Trump said he would bring back water boarding.

He said we should go after the families of terrorists.

He hired the architect of the war in Iraq into his administration.

He wants more nuclear weapons.

He threatened to totally destroy a country.

He defended neo-nazis.

But sure, give him a Nobel Prize because his mean tweets may or may not have influenced Kim Jong Un.

Now, for some reality check :

The Koreas are not yet at peace.

Kim still have nuclear weapons and did not promise to get rid of it.

He still hasn't given his conditions for denuclearization.

Seems a lot of people put their carts before their horses.

Shouldn’t we wait NK got rid of all their nuclear weapons?

22 ( +23 / -1 )

Since the Nobel Peace Prize already became a joke, they can give it to anyone at this point, who cares.

17 ( +24 / -7 )

President Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize. What we need is only peace," Moon told a meeting of senior secretaries, according to a presidential Blue House official who briefed media.

To me, the Nobel Peace Prize USED to mean something, for actions, not appearances, but ever since a former president won it, for winning an election, it means nothing anymore.

Hell give it to Trump, he deserves it about as much as my pet dog, (wait, my dog does a hell of a lot better job at keeping the peace in my house)

16 ( +20 / -4 )

Obama won it for doing nothing special, so why not Trump?

13 ( +28 / -15 )

Perhaps Kim Jong Un should get the Nobel peace prize.

6 ( +15 / -9 )

Trump is not a man of peace, he is a man who attacks his fellow man. The only Nobel Prize he could ever qualify for is Hatred.

I want to ask you the same thing in flip mode about the Trump administration.

Unlike you I don*t make hundreds of endless comment attacking every aspect of what I don't agree with. I don't dismiss whole sections of society and actually try to find the middle way in most matters.

I even stated that if Trump achieves denuclearization and peace in Korea then he will be deserving of praise but so far nothing has happened. I doubt he will receive the Nobel Peace because I don't think they will award two consecutive presidents.

I don't consider every person and group I don't agree with fraud and corrupt which you do relentless.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I was always on the fence about Moon.

Statements like these don't exactly give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about him.

5 ( +13 / -8 )

Moon is being extremely clever here. Trump has shown us two immutable truths about how he thinks:

First, no deals are final for Trump, at least on Trump's side of the deal. He will flip-flop on any and all issues (aside maybe from his sexual attraction to his daughter) the moment he thinks he can get something better out of someone else.

Second, his two overriding desires are to get as much praise as possible, and to undermine President Obama's legacy anytime possible.

With Bolton in Trump's circle, there have been regular rumblings from the White House that suggest they aren't totally on board with this peace-between-the-Koreas thing. Or at least, that they are willing to throw the whole thing out the window the moment they think they can get something better, or the moment they need a distraction from Trump's legal woes. So comments from Moon suggesting Trump to be indispensable to the peace process (despite the fact that Moon and Un have done all the real work) are a way to keep Trump on task, because keeping onboard with the peace process is Trump's best ways of earning a real historical legacy on paper equal to, and arguably superior to, Obama's. It must be an irresistible draw for Ole Prez. Spanky.

Moon has been pushing consistently for engagement with North Korea and rightly deserves credit and recognition for that. But he's willing to sacrifice any attention he could get for it, indeed, he's willing to give it to a predatory man-child who never earned it, just to ensure that man-child doesn't derail the process one day when he's in a bad mood. That kind of dedication to peace is rare in politics.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

Smart move by Moon.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Serrano

zichi - We can add this to Obama's legacy - he denied Donald Trump his Nobel Peace Prize.

Except Obama isn't part of the decision process so not denying Trump anything and it's Trump who's trying to take apart the Obama legacies.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Who knows? Maybe Trump was doing something behind the scenes that we don’t know about.

But it’s not like people are going to automatically think, “Peace Prize” for the guy who Tweets “Rocket Man,” threatens nuclear war, and says dialogue is a waste of time. It’s not really hard to believe that some people might be skeptical.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

hep its just an extreme case of brown nosing Trump to get more favorable trade agreement.

I think it’s more about keeping Trump happy and avoiding any tweets that might derail the process.

Think of the opposite...had Moon said Trump hasn’t helped then we might be in a situation where Trump cancels the talks and starts firing off insults. Moon’s comment puts Trump in the spotlight in a very positive way, making him instantly on board and malleable.

Brilliant. And just before Trump meets Un. Very nice confidence boost, and when Trump meets Un who knows what will happen. Maybe Trump can parlay it into something positive. Anything can happen when you talk.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

He got it for not being George W Bush.

Then on that alone, Trump should get it for not being Obama.

That doesn’t follow. Bush started catastrophic wars in Afghanistan and Iraq which cost hundreds of thousands of lives and left the places in tragic chaos. Iraq in particular was a monstrous bloodbath.

Obama’s foreign policy legacy isn’t great but not as bad as that.

Only crazed partisans would argue otherwise.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Well, we all got robbed, because that didn’t happen.

no you didn't because you and others are not part of the Nobel Peace Award process and put nothing in to be robbed. You may not agree to any domination but robbed, no never.

Liberals ok, but not conservatives or not as many. That committee as become a total joke as well as politically bias.

According to the rules laid down by the Storting, election to the committee is for a six-year term, and members can be re-elected. The committee's composition reflects the relative strengths of the political parties in the Storting. Although this is not a requirement, all committee members have been Norwegian nationals.

The Nobel is a private organization and not under government control.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Any political leader who presides and directs military forces, except maybe in self-defence, should not get a peace prize. How can you get a peace prize for going to war?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

If they're giving out Nobel Peace Prizes like hotcakes, might as well give one to my guitar and video games! They keep me at peace!

Trump hasn't done enough to deserve a nomination. Nothing he has done points to a man of peaceful change.

4 ( +11 / -7 )

Well if this all leads to permanent denuclearization and NK put back into line, then I’d say Moon may have a point

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Smart move by Moon. hep its just an extreme case of brown nosing Trump to get more favorable trade agreement. Everybody knows Trumps kryptonite is his ego and praise, even if he hasn't really done much to deserve it.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

@Clamenza

Let’s check the NY Post and Fox News?

Tell you what, let’s not.

