America has a gun culture, Somalia also has a violent gun cuture so I dont see why the director would belive that.

I hate to say it, but maybe it will take the death of a white person to make people think more about guns and gun violence in the US. Because with all the other police shootings of predominantly black or Hispanic people, there hasn't been the outcry we are seeing with this case.
nandakandamanda
Er, I think there was a far far bigger outcry over some of the recent shootings of black people.

Any disagreements?

Bachmann should retire... Clever as an empty bullet casing in a dark alley.

What a moronic point. None of these facts would be obvious to anyone.
That's more like it.

How and why have law enforcement agencies become overrun with trigger happy officers? The esteem that the law enforcement community has earned over the course of history is based on their willingness to put THEIR lives in danger to protect others; not to put OTHERS lives in danger to protect themselves.

I had honestly forgotten what a hateful, horrible person she is.
Basically, in people's rush to side with police against the many, many complaints about police violence against innocent minority victims, they've created an atmosphere of authoritarianism. When people respond to the words "Black lives matter!" with either a conspiracy theory about anyone who would say them or the smug, simplistic retort "Blue lives matter!" what they're saying is that they endorse police because of who they are, not how they do their job. The natural evolution of that mindset is the police can do their jobs however they want because they can do no wrong.

You have the right to remain silent. Murder-2 charges. Soon. Accessory to murder charges for the partner. Both their lives will change, for at least 10 yrs.
There are places where it is necessary to have and perhaps use a firearm for your safety from dangerous animals.
From yesterday's news: "Alabama man shoots huge wild boar in his front garden"
Plus there is that pesky US Constitution which needs to be altered.
I understand that city-folks might not understand this any more than I understand getting on a subway surrounded by 50 other people every day it a part of your lives. But I can imagine what that it like and see why certain behaviors on subways is needed. Open your minds.

As much as I'm anti-gun, I do think that hunting rifles should be allowed. They are not the problem. The problem is handguns and assault rifles.

It's a shame but you're more likely to be killed in the US than North Korea. Even if you are obeying the law whilst in the States.
Citizen2012
Rather you MUST NOT shoot unarmed people who call the cops!

Some one suddenly appearing at the car window in the dark of night can be disconcerting. Had one with a gun in his hand at my window - required a lot of talking to escape. Suspect it is best to consider all police in the same way one acts around venomous snakes - move slowly, no sudden moves, and above all do not get too close. The popular mind set in the US makes the country the most dangerous in the world and requires sophisticated behavior for survival.
