If this results in a lasting peace, it sounds like a start.

Has anyone seen reported in any media outlet how much more military equipment will be sent to those states Jared's made these 'deals' with. And if the military equipment is used to attack Iran, can this be called a 'peace' deal.

Curious how Iran's partner Russia views what's going on.

The Middle East will become much less important to world affairs when the demand for oil and gas decrease, i.e. when less oil and gas are burned. Until then, expect higher military budgets, more taxpayer moneys spent to finance the globe's defense industries, less money for the general population.

And expect even greater risks of wars for control of oil, gas and their shipment.

Historic peace deal. Trump has changed the whole dynamic in the Middle East. This deal, UAE and Bahrain could not have been achieved while the US was propping up Iran. The real schism in the region is between Sunni and Shite. Acknowledging this reality was key in making these two peace deals happen. Look for more nations to step forward further isolating Iran and the extremist leaders of the Palestinians.

Awesome. Congratulations!

Trump is delusional if he actually thinks Iran will trust his administration given his administration ripped up the previous agreement without cause.

Trump is signaling to the remaining Gulf states and putting the Iranian Ayatollahs on the defensive. Everyone knows the Iranians are state sponsors of terror and have no interest in peace.

Probably not and it doesn’t matter in the long run as long as there is lasting peace in the ME, people balked at Egypt and Israel when they both signed the peace accord as well as the one signed by Israel and Jordan, Iran is being more isolated and now it’s up to the Mullahs to forge lasting peace with Israel, if they don’t that’s on them. The majority of the Iranians do want peace with Israel and the US and the Ayatollah could make a huge historic difference if he could put his religious anger aside and push for everlasting peace.

Curious how Iran's partner Russia views what's going on.

No one cares what they think, it’s irrelevant regarding the lives of the people in the region

The Middle East will become much less important to world affairs when the demand for oil and gas decrease, i.e. when less oil and gas are burned. Until then, expect higher military budgets, more taxpayer moneys spent to finance the globe's defense industries, less money for the general population.

And that and the world dependency on the Middle East will continue for quite some time at least in our lifetime and at least realistically for another 25 to 40 years, but that should never stop the progress of peace and will and should define a better solution for the region, that doesn’t mean that The rest of the world shouldn’t come up with better fuel alternatives or that we shouldn’t wean ourselves off oil, we should, but for now we all need the ME.

And expect even greater risks of wars for control of oil, gas and their shipment.

at this rate and if the administration can broker more peace deals between Israel and other small Arab countries, the risk of wars breaking out will seem less likely.

CNN:

No mention of Middle East peace—“White House event with large crowd, little social distancing.”

-5 ( +6 / -11 )

Traitors.

they are stupid. Trump promised UAE F-35s in return for signing. Now the Israeli leader who faces fraud charges is saying that he told trump that in no way can UAE get those planes OR other high tech weapons.

there are both fraudsters and suckers in this world.

This is a good development, Israel has been a pariah too long.

However will it bring peace in the region, don't think so!!

At least the Blue Room Balcony is better than the upside down, back to front bible photo op, but in the end it's all the same eyewash. No way will Trump get his "Noble" (sic). "Give Peace a Chance" is just a song to whistle in the wind. Real peace requires hard work, a task Trump has shown himself utterly incapable of.

Television. cant Google TV.

look at the screenshot of the TV screen here while it was going on.

Coronavirus Pandemic

Trump holds White House event with large crowd, little social distancing.

not a word about the historic nature of what we were seeing.

At least two of the guys in the photo are criminals and should be in jail.

Trump is delusional if he actually thinks Iran will trust his administration given his administration ripped up the previous agreement without cause.

What, you actually want Iran to continue to fund terrorists and develop a nuclear bomb?

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

I don't remember these countries actually having problems with Israel. Is this really such a big deal? Get Israel and Palestinians together, and THAT would be a big dea.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

cant wait to see Trump get that "Noble peace prize" for all of this. Liberal media already writing articles claiming its not a big deal really to even get it. While avoiding using Obama getting one as an example of that.

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

The "Make Israel Great Again" project rumbles on. America since 1948 has given Israel billions of dollars, military hardware, tech, nuclear weapons, fought wars on their behalf and sacrificed the lives of thousands. Curious thing, that.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

cant wait to see Trump get that "Noble peace prize" for all of this.

Sorry, won't happen.

Maybe boy wonder Jared Kushner can get a Noble peace prize for having set up some business and arms deals between rich Middle East countries who aren't in conflict. And make himself, his in-laws, and his cronies some money at the same time.

It's a win-win for the fat cats!

gokai_wo_maneku - I don't remember these countries actually having problems with Israel. Is this really such a big deal?

Obama received a "Noble" for being of half Irish decent, and then being elected POTUS. Since March 1901, it has been awarded annually (with some exceptions) to those who have "done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses. Obama's selection must have been one of those exceptions.