I know Trump gets his conspiracy trash from the National Enquirer, but we expect higher standards here. I have too much respect for my iPad to click on links like that.

A serious discussion about the comparitive merits and demerits of the foreign policies of the Bush and Obama administrations requires people to be serious. Please rise to a serious level. We are not discussing the Kardashians here.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

It's very dangerous for our country when every other leader around the world knows that all you need to do is blow smoke at Trump and you'll get anything you want from him.

If anything, he should get the Nobel prize for physics for the way his hair defies gravity.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Trump doesn’t deserve crap! All he did was say it wasn’t possible to have peace and insult the leader of North Korea. If anyone deserves it, it’s Kim Jong Un and Moon Jae In. In fact, they should make a special nobel peace medal shaped like the yin and yang and give each of them half to wear around their necks. Then when they meet, they can join the pieces. Now that would be a PR coup.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

bass4funk

So anything that has entitlement attached to it or socialism is a form of cancer for me.

so how do you cope with the many "socialist" programs you live under and use while living in Japan including sending your children to school.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

The Nob prize more like.

3 ( +8 / -5 )

I’ve got no time at all for the bloke and his circus of a presidency. But if the result of his blowhardery is the reunification of Korea and the end of the horrific suffering of those in the North, he’ll deserve the Peace Prize.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Obama got it BEFORE DOING NOTHING

3 ( +7 / -4 )

indeed, as Israel proved today, Obama was either the biggest moron or the biggest traitor to ever sit in the Oval Office

Obama does not even make it to the list of the 10 worse presidents, but both Nixon and G W Bush are on it

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Trump for Nobel Peace Prize? That's probably one of the funniest things I've read so far this year. Moon, such the comedian.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

now that its been proven Obama delivered literally billions of US dollars in pallets to the Iranians against the best interests of the US

So you think it would have been better to wait it out and be forced to pay $10billion instead of the $400million he did pay?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Someone with a brass pair and not a spineless weak and scared wimp that only believes in appeasement.

Yes, agreed. His use of drones was spineless and of course, his killing of Bin Laden to appease the crowd back home was pretty lame, right?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

It's been really enjoyable watching all the Trump haters going beserk at the South Korean president's remarks whys that, Moon is either stating something that isnt entirely of Trumps making or even mostly for that matter, or hes just brown nosing Trump to get more favorable trade conditions

3 ( +5 / -2 )

So anything that has entitlement attached to it or socialism is a form of cancer for me.

But you constantly conflate socialism with liberals.

How can you, as an alleged journalist, get something so very basic, so fundamentally wrong?

3 ( +6 / -3 )

lol, hilarious, I can imagine the left foaming at the mouth in the U.S at the thought.

Obama only got it because he was the first black American president. He got it for being black. That is the only reason and everybody knows it. It was a grand virtue signal. Sad that the Nobel committee chose to go down that path but that's the way it is. Aung San Suu Kyi doesn't do much for the reputation of the Nobel either at this point.

If anyone deserves it, it will be the leaders of the two Korea's if, and only if, a peace treaty can be signed and we can see a normalcy of relations between the two Korea's. Unification is a whole other level. But given Kim Jong-Un's track record of brutality, awarding the Nobel to him might be a bridge too far, although when you consider the level of Obama's drone strike authorizations....Its all very messy.

I personally think at least half a dozen factors are at play right now

Trump has been the most forceful President on the issue for decades. No doubt and in the end, it has helped.

Moon has taken a softer line towards N.Korea which has also probably helped. Good cop/bad cop

The recent Winter games was a great success for South Korea and the North had the opportunity to see what their cousins are capable of doing. They got to enjoy a very harmonious, enjoyable sporting event and perhaps thought, Why shouldn't we be a part of this? They also got to see a lot of Westerners up close and perhaps some of them even enjoyed their company. Westerners are not the devil. Even Americans.

China got nasty with the sanctions for the first time with North. China did more on that front than ever before. That must have presented a wake up call. And we should give China credit for that.

The overall weight of sanctions is perhaps becoming too much to bear.

The main nuclear test site is dead

There you go, at least half a dozen reasonably solid factors I feel that have lead us to this point. I hope a peaceful path continues.

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Elected president, still with high approval ratings who, we might find out, really brokered the deal of the century in the region.

vs

Pissed-off-about-everything pseudo liberals with too much time to kill and need to bash on social media...

I wonder who will win.

(I did not vote for him but really find this ironical)

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Kim Jong Un gets my vote and also for Time Cover of the Year

I think all 3 should hold hands and be on the TIME cover.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Trump should win Nobel Peace Prize, says S Korea's Moon

President Moon Jae is either attempting to flatter Trump, or, if he's really serious, a genuine moron.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said U.S. President Donald Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the standoff with North Korea over its nuclear weapons program, a South Korean official said on Monday.

Haaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....

I'e not had such a good laugh in weeks... oh please stop.

Did Trump change Kim's mind? Unless you interview him under truth serum we'll never know.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Neither of the warmongers (Trump or Kim) deserve it. Moon delivered on his promises to revive the sunshine policy and we are now seeing the results.

Trump has promised only threats and violence. He deserves impeachment, let that be his prize.

(And neither Kim nor Xi are socialists, btw)

2 ( +5 / -3 )

So why didn't Obama's soft diplomacy and apologetic foreign policy successful in getting Kim to willingly denuclearize

He hasn’t denuclearized yet. I can remember Trump supporters here advocating a full on attack saying Kim can never be trusted. That was when Trump was talking about a sea of fire or swamp of fire or something like that.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

You just don't want to admit that Trump was able to accomplish something Obama was unable to do.

So far, Trump has accomplished zilch. It's down to Moon and Kim.

Trump cheerleaders need to do a bit more research before attributing success to the man who is determined to have his war. Be it in Syria, Iran or (zod forbid) the DPRK.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

bass4funk

why is it with you that everyone, every group and organization that does something you don't agree with must be corrupt, a fraud, Everyone you don't like must a liberal a left winger, even a communist or worse anti America.

Obama was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace prize because they decided he was the most deserving of all the nominations. You attack but don't provide much evidence to support those opinions.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Without Trump we would still be fighting with NK because liberals only believe in appeasement and because of that who wouldn’t want to invade for attack our eyes or even threaten us.

