do you see anyone practicing safe distancing?
bass4funk
No, not at all. Criticizing someone because you feel they are not forceful enough is not implying you are weak, although he did criticize Kushner for being in trumps ear too much, the weak liberal he is. Yeah, I watched it as well.
That was Trucker’s opinion, I wouldn’t know, we didn’t go to lunch this week.
Again, Coulter can’t even get booked on any television station these days, so sensationalism is something that she hopes that can help get her back on TV kind of like in the same situation as Kathy Griffin.
Robertson is a staunch supporter, but is more of a liberal Christian, he has his views like we all do.

"It doesn't take much to be a good leader or speaker these days. The current occupant in the WH has lowered the bar quite a bit."
I'd be happy with complete, coherent sentences at this point. Doubt me? Go read his answer to the nuclear triad. Don't watch it, read the actual text.

@Bass
You think 110,000 people died of COVID-19 because of rioting?!
@Black
How do you know? Please provide evidence of the is rocketing stock market!
LOL! You do realize the average middle income and low income households don't play the stock market.
What they see is 110,000 people dead, 40,000,000 unemployed including themselves, riots in major cities, and their president constantly lying to them.
A lot of those people on furlough will not be hired back!
Busby
No, it means Carlson was criticizing him as "weak" - is Tucker correct?
How about his take on Jared Kushner - does Jared hold Trump voters in "contempt" and mock them?
And once again - is Ann Coulter right was she called Trump; "actual disloyal retard", "moron", and "lout"...
Also, Pat Robertson - is he right when he said Trump "isn't cool"...
Numan
@Black
Not knowing doesn't mean it isn't true, and you selectively read what fits your narrative and ignore the rest. so how would you know.

They have, but not the liberal networks, not quite balanced, eh...
Being critical doesn’t mean you hate the guy, BIG, BIG difference.
Most aren’t, this is what I’m talking about when it comes to The dishonest media.

our side is allowed to disagree.
the liberals side, you can’t even write a neutral headline without being forced to change it to a blame filled one.
Happened again yesterday with NY Times.
so let me guess? The stock market isn’t part of the economy when it is rocketing up, but is when it’s going down?
PTownsend
The media? Not even Fox 'news'? Sinclair Broadcasting? One America News? Limbaugh? Colter?
However, I just read Tucker Carlson among others in the far right press have been highly critical of him. And now some in his military are backing away from him. Rough days.

Trump is getting 20% of the black vote.
Not sure about 20%, could very well be, but it'll be at least 15%.
He won 2016 with 8%. There is no math for Biden or whoever might replace him. His latest speech was a disaster.
But Trump and his supporters have said all along they wanted to undermine US systems.
Drain the swamp, anyone?
They've found it's easy to destroy things, but haven't clue one how to replace it.
Trump and his supporters aren't the ones destroying things, the rioters and looters and Democrat city policies are.
Trump wants to build America up, not tear it down: Sarah Sanders

