In other words, Trump's just once again talking tough for his far right base. Included in that base are those whose political beliefs are the main reason ANTIFA was established. Which is, unfortunately the reason an organization like ANTIFA needs to continue to exist. It's pretty hard for many who believe in democratic principles to read history and ignore what fascists have done.

Not a surprise coming from someone who thought there were 'Very Fine People ' in Charlottesville .
Nor from a person who found nothing wrong with armed Klansmen in Michigan!!!

If you're anti-antifa, aren't you pro-fascism?
Busby
Sure, like covfefe...
SuperLib
No, he won't.

Trump’s group, Anti-fact, should be designated as a terrorist organization.
Toasted Heretic
LOL
Good luck with trying to take down an organisation that isn't an organisation.
Antifa means anti-fascist. It can apply to WW2 veterans to people who believe racism is a bad thing. Literally, everyone except racists, are antifa.
Toasted Heretic
This is all nonsense. Fascist thugs usually get a good pasting, from Cable Street (when Jews, Irish and trade unions took on the Blackshirts) right up to this very moment.
And how did the US treat your black heroes when they returned from the war?
(We know how black soldiers were treated by their fellow white soldiers when they were stationed in the UK.
The British welcomed them and the white US soldiers try to enforce segregation.)
The evil culture of American racism has come to a head.
No more.

Donald Trump is hiding in a bunker now! The white house is surround by freedom fighters!
Strangerland
Your president has already made a joke of himself and your country. Why shouldn't the rest of the world do so as well? It's not like we have any say in the mess you have going on there right now.
Toasted Heretic
There is no funding, anti-fascism has been around (in many different shapes and forms) for around a century.
Any decent minded person who opposes bigotry, is anti-fascist. Whether they take to the streets, or argue online, or elect a candidate.

Here's one definition of fascism. How could a group set up to fight fascism be fascistic. Unless you're just using 'fascist' as a pejorative.
To me a current example of fascism is the Russian system, maybe also Chinese.

It's another squirrel by Trump. He's clueless on how to deal with this issue (one needs to actually be a leader to know how to lead), so once again he's trying to focus attention anywhere than on himself.
In the Trump white house, responsibility does NOT lie at the top, and the buck stops somewhere else.

Antifa - an organization that exists only in Trump's and his supporters minds - just like the "caravans" that were storming our southern border last year...
If he really wanted to stop the violence he would tell his white supremacist supporters to stop instigating all of it, and go back to their basements with the Confederate flags on the wall.
Don't expect that to happen - he needs the violence to distract from the 100K deaths and 41 million unemployed he is responsible for...
So expect more hate speech and vitriol from "GOD" - the Great Orange Divider...

All? Most likely there could be some. But I'd say probably most actually believe that fascism, like any form of totalitarianism, is something that should be fought against.
It doesn't require reading a lot of history to know how hideous fascism has been.
That ultraright movements are growing in the US and around the globe is making an increasing number of people value democratic principles and taking stands to counter far right growth.
Trump's attempts to take greater powers for himself as executive and increasingly involving his office in the affairs of private businesses are signs he's pushing the country even farther to the right. And getting pushback as a result.

Most Americans, especially 'the poorly educated' that only follow what's said or written on fringe media outlets, e.g. those that are part of Trump's media, know ANTIFA is a term used like hoax, witch hunt, socialism, Hillary, Obama, climate change. They know Trump and his media say it's bad, so it must be bad. They have no clue what ANTIFA was set up to do. Most have little if any ability to differentiate fascism from democracy or any other system. Look at how socialism is used by many posters on this site, for example.

The far right - threatening regular people. AGAIN.

Interesting take on the ANTIFA situation. We cannot rerally comment on it if we have not experienced it or have actual contact with those who have faced it. However, for the AG and Trump who have access to more direct evidential facts in their hands than most Americans (via FBI, NSA, State and Local police) to have reacted in this manner indicates that it is a "problem" at the least and in fact as "threatening" to our American society as a terror group. At least Trump already have much too many "negatives" being placed against him and with elections coming up, he has no reason to increase his unpopularity, but to improve it. Therefore, this issue may not be arguable as his misplacement of authority or sounding off just to create a problem for himself.

