Is it just me? Every time I hear words come from Trump's mouth I get the impression that I am listening to an elementary school child give a speech that they worked on 10 minutes before presenting it.

"Covering up a savage murder like this will only hurt the human conscience." -Erdogan

When Erdogan is the voice speaking on behalf of "the conscience of all humanity" you know how deep down the rabbit hole we are where down is up, and in is out, and off is on.

Remember a time not so long ago, before Trump screwed our allies, when we would have joined them in issuing sanctions in a united coalition of condemnation against the Saudis?

Ahh, those were the days of decency.

I find it funny that everyone is so outraged and the left want answers, but at the same time they hate the Saudis for 911, which one is it?

I don't understand the question. Which one what ? What the Saudis did to Khashoggi was bad, and what the Saudis did on 9/11 was bad.

Bad+Bad= Bad.

Add in human rights (lack of), executions (summary), misogyny (hard-baked), air strikes on busloads of children (using weapons bought with proceeds from all that strategically-important trade with the US and pals) and there's not much to love about Saudi Arabia.

You're probably right that Trump is probably not going to cut his strategically important relationship worth $110 billion (according to Trump) and on which depend one million US jobs (according to Trump). Even allowing for the typical Trump bigger-better-greater obsessive-compulsive exaggeration, the clear fact remains that Trump and his followers value lucre over morality or justice.

Reminds me of a story about George Bernard Shaw:

Shaw: Everyone has a price.

Woman: Surely not, there's such a thing as morals.

Shaw; Well, would you sleep with me for a million pounds?

Woman: A million pounds? Yeah!

Shaw: Would you sleep with me for ten shillings?

Woman: What do you take me for, a prostitute?

Shaw, Madam, we have already established that. Now I am just trying to determine your price.

I wonder what Trump's ultimate price is, and what he thinks the US is worth.

Didn't he just the other day say their explanation was 'credible'? And now it's a bad cover-up? You never know with this man.

"Bad deal, should have never been thought of. Somebody really messed up. And they had the worst cover-up ever,"

Trump's showing his absolute lack of morality. Instead of condemning whoever it was in the Saudi royal family who ordered the brutal murder of a US resident and journalist (working for a newspaper Trump calls fake news), Trump criticizes the Saudi hitmen for botching the way the murder was conducted and covered up.

Given Trump's reported lifelong dealings with mobsters in the US and around the globe, he probably knows much better ways to have an opponent eliminated. Maybe when he meets with Putin he'll get advice on the best ways to off an opponent, and after doing so he can use the Putin tactic, defend himself claiming 'Can't prove it' and 'Someone else is worse'.

Right on Trump.

Yes, great about-face

Severe ties, blast them with sanctions and cancel all weapons deals.

Or continue to flip-flop.

It's funny how rightists are in lockstep with Trump every time he does an about-face. We had been hearing that Trump was "walking a fine line" until Trump did a 180. Now we are seeing rightists supporting the actions the left have been calling for and have been derided by the right for calling for.

Bad deal, should have never been thought of. Somebody really messed up. And they had the worst cover-up ever.

For once, Trump is discussing something within his purview.

@Yubaru

its definitely not just you, I feel my brain shrinking everytime he speaks.

Narcissus J. Trumpnocchio knows all about coverups, more than any human being on earth.

bass4funk: "Although the relationship with the Saudis is extremely important they need to feel some sort of pain."

Won't happen with Trump in office. Revoking a few visas? peshaw! Why is it you guys bandy about Muslim terrorists so much (Trump now saying they are buried in with the Caravans from South America!) but you sure to love them if they're from Saudi Arabia.

Yemen is an even bigger cover-up.

Proper boycott of trade now. Trump has no problem welching on deals without any provocation, so he can easily halt this travesty of dealing with bona fide terrorists and human rights violaters.

Considering how much experience Trump has of telling lies, he is not very good at recognizing them. He finally got this one so long after everybody else it's just funny.

