It is because people haven't been following the rules that Victoria is having to head back into lockdown. Stage two would be better.

Because people haven't been following the rules, active enforcement is now required. No wall is required, just appropriate forces to do their job.

This has worked before and won't be forever.

Be smart and have hope people.

I agree to that action!

I always say keep the borders closed!

Except when you don’t.

This is just a Virus.

So is HIV. Are you so cavalier about that as well?

Ebola is also a virus. Destroys the body. Kills something like 60%.

"Just" is not a word that should be used in conjunction with virus. Doing so shows either a complete lack of awareness of what a virus is, or an intention to troll (the Russian troll factories like to stir up division).

This is just a Virus.

Raise your hand if you've contracted the 'just a virus'. Oh, you haven't? I figured that.

It's funny how no one who has actually had the virus comes out saying 'it's just a virus'... I wonder why. No, actually I don't wonder that. I've had it myself. I know why no one who has experienced it would be so dismissive.

Australians are paying the price for not being careful. Just like I did. And my roommate who caught it by taking care of me while I was sick, who still can't breath properly a month after recovering.

Melbourne going to stage 3 lock down when it needs to be stage 2. Essential services only and everyone else stay home. Stage 3 wont work if people are still going to work and spreading it there. They still don't get that it has to be strong and done right to beat this thing. Going half hearted will just mean pain for people without the results. And they need to recommend face masks for all people when indoors in public.

With the wrong choices this will just take so much longer to get over.

Too bad the virus doesn't understand political borders. Wonder when the US will start to do the same? Fun times!

@Northernlife

Glad I reside in Japan where they can ask us to do something not force it down our throats..

Me too.

Military and police operation going on to monitor all cross-border activity

"There's serious fines and indeed, a jail sentence, to anyone that wants to push the envelope."

Sounds like Australia is going to be a Police and Military state.

Why don't they build up a wall? Like the Berlin Wall.

My God, people...relax!  This is just a Virus. Not a war!

I agree to close Borders, but not in that way!