It is about time Antifa was taken done.
Perpetually masked( of course) seeking to create mayhem.
Instigators of hate and violence have no place in society!
bass4funk
It’s not that hard to do. The mafia also thought it was invincible at one point.
But their violence and tactics are the exact opposite and represent the very danger and definition of fascism.
bass4funk
By using fascist tactics. There is not one video where these radical fools sit down and refrain from using violence, they can’t and would never do that. Anyone they disagree with including the government means it needs to be demolished in their eyes.
Blacklabel
No, it actually exists. Everyone knows this.
Blacklabel
no, its an ironic name given to themselves without any truth to it. Kinda like North Korea calling itself the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea.
They call themselves Antifa, but all they are is a bunch of mommys boys dressing up in black and going out and throwing bricks and burning things in black neighborhoods.
Unless that Target store was somehow fascist and required looting to restore order to the world?
Blacklabel
now tell me how looting discount stores to place blame on black people and to incite more racial strife falls into the anti-fascist mantra?
bass4funk
And besides destroying property, vandalism, looting and destruction besides the noise and getting on peoples nerves, they achieved nothing and please don’t equate the marchers of Selma to Antifa, that is serious insult to MLK and his peaceful movement.
Yeah, looking at the National Guard and how they’re mobilizing, it would seem the anarchy ride will come to an end very soon, the partying is on a time clock now.

OC Antifa
@OCAntifa
Attention Antifa "comrades": today marks the end of an almost three year operation. Our infiltration of your movement was a success, and the faces and identities of everyone who has attended or financially supported Marxist and seditious activities has been recorded.
Oops.
Blacklabel
guess I need to be the one to break up the Antifa love party.
Its being designated as a domestic terrorism organization. As it should be.
Blacklabel
Asia Cruz, 24, attended the protest in Oakland on Friday night with her fiancé and a friend, and said it began as a peaceful march through the streets. Then she noticed “a group of maybe 12-15 white men” dressed in black, carrying hammers and crowbars.
They ripped down boards covering a Chase Bank, smashed the windows and set off a firework inside. They then moved to a Walgreens across the street and did the same before moving towards Oakland City Hall, she said.

Well, fine then. If it doesnt exist then its non existent members wont mind being labelled as domestic terrorists.
And its non members can just be arrested as looters and vandals without having to listen to their nonsense claims about how they are anti-fascist so they have some right to beat up people, attack the police and destroy property.
They even defaced the WW2 memorial.
WW2- Where actual American heroes fought against actual Nazis. an antifa member would pee his pants if he ever saw a real Nazi, but our heroes fought and defeated them.
Blacklabel
There have been videos of Antifa spray painting BLM slogans on buildings and getting caught by actual black community members. Antifa taking out his wallet and paying black kids to destroy things, caught on video.
Antifa was using a hammer to break concrete off from a sidewalk to throw at police. The actual protesters jumped him and turned him over to the police.
Times are a'changing for our newly identified domestic terrorism group. They had better hope they didnt take their cell phone with them when they went "protesting". Remember that movement tracking capability from the long ago days of coronavirus? oops.
Blacklabel
not an organization, so you wont mind if Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Gmail and the entire internet takes down all the communication channels for you to speak to each other and plan terrorist activities.
You guys can mail letters to each other or use carrier pigeons. Or take a risk and use your personal phone which can now be subject to surveillance under domestic terrorism law.
Blacklabel
just cant stay on the topic of Antifa. not surprising as its indefensible what they are doing in the black communities. We need to get to the bottom of their funding and who is behind it all.
Blacklabel
and everyone except antifa, are not domestic terrorists in the USA. good luck.
Blacklabel
satire from the UK presented as fact to deflect from the real issue of Antifa in the USA. not surprising.