The US has invaded, murdered, threatened, bullied and blown up millions over the years.

You, on the other hand, did not fight against the DPRK. But you still wave your blood stained tawdry flag and bay for blood.

You think peace is a weakness, intelligence and diplomacy is appeasement.

You sometimes come across as a nation of savages who glorify war and endless conflict as some kind of virtue or strength.

Luckily, the far right and the spinners of lies who are so vocal under your current administration are temporary players and not representative of real Americans. Those who believe in peace and are horrified at the direction the US has swung in.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

If the Nobel Peace Award is so unworthy why do the Trumpophiles want it so much for him even before achieving anything concrete?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Well if Mr Moon is going to kiss Moon, he might as well as suggest that BOTH Trump and Kim should get the Nobel Peace Prize for so far having accomplished nothing. How about waiting until the meetings produce some real results before screaming "Nobel Peace Prize"?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

If the denuclearization of Korea and other serious matters are resolved maybe the Nobel committee will award it's peace prize to Trump/Moon/Kim and that probably would be the best outcome.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

bass4funk

Sorry, but you have no idea what I use and what I don’t use and for me cash is always the best way to go, you can bypass a lot of things with that.

I don't need to know the exact services you use to know you are using the socialist programs. Both private school and private hospitals receive government money. Japan is a country which gives the most numbers of subsidies and grants that even if you are paying cash just like the majority of people you still use and benefits from all those socialist services.

That’s what I’ve been saying, now you’re on target.

no you have only stated Trump should get the Nobel and didn't suggest all the three leaders should have it.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I don't need to know

Precisely! You don’t know at all, you surmise, you guess, but you don’t know.

no

Yes, I did.

you have only stated Trump should get the Nobel and didn't suggest all the three leaders should have it.

I did say that all three deserve it and not only on this thread. This is what I’m talking about the left will tune in and listen to what they want. Selective listening.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

* **im neither left or right, Im probably a bit of each conservative & liberal, *

Oh, please!

and Im not even American.

Then you can’t help the US, but you are always welcome to make a comment

What I am is against racist intolerant fools that continue to con people and attack others because they refuse to follow their moronic ideals. As history has taught us these type of people have only caused humanity suffering and spread hate.

Well, we both agree on something, I hate racists as well.

*How would you know this? Oh, that’s right, you don’t. **pretty obvious when China stopped almost all trade with NK they came running to the table, *

We did catch a few Chinese ships being sneaky trying to deliver oil and other things to the North, so not quite.

without Chinas help Trump would have squat and SK for that matter, thank you China!

Not true, China was throwing a monkey wrench into the works this is why Trump excluding them from the last talks infuriating the Chinese and now look what happened, they will meet. Good move on the President, China was a huge eyesore in all of this, with them out, something good has blossomed.

notice how that trade war has been put on the back burner recently.

Yes, because Xi called the President and wants to avoid a trade war. The Chinese need us as much as we need them (who else will buy their stuff at Walmart?) the difference, Trump put them on notice, they blinked and now they can sit down and talk and come to a middle ground instead of China trying to stuff its pockets and benefit form a one-sided trade.

Trump may finally see that negotiating gets things done not threats! LOL

Yup, that’s why he knows the deal.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I think they should give the prize to Putin!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

If Obama can win it for doing absolutely nothing, then why not Trump?

1 ( +18 / -17 )

Is Moon Jae-in on the same planet as the rest of us???

1 ( +10 / -9 )

Trump won't be given the Nobel Peace Award because they gave it to the previous president so unlikely two consecutive presidents would have the reward.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Oh not to mention that Abe has taken the same line as Trump, which has probably also contributed. Its a whole combination of factors.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

How so? What other reason did Obama get the Nobel Peace Prize?

He got it for not being George W Bush.

It was a dig at the absolute chaos left behind by a president your non-partisan historians regard as a successful president.

I don’t think it had anything to do with skin colour. It was just timing.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

President Obama wasn't awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Award for being the first black president, it was awarded by the Nobel Peace committee for "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

The Nobel Peace committee are free to elect those who it decides deserves the outstanding award.

People often disagree who receives the awards.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

There isn't room on Rushmore. We'll have to blast Lincoln's face off.

Trump was asked if he should get the Nobel Peace Prize recently, and he is reported to have said "Peace is the prize".

Pretty Outstanding

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Obama got it BEFORE DOING NOTHING

The Nobel Peace Award committee does not make awards for doing nothing and are required to follow a set of critiques in the decision making.

In 2009 a record 205 nominations were received by the committee, including 33 organizations. The previous record was 199 in 2005.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

Obama does not even make it to the list of the 10 worse presidents, but both Nixon and G W Bush are on it

Only time will tell. Just wait a few more years.

What’s going to happen in the next few years? According to approval ratings on leaving office, Nixon and Bush are at the bottom. Obama is nowhere near their atrocious levels. One poster here claims to know non-partisan historians who re-evaluated the Bush years and saw them as a success, but he never gave us their names.

Even Trump’s awful current approval ratings are higher than the two bottom feeders I mentioned, but as mentioned earlier, Trump is well capable of sinking even deeper into the swamp.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

So why didn't Obama's soft diplomacy and apologetic foreign policy successful in getting Kim to willingly denuclearize or agree to peace talks with S Korea and U.S. while he was President?

Different set of circumstances, different players on all sides.

It's a dangerous precedent to set when one holds up threats of violence as a way of getting things done.

Of course, that beligerent approach is expected of the tyrants of the world but we must be grateful to Moon and his patience. I sincerely hope your thin-skinned, easily triggered, basket case of a leader doesn't mess it up for the rest of us.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Screaming idiocy. We are not at this level here.

I salute your optimism, sir!

1 ( +3 / -2 )

Oh, I must say. I AM enjoying this! which is that, the wall, the peace prize, de-nuking Korea, removing Obamacare, 40% tarriffs on Chinese goods? Not sure what your enjoying, your secret fantasy, or actual reality as Trumps reality is looking rather swampy the last 18 months

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I don't know about how the Nobel Committee chooses people for Nobel Peace Prize.

However, President Trump actions have certainly attributed fatty Kim decided to come to the peace negotiation table. Now N. Korea has shortage of oil which need to fuel Missiles and nuclear weapon test site was partially collapsed. President Trump was also an itchy for preemptive strike against N. Korean Kim Jong-un Government.