Brokering two agreements in the Middle East should put Trump on the short list of this years nominees, if not earn Trump the top spot. Who has done anything even close to such an accomplishment?

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Look for more nations to step forward further isolating Iran and the extremist leaders of the Palestinians.

you'll never get real peace in the middle east unless the Palestine issue is resolved and Iran is in agreement, unilaterally declaring Jerusalem ,one of the Muslim worlds holiest places, the capital of Israel is never going to achieve peace just make it worse.

cant wait to see Trump get that "Noble peace prize" for all of this.

thats what Trump doesnt get people who get the peace prize dont actively pursue it, he just wants it because Obama got it, purely egotistical. Do you really think a person who locks kids in cages, bans Muslims from entering the US, but Muslims from countries rich in oil are ok. is going to get it? , LOL

2 ( +4 / -2 )

real peace will never be obtained in the middle east until the Palestine and Iran issue is resolved, Trump

just doent have what it takes

Today is indeed historic. Donald Trump achieved what every U.S. leader since JFK could not: a signed peace deal in the Middle East. He is truly the Greatest. President. Ever.

Well CNN reported that former president Obama ate a bagel for breakfast this morning. I mean, what else does the man have to do to get the world recognition he serves?

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Those evangelicals rejoicing over this "peace" deal and who support the sainted Donald J. Trump either as "the Chosen One", or "the baby Christian" and eagerly look forward to the year 2050 when Jesus returns to gather "the faithful" into Heaven and cast down all "unbelievers" (including the Jews) into Hell will be setting themselves up for a tremendous shock when "the Last Trump" arrives earlier than anticipated, on January 20th, 2021.

See a Nobel prize on the horizon, not for anything special just a case of "my turn, my turn" an extra million dollars that's a lot of pawn stars to pay off. Yahoooo

ROFL, don't they teach history over there? There is something called the Oslo accord, better look it up.

Israel was never at war with the UAE and Bahrain so wonder how trump and his followers classify it as a peace deal.

Meanwhile Hamas fires rockets into Israel and Israel sends its planes to attack Gaza.

Some peace eh!!!

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Another photo op and ego trip for the most egotistical ass on planet Earth. Jimmy Carter he isn't. No Nobel Peace Prize for him!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

you'll never get real peace in the middle east unless the Palestine issue is resolved and Iran is in agreement, unilaterally declaring Jerusalem ,one of the Muslim worlds holiest places, the capital of Israel is never going to achieve peace just make it worse

they’ve tried for years in years on numerous occasions to make peace with the Palestinians and they don’t want to and not in good faith and even most of the Arabs with the exception of Saudi Arabia don’t care about the plight of the Palestinians, they’re not doing anything for them, so what are the Palestinians doing with the money that they’re getting? They’re not building new schools or new infrastructure, if the Middle East peace process is focused only square on the Palestinian issue, you’ll never have peace or stability in the region at all, so at this point, they’ll become a side issue.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

There is something called the Oslo accord, better look it up.

And who were the signatories of the Oslo Accord? Israel and the PLO. And who is missing from today's signing? The PLO. President Trump recognized something that for decades the .U.S. ambassadorial corps did not: That Hamas was and always will be the road block to peace in that region of the world. So, he chose to work around them.

Hamas needs to get used to the idea that the world is moving on without them; That Israel can offer peaceful benefits by forging different partnerships with other nations in that part of the globe. Today!s signing proved Hamas no longer has anything to offer.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

he chose to work around them.

Today!s signing proved Hamas no longer has anything to offer.

Today's signing proved that Donald and Bibi have given up on the difficult problem: the Palestinian one. Making "peace" between Bahrain, U.A.E., and Israel is like making "peace" between California, Arizona, and Nevada.

To paraphrase a Finnish expression, you can choose your friends, but you can't choose your neighbors. The Palestinians, including Hamas, are still Israel's neighbors--no matter how many high tech tie-ups are made with the rich Gulf states.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Israel and the PLO. And who is missing from today's signing?

This is even funnier. Shouldn't a peace accord between Israel and Palestinians involve the Palestinians?

That Hamas was and always will be the road block to peace in that region of the world.

So how will signing a peace deal with the UAE help?

Today!s signing proved Hamas no longer has anything to offer.

They fired rockets and Israel sent in fighter jets, doesn't look like the UAE and Bahrain were able to do much.

UAE is involved in a few brutal wars of its own, Yemen and Libya, so signing 'peace deals' with them for Palestine seems ironic!!!

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

trump has as much chance of winning a Nobel as I have of winning a Pulitzer for my posts on this site.

real peace will never be obtained in the middle east until the Palestine and Iran issue is resolved

“The Iran issue“ is that peace and good relations with the US and Israel is the last thing the Iranian mullah regime wants.

They need that “Great Satan” there to distract their populace from the corruption and inadequacies of their regime. Without an external enemy to constantly blame and rail against the Islamic regime in Iran would collapse. Nobody knows it better than them.
