Blacks and Hispanics have been particularly hard hit by COVID-19 with a disproportionate number of deaths

The above is one of many reasons Trump and his Republicans didn't put much effort into dealing with the pandemic. The mostly white Republican banker/country club caste was least affected by the virus plus had the money to afford superior healthcare.

in part because of the nation’s history of unethical practices in medical research on African Americans.

The legacy of racism. America's racist past continues to haunt the country, and white nationalists make problems even worse.

American exceptional racist past. I can't imagine a POC ever getting to a high office, say like President or VP, right P Townsend? So very unlike those progressive countries like the UK or EU countries, amiright? Love how we get these comments like 50% of America is racist, keep falling for the BS on your "news" programs boys.

donald showed utter disregard for the lives of the colored. They were not his vote base and he probably wishes there were less of them!!!!

"Let's not let COVID get us. Let's get the vaccine instead, right?" Harris said in excerpts from an MSNBC interview.

America’s past with how it’s treated minorities gives reason for doubt, but there are sensible people in power now and the mentally challenged bunch of bigots from the earlier administration are gone!!!

From a numbers standpoint, black people have much more to worry from covid than from the police.

If you’re not black, then you don’t know what they have to worry about. And even then, you can’t paint entire race with a broad brush.

You can't paint an entire race with a broad brush? What are you talking about? Statistically speaking more blacks were killed by Covid-19 than by the police.

Indeed. And yet certain sections of the media positively encourage it. Giving airtime and platforms to these scumbags.

Good for her. If even one extra soul can break from the suspicious negative mind-set, her work will have been worth it.

Donald Trump's legacy WRT Black Americans can be summed up in three examples;

His admission in the 70's when sued that he did in fact discriminate against Blacks in his properties...

His statement that "there are very fine people, on both sides"....when talking about white supremacists and Nazis...

His giving the Medal of Freedom to an individual who told a Black caller; "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back"...

Strangerland: From a numbers standpoint, black people have much more to worry from covid than from the police.

You do realize it’s dangerous for facts like this to get out. Statements such as statistically speaking blacks have much more to worry about from other blacks than from the police can lead to accusations of bigotry and support for systemic racism. Careful - your use of facts and logic can get you cancelled.

It is gaining the trust and confidence from communities, up and down the country.

COVID-19 does not discriminate, all front line workers and venerable people should be at the front of the line to be offered the vaccine.

What is a tad concerning is the prospect/proposal of vaccine freedom passporting. That could be a recipe for discrimination.

I agree with all of this. But what would you say about Biden working with segregationist?

I'd say it's a typical Trump-world "But What About" dodge...and thanks for agreeing with me...

Early data on U.S. coronavirus vaccinations suggested that Blacks and Hispanics received a smaller proportion of shots than their representation among healthcare workers and nursing home residents, two priority groups for COVID-19 inoculations.

Why is this?

Priority groups need the vaccines available. If too many of people in a group, whatever group that might be, refuse to be vaccinated, we need to understand why and fix it.

There are reasons why we have priority groups. Those people are at risk more than others. They can be spreaders. They need to be vaccinated, if possible.

Oh, I get hate from both sides of extremists. That's the curse of being a balanced individuals. The moronic extremists all hate you. In an increasingly polarized world, rational people like me are the most hated.

The irony is that the extremists praise when I criticize the other side, then criticize when I criticize their side, not realizing that makes them exactly the same as the other extreme they claim to hate.

Or is Biden’s racism somehow forgivable, or understandable? Will you equally denounce racism no matter what side?

Racism is abhorrent, no matter who it comes from.

This is why I've repeatedly described Biden as center right.

Biden has said and done a lot of stupid, ill-informed things.

It's why I have no real love for the Democrats upper echelons.

Until actual progressives and socialism comes to the fore of the party, they will still be the just about tolerable alternative to the rabid GOP.

Why do you assume there is something wrong with refusing to vaccinate. Why do we need to "fix it"?

Anyway, if they really cared about the black community, they would tell them to supplement with vitamin D. People with dark skin make less vitamin D with sun exposure. The black community has a very high rate of vitD insufficiency and I believe this is a major factor in their high rate of covid deaths. But instead they just want to continue pushing these vaccines...

More Big Vitamin Pill propaganda from Raw Beer.

White majority ruling countries have a history of experiment on POC without their consent! Those countries have done very little to gain POC 's trust!

This is the second time that I have had to say this, and after the last presidency, POC do not feel any safer or more trusting!

Democrats for years and years have done nothing to improve the lives of their biggest constituents. Particularly in every major black community city, this is a very serious topic liberals never want to talk about, their largest base supporters are predominantly black and for years when it comes to public education or when it comes to public housing in all the districts where blacks live, none of their lives have dramatically improved, in fact it seems like the lives have worsened, it’s really heartbreaking and sad to see this going on and now the liberals have got what they want, all 3 branches of government and they have their progressive left president and then this news comes out....