I believed the S. Korean President Moon has told Kim Jong-un about the President Trump will attack N. Korea definitely if the IBCM missile has reached mainland United State. The US doesn't need to use nuclear weapons on N. Korea. Now the US military has powerful conventional the 30,000-pound GBU-57 bunker busters. Kim Jong-un is cowardice and smart guy. He knows about the N. Korean weapons cannot compete with the US weapons. He is scared to die.

It will be very interesting the meeting between the President Trump and Kim Jong-un. President Trump said he will leave the table if the meeting doesn't meet expectation.

Kim Jong-un must come with something that proof he will complete denuclearize Korean peninsula and scrap its ICBM program. Most of all, Kim Jong-un must honest and sincere.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Trump excluding them from the last talks infuriating the Chinese and now look what happened, they will meet. any peace deal from the Korean war will have to be signed by NK , SK ,China , USA.

China will do so begrudgingly. Thanks Mr. Bolton.

as they were the main contestants. Leaving China out isnt an option ,

For now it is.

if Trump tries to exclude China Im sure China will be more than happy to open its borders and resume trade with NK. Its China who has NK by the nads , not Trump and they know it.

That’s ok, Sen. Graham, McConnell, Mattis and Trump promised to hit China hard with sanctions something that China doesn’t want at all.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Trump put them on notice, they blinked and now they can sit down and talk and come to a middle ground instead of China trying to stuff its pockets and benefit form a one-sided trade. they didnt blink they will retaliate to any trade war Trump throws at them,

And vice versa, this is why the Chinese President Xi wants to negotiate a better deal. Everyone was wrong about the tariffs, we don’t want to do this, probably Chinese either, but NO President ever stood up to China and threatened them and that worked, now we don’t seem to be a paper dragon in the eyes of thr Chinese.

tariffs on red states, restrictions on American importers and factories in China, crashing their currency to counter any American tariffs.

Many farmers, know this, but don’t want China to manipulate the system and adjust their currency to get the advantage, good on the President for looking out for the people. Protectionism.

People just cant accept the fact that China isnt a pushover anymore, its can also be the 800lb Gorilla in the room, Trumps just needs to keep poking it with a stick and see what happens.

No, it’s China that has been thinking the US is a pushover and it was, especially the last 8 years. Finally a President with a pair of shiny brass that says, enough! China go thr message with the NK talks by getting rid of them, willing to get into a tariff war and we just recently sailed one of our carriers to the China sea where they have those man made Islands which they protested, but can’t do squat. Way to go Mr. President.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

South Korea's president: Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

South Korea's national-security advisor: Trump's pressure policy has been instrumental in bringing about positive changes vis-a-vis North Korea.

Most of the U.S. media: Russia, Russia, Russia, blah blah blah ... oh, and Stormy Daniels.

Trump on getting the Nobel Peace Prize: I don't care about that. I just want to get the job done.

All of the above says it all.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Trump and only Trump is responsible for Kims move towards peace.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

If there is peace, give him the prize, I don't even care if he had anything to do with it.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Do these prizes have a criteria? If I open my cereal box this morning there is a very good chance I could find a Nobel medal in my bow. That what it seem like. I wonder if the person how brought us cage fighting got given Nobel medal ?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Trump's threats of fire and fury and saber rattling should never earn him the Nobel Peace prize. Never.

The Norwegians aren't that stupid...

0 ( +15 / -15 )

Don't think Trump will get it solo tbh. The KJU, Moon and DT triumvirate on the other hand looks good on paper should NK denuclearisation materialise.

Let's say Trump is closer to the Nobel peace prize than he was to the Nobel prize in literature with 'the art of the deal' (or economics his other 'area of expertise').

0 ( +1 / -1 )

if your going to award the peace prize then it should be given to all Kim, Moon Trump, but only if it leads to denuclearize Korean, if the prize also takes into account a persons persona/morals then none of them should get it. As it stands now its just all crocodile smiles, next is getting NK to agree to all Trumps demands, with China pulling the strings of Kim theyll never agree to a peace treaty or any democratic influence of the west into NK. getting Kim to the table was the easy part lets see if Trump has the so called negotiating skills to get a deal done.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

giving the prize to a litigious socialist golfer who was trying to instigate WWIII is a joke. If you're going to award a Trump, try Melania

0 ( +5 / -5 )

The other big, big reason of course is that Kim Jong-un has stated in his 6 year plan that along with perfecting his nuclear arsenal, the next major task was to rebuild the economy. He can't do that under these sanctions and so perhaps with everything that has happened over the last 12 months he has come to the realization, the smart realization, that the economy is infinitely more important than developing nuclear weapons that if fired results in the death of millions of North Koreans in response. Having announced the perfection of his arsenal, the media will now say that he is using that as a bargaining chip to seek economic relief to make North Korea stronger which again makes him look like a strong and smart leader. Then he can see with the U.S threat removed and a new peace treaty its time to unify the Korea's under some sort of power sharing arrangement.

Just a few thoughts...

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Then why did he accept it if he felt he hadn’t earned it? Could have simply politely declined it, unless he was forced to accept it, right? The guy’s whole life was getting things handed to him he hadn’t earned so he felt nothing unusual about it.

I can’t believe liberals will even try to delegitimize the Nobel Peace Prize at the mere thought of Trump getting one.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

The guy’s whole life was getting things handed to him he hadn’t earned so he felt nothing unusual about it.

He earned the presidency and was re-elected by thrashing Republican candidates. That wasn’t handed to him. He thrashed them in the electoral college and...the popular vote.

I agree the Peace Prize shouldn’t have been given to him. I liked the dig at Bush, but there were more worthy candidates.

The legitimacy of the Peace Prize has been trashed for a long time.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Giving it to Obama in his first year at office was a joke, so why not Trump.

He also hasnt achieved anything.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Moon Jae-in is STONED!

0 ( +4 / -4 )

but both Nixon and G W Bush are on it

Wait and watch, Trump will beat them all.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

I enjoy Trump making the left mad as much as the left love making Trump mad. im neither left or right, Im probably a bit of each conservative & liberal, and Im not even American. 0 ( +2 / -2 )

Even though Trump deserves the peace prize or to share it with the Chinese leader, he is not politically correct enough and will not get it.

