The priorities for the President is different.

Securing the border is paramount before economy. But, Trump is working to improve both. It is a very basic and fundamental fact of life.

A country has a territory. If that territory cannot be secured, then there is no country.

All "mobile" living creatures (animals) "secure" its territory. All animals patrol and secure its own defined territory to assure its survival. Only when the territory is secured can there be a place for economic endeavors for survival and living. And it is within that territory that economics must thrive for its existence.

Obviously, Trump played a part but ALL foreign corporations and certainly ALL US relocated companies in Mexico probably had to "pressure" Mexico. The rest of the world is suffering because of tariffs which so far may have been bearable, but if Mexico could not "negotiate" then ALL foreign and US corporation are "forced" to look for alternatives which will definitely cost so much more than they would want to bear and invest in. They already spent mega bucks to get to Mexico to begin with.

As mentioned in another article, all Mexico had to do was control their own border and prevent those migrants from entering their country to begin with. And yet they allowed that to happen. Which means that their interest is not for US border security. And that is another question which Trump has to deal with. There is much more, many ,more issues that must be addressed with Mexico.

Considering that the terms of the so called ‘deal’ were agreed upon months ago, another lie to the ever growing list.
