this year about an investigation into Biden's son Hunter's taxes.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

OK, so the Trumpist position has gone from gloating about how they will crush Biden in the election (which they lost badly) to gloating about how Trump will win in the courts (where they lost even more badly) to gloating about how Trump will somehow win through some sort of Electoral college shenanigans which nobody in their right mind believes.

After they lose that, I guess they’ll be back to gloating about how Trump is going to crush Biden in the 2024 election and the cycle will repeat.

As I expected, people who don't need to appease his supporters to keep their jobs didn't want to bail him out either. Unlike the spineless GOP bootlickers in Congress.

And Barr too - one his most loyal sidekicks - thrown under the orange bus...

He did at least show a bit of integrity so I don't think he'll be too worried.

You have to know Pence, Pompeo, Don Jr, Eric, Ivanka, and Jared are all wondering who's next...

Pence would be my guess. He's not been gushingly loyal and I'm sure he's in with a shot in 2024.

Personally I find the scariest thing is how many people believe his schtick.

Despite no evidence being produced they believe the lies and untruths.

It really does look more like an out of control cult rather than a political argument

Scary

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Democracy is about process, not result. Just so we are clear:

The Republican President and 2/3 of House Republicans support power over process.

For shame.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

You have to wonder what Mitch McConnell and the other traditional Repubs will be thinking one year from now...when the Republican Party is disintegrating...

Trump has already turned on the party and conservatives; dissing the Supreme Court and his AG Barr, all the Repub Governors and Sec of State that have certified their elections refusing to sign on to his wild conspiracy theories....and he's now criticizing the pro-Repub channel Fox News...

In turn, his supporters are now fleeing Fox and you see them chanting "Down with the GOP" the same time they're chanting Stop the Steal...

Repubs are now experiencing the consequences of their deal with the Devil in 2016...

It's never been truer - You Reap What You Sow....

10 ( +11 / -1 )

I have never witnessed such acts of political autosarcophagy as that on display now by many of the Republican supporters.

Turning on their own at the instigation of the pack leader or by the leader himself.

Decent conservatives should be very worried.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

So Trump's only way to win this election is to claim fraud was committed by Democrats, while trying to commit fraud himself. That, and trying to bully the Supreme Court to go against everything the Constitution stands for and let him hand select the electors in the states he lost, while claiming that no fraud was committed in the states he won. Wow, it sounds like something a dictator like Putin would do, rather than a leader of a democracy.

Given that once he is out of the White House he will be subject to prosecution, and most likely go to prison, is it any wonder that he is desperate to stay in the White House? He has nothing to lose at this point, and everything to gain, by subverting justice and staging a coup.

No, they cling to a man that uprooted the establishment and the sewer establishment vermin worked in unison to take the guy down, but that does help him for 2024 so as bad as this entire whatever you want to call it was you have 72+ Million that won’t forget and that number will continue to go especially for the people that continue to lose their businesses as we go into 2021 with these draconian lockdowns.

They cannot, or will not, see the damages he has inflicted upon their nation, on their fellow Americans.

Well, why would they when they know he’s not the one responsible, there’s a reason why more of these liberal leaders are facing recalls so you’ll probably be seeing more Republican governors and mayors sweeping in and ousting these Democrats.

He has sat fuming and sulking since the election,

Rightfully so, if every reliable Blue state just turned Red for Trump, every liberal would be pushing for an investigation and if it didn’t go there way, lock down the city because we already saw this summer what happens when liberals don’t get their way.

whilst people are dying.

Biden won’t stop it or even slow it down, but now you’ll probably hear conservatives keeping a ticker on the climbing infection rates.

He has sat fuming and sulking since the election,

Rightfully so, if every reliable Blue state just turned Red for Trump, every liberal would be pushing for an investigation

Which reliable Red states went for Biden? Georgia was predicted to be close. It was. Biden won it. Florida was predicted to be close. It was. Trump won it.

If California had gone for Trump or Alabama had gone for Biden, you may have a point.

You don’t have a point.

14 ( +15 / -1 )

But the court said Texas did not have legal standing to bring the case. The three justices nominated by Trump - Amy Coney Barrett, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh - signed on to the court's order without comment.

This pretty much is the nail in the coffin

Trump's supporters kept saying "Wait until the Supreme Court; wait until the Supreme Court; we have our 3 Justices". And now that it did reach the Supreme Court, 9-0 say there's no legal standing, including all 3 of Trump's hand-picked Justices

If even Trump's Justices think he has no solid argument in a Supreme Court that's 6-3 overwhelmingly leaning conservative, then it can't be said they're biased against Trump. Plus add in all those dozens of court cases that Trump's legal teams had already lost, this would be the big club to the head that they should get a clue

And no, without the Supreme Court on their side, the Electoral College won't be voting against the will of their people - because even they know they must put US democracy above all else, that it must not be damaged over party affiliation, and that doing otherwise would mean the end of their careers because the majority of American people themselves would rebel

That's another thing that pundits often forget in this equation - the American people would have their say too. Politicians cannot just do whatever they want and not expect a reaction from the American people. More than 81 Million Americans voted Biden - that's 7 million more than Trump. Do ya think they gonna take having their votes cast aside lying down?

So for all intents and purposes, this is the end of the road. Anybody wanna bet their hard-earned wage against it? Get a clue

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Trump and his cult are nuts. It time for a psychiatric intervention.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

I think this shows that learned people with a wealth of experience in the law, in the truth and in process of determining and making judgements have confirmed what has long been broadcast by mainstream media. Trump lies, Trump makes up his own facts often taken from conspiracy theories when it suits him, and Trump can not be trusted.

Trump is all about himself in everything he does its about what he gets out of it and how it makes him look.

Not concerned about pandemic casualties in lives and business but is concerned that people think he got the vaccine.

It’s over. And it be over officially on Monday, when the electors will vote to give Biden the win and Congress will be law-bound to count them. Hearing Pence announce the win for Biden will be delicious.

Which reliable Red states went for Biden? Georgia was predicted to be close.

It was close for Trump to win California, I get it.

It was. Biden won it. Florida was predicted to be close.

My sister lives in Florida and that states is unapologetically Trump all the way, not to mention most Cubans would never vote for Biden despite Bloomberg shelling the State with negative Trump ads, so I didn’t have the slightest doubt he would lose Florida.

If California had gone for Trump or Alabama had gone for Biden, you may have a point.

You don’t have a point.

I have a point like 72+ million others Americans, but we’re not allowed to view that point. Talk to the msm.

@Simon Foston: But that means Republicans have carte blanche to do the same thing and anything that helps them beat... "The Left" (boo, hiss) is all good, isn't it?

Pretty much yes. That’s how politics is played in America. Dems protested Trumps election the day after his inauguration- even setting cars on fire in Washington DC. Biden is on video agreeing with a woman who stated Trump was an illegitimate president. Left leaning editorial writers in NY Times, Washington Post and other leading papers all called him illegitimate. Hillary called him illegitimate. In succeeding elections Dems won - House seats in 2018 and the presidency in 2020.

The Republicans know that the game has changed and that is why you see continued protests against Biden’s election in 2020 just as you saw Dems protesting Trumps election in 2016.