*I hate racists as well. **but your leader doesnt seem to mind them!?*

*Or maybe he really sincerely and deeply means it. **from a politician! LMFAO dude you nearly made me choke on my coffee!*

I choke on my Cheerios in amazement that you don’t think so.

*We did catch a few Chinese ships being sneaky trying to deliver oil and other things to the North, so not quite. **but nearly all of the cross border trade has stopped, when NK gets 90% of its imports from China its not difficult too see who really has NK by the nads and its isnt Trump. *

It was Trump, that’s why we made sure to block the Chinese and caught them red-handed. If we didn’t China would be calling the shots and that’s why they’re teed off.

Its in Chinas interest to get a peace deal done,

Not this time, they were cut out deliberately out of the negotiations and thank God for the President for that, otherwise we would still be in the argument stage.

NK will still be ruled by a dictator and western democratic influence in NK will be minimal, China will still have its NK buffer zone from SK democratic influence. when / if a peace deal is signed and NK opens its borders to foreign investment itll be China that gets the majority of that trade as NK become wealthier.

That’s all ok, they can do all of that, minus the nukes.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

*That’s all ok, they can do all of that, minus the nukes. **im sure China is fine with NK getting their nukes dismantled, theyve still got plenty of their own.*

Who cares? No one is talking about China.

No, it’s China that has been thinking the US is a pushover and it was,

why would China think that, theyve been playing catchup for the last 30yrs, theyre now in a position of financial power where they can call the shots now.

And yet they were barred from the talks between the US and NK. that’s why they’re so ticked off.

*That’s ok, Sen. Graham, McConnell, Mattis and Trump promised to hit China hard with sanctions something that China doesn’t want at all. **and America doesnt want China to hit back with their own, they clearly said they would if provoked, trade wars arent easy to win as nobody is a winner , but President Xi will still be around when Trump is gone & probably Kim also. LOL*

So it goes both ways, China needs people in the US o buy their cheap stuff and the US needs China to buy their agriculture livestock and produce. They both need each, so based on that, China doesn’t have anymore leverage than we do. That’s why in this possible tariff debacle, they blinked, now the US can meet with them in the middle on trade, great gamble on the President.

*For now it is.** and why is it that Trump isnt pushing for regime change!? I can almost guarantee that was a Chinese requirement before they helped with the trade sanctions. China will stay the main influence in NK and reap most of the economic gains that will happen when NK is finally allowed to grow its economy.*

They can, but they will never determine or dictate the outcome of this, again, the US as we speak are making sure of this. China butts in, they’ll get slapped with heavy sanctions, something they really don’t want.

*I choke on my Cheerios in amazement that you don’t think so. i dont see how ,** havent come accross a politician who hasnt played an angle to get their way, if sucking up to Trump will get SK better trade deals then hell do it. afterall a win for Trump will be win for Moon also , NK and China. I think China will be the biggest winner both economically and politically.*

No, North and South Korea will be if this does happen. It will solidify their future as a nation that finally after 70 years can put a lot of pain, anger and hatred aside to unify.

*Not this time, they were cut out deliberately out of the negotiations** but thats just it there not negotiating anything yet until a peace deal can be signed the rules of war states all parties must be a signatory for it to be finalized. Japan USA SK will all be happy that NK doesnt have any nukes. Kim will retain power in NK and all the substantial financial aid theyll swindle in exchange for their nukes and China will make a boat load of money suppling them. China will continue to grow it economy and its military unabated. Id say China takes the win over the long term.*

If that were to happen, Kim can always think about what happened to Saddam and Gaddafi, he knows that’s the real scenario, he knows now he only has two choices, denuclearize or pay a very heavy price. If the the two Koreas unify and become one nation and the North gets absorbed by the South, China loses big time and there is No way being the economic gorilla SK is they would go the other way.

I'd say give it to Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg for their fight against gun reform. They're my heroes.

I could have sworn those two were “for” gun reform and not “against” it. Or is this irony?

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said U.S. President Donald Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the standoff with North Korea over its nuclear weapons program, a South Korean official said on Monday.

"President Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize. What we need is only peace," Moon told a meeting of senior secretaries, according to a presidential Blue House official who briefed media.

Moon and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Friday pledged to end hostilities between the two countries and work towards the "complete denuclearisation" of the Korean peninsula in the first inter-Korean summit in more than a decade.

The Korea's have been at war since 1950. It's about time they made a serious effort to actually end the conflict.

If Moon Jae-in thinks Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for restarting serious talk, that's fine with me. All Moon has to do is 1st) nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, and 2nd) convince at least 3 of 5 Norwegians on the committee to award the prize to Trump.

However, the committee's judgment has been suspect ever since they awarded a prize to Obama for being the first black President of the U.S.. Obama certainly had not done anything to justify his winning a peace prize. Maybe the Norwegians on the committee really liked the way Obama played golf, or rode a bicycle, or beat Hillary in the Democrat primary?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

trump should be impeached. Even that is to good for this felon.

-1 ( +18 / -19 )

Obama got it before his administration had kicked in, belittling the prize. Trump with his Tweets, has caused a rethink by North Korea. The world we now live in is one where Twitter "Trumps" Diplomacy. School yard taunts "my red button is bigger than yours and it works" cuts to the chase I guess. Give it to him, accidentally he started a dialogue..

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Obama won it for doing nothing special, so why not Trump?

Which undermined the credibility of the organization. A complete joke. If they start to hand out these awards based on ridiculous political criteria, then having it awarded means nothing essentially. If anyone should get it for being a driving force in getting the two Koreas to talk and to have the North back down and possibly disarm is a monumental achievement. If anyone deserves it, if this does come to fruition it should be awarded to Trump, Kim and Moon to the men that did their perspective parts to come to this point.

-1 ( +11 / -12 )

Trump's threats of fire and fury and saber rattling should never earn him the Nobel Peace prize. Never.

If he didn’t then we wouldn’t be where we are today. The last 3 Presidents tried the soft shoe approach and nothing happened, so the bread is in the pudding. The Norwegians need to get those papers slowly ready.

The Norwegians aren't that stupid...

