Trump's fishing for the Saudi's to buy more of his apartments.

Trump's fishing for the Saudi's to buy more of his apartments.

Also to sell his brand name to the highest bidding property developers throughout the Kingdom, plus get Saudi ARAMCO to increase oil supplies to keep prices down so the overgoosed-up US economy looks even better in the run-up to next months elections.

The economy after that? Pffft. That's for gens X, Y and Z to sort out.

Very dodgy narrative this whole affair. The Saudis have been rumbled and their excuse is pathetic.

Many parts of the narrative yet to be explained to the waiting masses!

Surely, bone saw makers around the world must now be wondering how the markets will react?

Could this be the start of a new trend?

Bone saws that allow the rendered body parts to vanish into thin air!

The future is certainly a mysterious place....

"Trump's fishing for the Saudi's to buy more of his apartments."

And if he said is satisfied with the Saudi handling of this, you would have said the same thing. Too funny.

If he offered all the murder suspects presidential pardons (I know, he can't but would that stop him?), you would still be saying he was the greatest president since Lincoln.

Simon - No. If this had happened in the Saudi embassy in Washington, he wouldn't be issuing presidential pardons, and if he did me and a bunch of Republicans would call him out on that.

Now that would never happen.

he was the greatest president since Lincoln

Close though

Why do we choose NOW to get outraged over the death of a p/t WaPo guest columnist in a consulate, which is considered as sovereign Saudi territory? Seems to me the media is using the issue to sway the US mid-term elections. I can't see any other reason.

I agree 100%

I can understand Trump's dissatisfaction with his so-called Saudi allies and friends. What kind of "ally" and "friend" repeatedly lies to your face? What kind of "friend" continues to lie to you, even when you both know your "friend" still isn't telling the truth?

It's clear that the Saudis are incapable of telling the truth and cannot be trusted. They claim to be fighting terrorists but are actually funding them. It's better to have nothing to do with such people: only a fool would refer to them as "friends" and "allies" given their appalling behaviour.

The Saudis are not a friend of America, they are an esteemed client.

Simon - No. If this had happened in the Saudi embassy in Washington...

Where did you get Washington from? I never mentioned it or envisaged such a scenario. Actually though... the apologist spiel seems to be that as terrible as the Saudis may be the US and its allies need their oil and intel so basically they must be appeased and Donald Trump cannot make much of a fuss over this killing in Turkey. If they can get away with that, what else can they get away with? Imagine they do start hacking up US citizens on US soil. Doesn't alter the fact that America needs the oil and the intel, right? America will be screwed if the Saudis decide to hook up with the Chinese or Russians, so it kind of looks like they'll just get up to whatever bad stuff they like and Donald Trump will just keep making excuses for them like a big, bloated, spineless wuss.

Whatever Trump does about Saudi Arabia it won't be good enough. He's dammed if he does and screwed if he doesn't. Same with the mob approaching the border.