Right on Trump.

Severe ties, blast them with sanctions and cancel all weapons deals.

How can it be Right on Trump when he repeatedly says he doesn't want to cancel the Saudi arms deals

If ya want Right on Trump, then the Saudi arms deals won't be cancelled

So which is it? Do ya want Trump or do ya want the Saudi arms deal cancelled?

"Ever." Trump talks like a teenager. 'Cause that what his fanboys can understand.

Deplorable.

Trump, as always, unable to handle anything to do with foreign affairs.

Perhaps a good opportunity for someone to raise the spectre of 9/11 again, and it's ties to Saudi Arabia ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alleged_Saudi_role_in_September_11_attacks

Especially, since now we all know that the Saudi Government denials are somewhat less than trustworthy.

Maybe the worst cover-up ever is credible to him

Let's not isolate just the US neither

Other countries like Russia and China companies attended the Saudi Vision expo

Chinese business leaders: Not exactly a paragon of the free press itself, China has stayed mostly quiet on the Khashoggi affair. But Beijing is also all business: China is Saudi Arabia’s largest trading partner, and the kingdom remains a good oil “hedge” for China as pressure on Iran ramps up. Furthermore, China is probably keen to profit from any downgrade in the kingdom’s relations with the West over the Khashoggi affair.

Russia’s investment chief and a 30-person delegation: No one loves to court jilted American allies in the Middle East more than Russia. Moscow has stayed out of the Khashoggi fray and is quietly hoping that the scandal does erode Washington’s ties to the kingdom, not least in the area of arms sales which Russia would love to make to Riyadh. Russia is also eager to take part, along with China, in the lucrative IPO of Saudi’s state-backed oil giant, Saudi Aramco.

Trump; "Let's wait and see how it turns out"

Trump: "Saudi Arabia screwed up and we will punish those responsible!"

Make up your mind people..

S'easy.

Trump is pathetic. No two ways about it.

What is the Sharia law penalty for murder?

Quisas (eye for an eye) and Diya (payment to the family)?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

the Fu, What is the **Sharia law penalty for murder?**

Quisas (eye for an eye) and Diya (payment to the family)?

The punishment is just simple beheading with Sword.

Crown Prince said "recently, his neck was suddenly very itchy and it give me goosebumps every times I think about Khashoggi".

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Why is it you guys bandy about Muslim terrorists so much (Trump now saying they are buried in with the Caravans from South America!) but you sure to love them if they're from Saudi Arabia.

Simple. The Saudis who visit America are rich and buy $millions in "stuff". Also, Saudis leave after losing $200K+ at the gambling tables. Saudis who visit the USA tend to be educated.

Poor people, with no family support system, take decades before they pay back, if ever.

Life isn't fair. Anyone who said it was lied.

"Trump's showing his absolute lack of morality. Instead of condemning whoever it was in the Saudi royal family who ordered the brutal murder of a US resident..."

Yeah, we all expect Mr. Bone Saw ordered it but we have no proof. I don't see Erdogan, Putin or Xi or any other head of state condemning Mr. Bone Saw either.

And keep in mind, this did not happen in the U.S and the murdered man was not a U.S. citizen.

"Trump loves doing about-faces as much as his imbecilic supporters love following suit. They have no integrity."

Thanks for the insult.

Although the relationship with the Saudis is extremely important they need to feel some sort of pain.

Proper boycott of trade now. Trump has no problem welching on deals without any provocation, so he can easily halt this travesty of dealing with bona fide terrorists and human rights violaters.

That won't happen, at least not in the way the world would like to see it.

Unlike a most liberals that pretend to be concerned. I find it funny that everyone is so outraged and the left want answers, but at the same time they hate the Saudis for 911, which one is it? I don't like the Saudis at all, but I know how strategically important they are to the US, there is No Way that relationship is cut, No President. The lying media try and try and try.