They gave Obama an Award for what? Being Obama? Smart these are definitely not. Political, starts to look that way.

-1 ( +11 / -12 )

You know how to beat a bully? You bully him back.

That's what Trump did to Kim. He gave Kim a taste of his own medicine that no one had done before. Nobody had ever answered Kim's call to 'meet him on the basketball court after school' with a 'sure thing, see you at 3' until Trump.

Seems like Kim decided that the idea of potentially becoming another Saddam Hussein hiding in a hole from the Allied invaders wouldn't look good for his legacy and suddenly decided to come to the peace table.

The amount of people who just can't admit that Trump might have done something right for a change is ridiculous.

-1 ( +11 / -12 )

Watching the Sunday morn political programs yesterday,it came out in one of them that trump, in a private phone call with Moon in January, lobbied for the Peace Prize and asked Moon to credit him with any success that might occur with the two Koreas. Clearly because Obama got one, the petty president wants one too.How deep is his insecurity?

-1 ( +9 / -10 )

Different set of circumstances, different players on all sides.

Kim was in power while Obama was president and you know it. You just don't want to admit that Trump was able to accomplish something Obama was unable to do.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Moon even thinks so, so he should know, that’s a Lear endorsement from the SK President. Great acknowledgement.

No, it's canny politics. The ROK will be distancing themselves from US interference and military presence over the next decade so it's clever of him not to burn any bridges just yet.

Of course he deserves everything the Norwegians have, including that delicious deer.

I presume you mean reindeer? Or, by "everything", do you mean he deserves the existential angst of Munch, the humanitarian, anti-racist ethos of Grieg or the world's best example of democracy?

Now it is and then it’s Trump and Kim and hopefully the North will start to dismantle everything have our ships come and pick up everything and we can go the next step.

It would be most agreeable and a huge step to peace if you brought home your detritus, yes.

We did, Kim threatened the US, Trump is in the WH...oh, what the heck was Kim thinking? Syria and Iran should watch carefully, this includes them as well.

Millions lost their lives in the Korean war. Hardly surprising the man is edgy and paranoid.

Threatening Syria and Iran is all well and good from the comfort of your armchair thousands of miles away. But it's not a game and it has consequences. For all of us. Maybe you should contemplate that before your rather silly sabre-rattling.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

It's been really enjoyable watching all the Trump haters going beserk at the South Korean president's remarks. :)

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

“t's been really enjoyable watching all the Trump haters going beserk at the South Korean president's remarks”

Right onn! Heck, they’ve been kicking & screaming ever since he won the election. If anything, they’ve got to give him some credit. Obviously, the prior administration’s “strategic patience” got us absolutely nowhere with NK.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

First, Obama won the Nobel because he was not Bush. The Committee awarded the prize in advance for Obama not starting anymore stupid wars in the Middle East. Which the US is still fighting today and losing.

Second, when Moon started to reach out to NK Trump tried to kill it saying it was doomed to fail. Later that was retracted but it obvious that the credit for this change between the Koreas belongs to Moon. A liberal of course. Liberals create peace, conservatives start wars. The previous administration in Korea was super conservative (plus totally corrupt, sound familiar) and made the NK situation worse, as did Bush when he was President. Clinton got them to stop making bombs and Bush of course reversed the Clinton policy ending up with a nuclear NK.

Moon is simply flattering Trump because of course Trump believes he deserves the prize

for doing nothing. Moon and Macron has figured out Trump, it is easy, treat him like a six year old.

Good Trump, you make a peace deal on your own. You are a big boy.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

First, Obama won the Nobel because he was not Bush.

I agree.

The Committee awarded the prize in advance for Obama not starting anymore stupid wars in the Middle East. Which the US is still fighting today and losing.

Ok, so then you agree with me that fraudulent committee is run by nothing but politically driven liberal partisans.

Second, when Moon started to reach out to NK Trump tried to kill it saying it was doomed to fail.

Which has been the history for over the last 28 years, so naturally Trump was going to be overly pessimistic, who could blame him?

Later that was retracted but it obvious that the credit for this change between the Koreas belongs to Moon.

In the second phase of it yes, but not in the first phase, that was all on the president and him being unrelenting, forceful, taking a hostile more in your face approach, draining all of his personal finances. Those are the main catalyst factors which brought North Korea to its knees.

A liberal of course. Liberals create peace,

Yes, Compton, South Chicago, Baltimore, Oakland, Detroit, LA all of the cities are peaceful and all of the people are extremely happy, satisfied with their lives, living in peace, harmony and tranquility. Black and Latino getting extremely well financially and socially under Democrat leadership, their policies are what makes the cities the beacon of success.

conservatives start wars.

Because liberals are totally weak andcincompetent when it comes to National Security. If Democrats only rule the country as a one party system, we would have been invaded by foreign powers along time ago.

The previous administration in Korea was super conservative (plus totally corrupt, sound familiar) and made the NK situation worse, as did Bush when he was President. Clinton got them to stop making bombs

And then what happened? They fired up the nuclear reactors again, oooops!

and Bush of course reversed the Clinton policy ending up with a nuclear NK.

NK has been trying to get a bomb way, way before that. Bush doesn’t get a pass on this either all three of them don’t. Bush Clinton and Obama didn’t do enough,That’s why were in this mess right now!

Moon is simply flattering Trump because of course Trump believes he deserves the prize

for doing nothing. Moon and Macron has figured out Trump, it is easy, treat him like a six year old.

Oh, you don’t know that, but if you can verify what the man thinks as something factual, I’ll listen. Take your time.

Without Trump we would still be fighting with NK because liberals only believe in appeasement and because of that who wouldn’t want to invade for attack our eyes or even threaten us.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Or maybe he really sincerely and deeply means it. from a politician! LMFAO dude you nearly made me choke on my coffee!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

The Nobel peace prize was very cheap, it worth two dollars, as if!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Obama’s was NOT Only given the prize because he was able to rise above centuries of oppression to impossibly become America’s first black president and a historic symbol/milestone of a post Jim Crowe America, which IS a tremendous accomplishment. He was also given the prize as a way of pressuring him to end America’s blood lust. It was clear to everyone that Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria would be followed by Iran and North Korea. They gambled that he was a sensible man and that he would try to do something to steer the country in a more peaceful direction. The prize was a bid to tip the scales in favor of peace. Officially he was given the prize for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”, which he did with relentlessly.

Despite the drone program in Syria he WAS able to peacefully negotiate the denuclearization of Iran. That is huge. No one before him has been able to accomplish this. He didn’t do it by threatening war or through crippling sanctions. He did it through diplomacy.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Saddam and Ghadafi also did not have the Chinese and Russian Military. Unless those two would have abandoned NK, war by America would have sparked WWIII.

It is more likely Asia is strengthening itself against American influence. The US has lost much trust in the international community. Now, NK and SK are working with Russia and China to bring peace. Europe is working without America to preserve Iran deal and Paris accords, Asia is working without America to establish TPP. One by one they are doing it on their own till the US is left alone on the playground with no one to play with.

If I were a policy maker that’s exactly what I would do. I would also use Trump’s ridiculous ego against. Stroking his hair so he doesn’t turn his head to see everyone scrambling behind him.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Yes give that orange ignoramus mentally challenged bumbling idiot a Nobel Peace Prize so he can talk about how he single handledly saved the world.

-2 ( +9 / -11 )

"Obama won it for doing nothing special, so why not Trump?"

Obama indeed did nothing to deserve it, whereas Trump has been instrumental in getting Little Rocket Man to do a 180 and get with the program.

Oh my...

Kim Jong Un gets my vote and also for Time Cover of the Year

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Yeah I saw liberals started a while back with the Nobel Prize is worthless and the committee forced obama to take it narrative.

The committee never forced "Obama" to take it, and he very well could have refused to accept it as well, but he didn't do that either.

Do you think he feels he deserved it? He was in office for less than two weeks before being nominated. Trump's been there over a year, guess he "wins" on that account alone!

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

President Obama wasn't awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Award for being the first black president,

Yes, he was and as Jim said, for not being Bush.

it was awarded by the Nobel Peace committee for "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

Well, we all got robbed, because that didn’t happen.

The Nobel Peace committee are free to elect those who it decides deserves the outstanding award.

Liberals ok, but not conservatives or not as many. That committee as become a total joke as well as politically bias.

People often disagree who receives the awards.

Especially when it becomes a political statement.

Obama does not even make it to the list of the 10 worse presidents, but both Nixon and G W Bush are on it

Well, since the majority of the media are liberals, it’s understandable, but when you ask the people on the economy, Obama becomes a joke, but the Norwegians don’t care about that and what do you expect from a body that relishes socialism?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

The thought of Trump being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize or getting any credit for forcing N Korea to denuclearize and being the driving force toward peace between the two Koreas is a bitter pill for the leftist/liberals to swallow.

That committee has become a total joke as well as politically bias.

Very true. They cheated Reagan out of the Award in 1990. They didn't want to acknowledge that it was Regan's hardline foreign policy and commitment to a strong U.S. military power that forced the capitulation of the Soviet Union, fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. Instead they awarded the Peace Prize to Gorbachev.

No, Trump won't get the Peace Award. Being good socialists and communists sympathizers, the committee will award the Nobel Peace Prize to Kim Jong-Un and Xi Jinping.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

I hate racists as well. but your leader doesnt seem to mind them!?

We did catch a few Chinese ships being sneaky trying to deliver oil and other things to the North, so not quite. but nearly all of the cross border trade has stopped, when NK gets 90% of its imports from China its not difficult too see who really has NK by the nads and its isnt Trump. NK will just be a dictatorship controlled by China with them being the biggest beneficiary, well played China!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Trump put them on notice, they blinked and now they can sit down and talk and come to a middle ground instead of China trying to stuff its pockets and benefit form a one-sided trade. they didnt blink they will retaliate to any trade war Trump throws at them, tariffs on red states, restrictions on American importers and factories in China, crashing their currency to counter any American tariffs. People just cant accept the fact that China isnt a pushover anymore, its can also be the 800lb Gorilla in the room, Trumps just needs to keep poking it with a stick and see what happens

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

That’s all ok, they can do all of that, minus the nukes. im sure China is fine with NK getting their nukes dismantled, theyve still got plenty of their own.

No, it’s China that has been thinking the US is a pushover and it was,

I think China will be the biggest winner both economically and politically.

Not this time, they were cut out deliberately out of the negotiations but thats just it there not negotiating anything yet until a peace deal can be signed the rules of war states all parties must be a signatory for it to be finalized. Kim will retain power in NK and all the substantial financial aid theyll swindle in exchange for their nukes and China will make a boat load of money suppling them. China will continue to grow it economy and its military unabated. Id say China takes the win over the long term.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

That’s why in this possible tariff debacle, they blinked, now the US can meet with them in the middle on trade, great gamble on the President. they didnt blink at anything, there will be no middle ground as the trade deficit will continue to be massive, Trump will never have balanced trade with China, hed be lucky if he could even reduce it to half of the 350billion deficit. Americans and American companies are addicted to cheap Chinese made imports

If that were to happen, Kim can always think about what happened to Saddam and Gaddafi, he knows that’s the real scenario, he knows now he only has two choices, denuclearize or pay a very heavy price. lol Saddam/Gaddafi didnt have nukes, if you assassinate Kim one of his trigger happy generals will just step in and take his place, China would never accept a US annexing of NK , US tried that before during the Korean war and they were pushed back by when China stepped in and helped NK. Any political destabilization of NK will have disastrous sequences, starting with SK being attacked.

North gets absorbed by the South, China loses big time and there is No way being the economic gorilla SK is they would go the other way.

SK is hardly an economic Gorilla its economy is about 1/10 of Chinas,

regime change isnt an option if the US or SK force the issue itll just turn into another Syria with neighboring countries warring over control of NK or another German with the country split into two

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I'd say give it to Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg for their fight against gun reform. They're my heroes.

They're my heroes too. Since those two blowhards were pushed on the national scene as Democratic tools, new NRA memberships have exploded across the United States!

Can't wait for the Nobel Peace Prize to go to the best President since Eisenhower, President Trump!

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

I'm a fan of Obama, but under his administration, they continued American military actions in multiple countries, often killing innocents with drones. His administration was miles better than the one previous, but still not up to par by any means. I don't think he should have received the peace prize.

I also see no reason to give it to Trump. He has only threatened hellfire. Nothing peaceful whatsoever. He's just lucky that NKs weapons factory collapsed, or he'd still be ramping up to war. NK peace, if it happens (and I'm still very skeptical), will be in spite of Trump, not because him.

As far as I'm concerned, the USA is years and years away from being able to get the peace prize for anything, and that would be if they were moving in the direction of no war, which they are not.

Giving the peace prize to American leaders removes any meaning from the prize whatsoever.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Even the suggestion that Trump might get a peace prize is an insult.

He's already had several "piece" prizes. Stormy, Karen, Melania...

-3 ( +9 / -12 )

It should be the No Bell Prize!

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Oh, I must say. I AM enjoying this!

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate President Donald J Trump.

Has a nice ring to it!

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

So far, Trump has accomplished zilch.

No, he got Kim to back off and drained them financially, Moon even thinks so, so he should know, that’s a Lear endorsement from the SK President. Great acknowledgement.

Of course he deserves everything the Norwegians have, including that delicious deer.

It's down to Moon and Kim.

Now it is and then it’s Trump and Kim and hopefully the North will start to dismantle everything have our ships come and pick up everything and we can go the next step.

Trump cheerleaders need to do a bit more research before attributing success to the man who is determined to have his war. Be it in Syria, Iran or (zod forbid) the DPRK.

We did, Kim threatened the US, Trump is in the WH...oh, what the heck was Kim thinking? Syria and Iran should watch carefully, this includes them as well.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Oh, I must say. I AM enjoying this!  which is that, the wall, the peace prize, de-nuking Korea, removing Obamacare, 40% tarriffs on Chinese goods? Not sure what your enjoying, your secret fantasy, or actual reality as Trumps reality is looking rather swampy the last 18 months

I enjoy Trump making the left mad as much as the left love making Trump mad.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

It's been really enjoyable watching all the Trump haters going beserk at the South Korean president's remarks  whys that, Moon is either stating something that isnt entirely of Trumps making or even mostly for that matter,

How would you know this? Oh, that’s right, you don’t.

or hes just brown nosing Trump to get more favorable trade conditions

Or maybe he really sincerely and deeply means it.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Trump excluding them from the last talks infuriating the Chinese and now look what happened, they will meet. any peace deal from the Korean war will have to be signed by NK , SK ,China , USA. as they were the main contestants. Leaving China out isnt an option , if Trump tries to exclude China Im sure China will be more than happy to open its borders and resume trade with NK. Its China who has NK by the nads , not Trump and they know it.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Great idea Moon, hey we might as well give serial pedophiles their own daycare centers while we’re at it. :-/

-4 ( +8 / -12 )

Spanky.

And once again fake news my friends.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Obama does not even make it to the list of the 10 worse presidents, but both Nixon and G W Bush are on it

Only time will tell. Just wait a few more years.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Trump has promised only threats and violence

So why didn't Obama's soft diplomacy and apologetic foreign policy successful in getting Kim to willingly denuclearize or agree to peace talks with S Korea and U.S. while he was President?

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

It's very dangerous for our country when every other leader around the world knows that all you need to do is blow smoke at Trump and you'll get anything you want from him.

Yup, that’s exactly why I voted for him! Someone with a brass pair and not a spineless weak and scared wimp that only believes in appeasement.

If anything, he should get the Nobel prize for physics for the way his hair defies gravity

What?

Of course, that beligerent approach is expected of the tyrants of the world but we must be grateful to Moon and his patience.

Moon is a NK sympathizer centrist not exactly a strong man, but this would have never happened on his own, no way. So I agree with Moon, Trump deserves the Noble Peace Prize.

I sincerely hope your thin-skinned, easily triggered, basket case of a leader doesn't mess it up for the rest of us.

Im worried more about the little guy in NK, he’s so volatile and unstable.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

why is it with you that everyone, every group and organization that does something you don't agree with must be corrupt, a fraud,

I want to ask you the same thing in flip mode about the Trump administration.

Everyone you don't like must a liberal a left winger, even a communist or worse anti America.

No and I’ve always been specific. Being from California I know exactly how liberals operate and I’ve seen how they destroyed a very beautiful state, so no I don’t like the policies and I don’t like how they have ruined my state and now I’m trying to expand that to the rest of the country. So anything that has entitlement attached to it or socialism is a form of cancer for me.

Obama was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace prize because they decided he was the most deserving of all the nominations.

I laughed my butt off then and I’m laughing now, that was a joke and complete farce. Had Trump won it for not being Obama, the left would have excoriated the Norwegians, you know it and I know it.

You attack but don't provide much evidence to support those opinions.

I do, but you guys gloss over them, so at this point, no need to. Like my father always told me, you can’t whip a dead horse.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

This will go down as the joke of the century.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Yeah I saw liberals started a while back with the Nobel Prize is worthless and the committee forced obama to take it narrative.

I expect that to restart now. It’s amazing what Trump has done with this. It was only supposedly started at all to “distract from the Russia” investigations my liberal friends said. Oops wrong again.

-5 ( +9 / -14 )

He got it for not being George W Bush.

Then on that alone, Trump should get it for not being Obama.

Or for being the first President to forcefully go toe to toe with the NK dictator and to give him an ultimatum.

I don’t think it had anything to do with skin colour. It was just timing.

I think it had a lot to do with skin color.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

The US has invaded, murdered, threatened, bullied and blown up millions over the years.

And the US gave millions of lives for others as well as our nation over the years.

You, on the other hand, did not fight against the DPRK. But you still wave your blood stained tawdry flag and bay for blood.

So what, I can express my opinion and I did my time in the early 90’s

You think peace is a weakness, intelligence and diplomacy is appeasement.

if it’s not backed up by military force, particularly dealing with countries like Iran, China and North Korea, then it means nothing.

You sometimes come across as a nation of savages who glorify war and endless conflict as some kind of virtue or strength.

Some say that. There are getting America has gone too soft, two weak, being a country that apologizes and showing appeasment and having a President going on an apology tour which did nothing but a good photo op.

Luckily, the far right and the spinners of lies who are so vocal under your current administration are temporary players and not representative of real Americans.