PTownsend
Like 'but liberals'? But there's no denying under Trump's watch so many have died from the virus, many because of his admin's bungling, the economy's crashing - with questionable abilities to ever recover - and the worst rioting the country's ever seen continue. Reality bites.
Blacklabel
Yes, we hear this every single day.
Its just a repetitive talking point by now that has all the meaning stripped from it due to overuse as a political attack.
bass4funk
Thank China and the rioters for that. Looks like that cured the COVID-19
So what will the Democrat governors do about.
Because the media doesn’t want to focus on the accomplishments
PTownsend
Trump's organizations and their employees pushing alt facts must mean they're at the desperate stage.
No wonder: under Trump's watch nearly 110,000 (and counting) Americans have died from a pandemic he ignored, the economy is rapidly sinking, millions are out of work, millions are standing in foodlines reminiscent of picts from the Great Depression and the country is seeing rioting on a scale never seen before.
Will Trump do a wag the dog in his ongoing attempts to distract from his growing list of failures?
Blacklabel
when you start with saying the United States has been a country for 400 years, I dont need to read any further.
Numan
@Black
You not reading much has been your problem all along!
PTownsend
But Trump and his supporters have said all along they wanted to undermine US systems. They even welcomed 'foreign' meddling to help bring the country down. They've found it's easy to destroy things, but haven't clue one how to replace it.
Blacklabel
Trump is getting 20% of the black vote.
We can discuss that November 4th as to why it happened, if it doesnt become obvious already by then.
bass4funk
You are the one that tried to generalize the country.
No, we were just astounded that the liberal governors didn’t do anything to stop it".
Yes, turn on your TV.
Yes and go to the black communities and tell me how the riots of past years helped them or made drastic changes.
Blacklabel
but yet one party demands their vote. as some type of required show of appreciation to Dems for things never done and a down payment on future promises that never seem to be kept.
bass4funk
I was talking about the American left and their policies.
A lot of people including Europeans don’t understand our countries history.
I disagree. The Democrats don’t want, but as far as Republicans go, we don’t know most blacks don’t vote for Republicans so we can’t definitively say.
You keep confusing rioting, vandalism with legitimate protesting.
Toasted Heretic
Er, I said I'd been to America & gave my reactions to it. You automatically assumed where I'd been.
Yes, racism was never a problem for the elite (Democrat or Republican). That's why they are so shocked when it flares up like this. Things were so much better when the proletariat knew its place.
It's ironic you have to ask. Read any of your posts over the last few years?
But that has nothing to do with the suggestion I made about doing some research into how American corporations made their money.
So, if you do know what anarchism is, why call the riots anarchism, when clearly they have nothing to do with anarchism? If you wish to focus on the ideology, for example, the communes of Catalonia, or Mutualism in the US and Europe, or the Levellers and Diggers in England, I'd be interested in seeing how you can draw a parallel between those and the rioters.
Back to the goings on at present, if one has a clear understanding of history of one's country and how it has impacted on the present - surely it's not unheard of people revolting when they've had enough of being serfs? America did have a significant rebellion against her former colonial masters, you know.
bass4funk
I never assumed you were, I just said, the majority of minority cities are dangerous, that’s a fact and that’s due to the depressive deplorable policies of the Democrat party.
Mine was y’know American, we were mixed and lived in peace and quiet, racism was never a problem.
What do they look like, screaming all day?
You should read what the Democrats are doing to the black community.
I do, there is no justification for looting and causing pain to people that have nothing to do with these childish antics.
.
Toasted Heretic
Good for you. I'm shocked at most of them as well. However, I wasn't talking about liberals, I was talking about the American right.
In particular, the lack of knowledge of their own country's history. My comment was directed to another poster, but perhaps you'd like to comment on the legacy of peonage and how it informs today's narrative?
Be honest, neither party wants black Americans to succeed in America. It challenges conservative white hegemony.
This is why the riots are happening. It's why they happened in South Africa against the apartheid regime and why it happened in the 6 Counties/NI against the sectarian ruling classes and a brutal police force.
SuperLib
"Because nothing of these things happen to me."
Toasted Heretic
You have no idea where I've been in the US. But you automatically assume "minority".
I thought American cities were, y'know, American? But it appears you still are stuck in the segregationist mindset.
I've been to rich enclaves (including at least one of the above). Gated communities, angry white people. Hell on earth, but with more sunshine and comfy chairs.
You should do some research into how the established big US corporations made their money. They still loot and steal from the little people.
It's called an uprising. If you actually understood anarchism (especially anarcho-syndicalism) you'd know that it's basically about cohesion and order.
bass4funk
I’m shocked at liberals in general.
Yes, they do.
Democrat policies have decimated the black community
This is why as long as blacks support and vote for Democrats nothing to change...ever.
Blacklabel
why is it immediately assumed that black people are poor?
Even Biden said this "poor kids are as bright as white kids". Where does this come from?
Black Americans have the same healthcare from their employment as everyone else of any race at that job has. Education, there are grants and scholarships restricted only to Black Americans, as well as HBCUs which got extra funding from the Trump administration.
Employment, a black American will be the next Supreme Court justice and the next VP, according to Biden. I am aware of no jobs that restrict Black Americans from being hired and some performance based jobs are more likely to hire only black Americans. Basic human rights, I am not aware of any that Black Americans are excluded from having.
sounds good as concepts to say people dont have this or that, but I dont see the reality of it when they do have it.
bass4funk
Most of the minority cities are.
Not where I live, go to Orange County, San Diego, Napa, North Las Vegas, Dallas, it’s a paradise.
So being rich is bad, but looting and stealing is good? So hard work shouldn’t be criteria to prosperity
Then we would have what we are having now, complete anarchy.
Toasted Heretic
I'm shocked at the ignorance of the American right. It's like a refusal to see any facts, or context that might challenge their entrenched views.
The whole system is deliberately stacked against the poor. Black people, in particular are the worst hit from the legacy of generations of prejudice.
From healthcare, to education, from employment to basic human rights. And yes, all this happens (look at Flint) under successive administrations - no matter who is in charge.
Blacklabel
as are non black people. so what is this "status" that Black Americans are supposedly held in against their will?
Blacklabel
I stopped reading right here.
Toasted Heretic
For those of you, who (for whatever reasons) have gaps in your knowledge of history, this is the writer Barrett Holmes Pitner from 2 years ago:
However, following the abolition of slavery, laws similar to the slave codes continued to oppress black people.
Following the Civil War, these "black codes" had the explicit purpose of depriving newly freed black Americans of the rights they had won. Black codes varied from state to state, but their legal foundation centred on vagrancy laws that allowed for an African American to be arrested if he was unemployed or homeless. They applied to countless blacks because housing and employment opportunities for freed blacks in the South were almost non-existent after the war.
Supporters of Virginia's Vagrancy Act of 1866, one of these measures, stated that it would reinstitute "slavery in all but its name".
White Southerners would report blacks for vagrancy, and law enforcement would arrest them and sentence African-Americans to up three months of forced labour on public or private lands.
The federal government fought against black codes during Reconstruction by electing former abolitionists and freed blacks to public office, and creating laws and adding amendments to the US Constitution to protect the rights of black Americans.
But following the collapse of Reconstruction in 1877, Southern states brought them back. Black codes became the bedrock of state constitutions. Poll taxes and literacy exams to prevent African Americans from voting soon became the norm. Jim Crow and racial segregation, which governed the South until the 1960s, are outgrowths of those laws.
As black families fled the South in the 20th Century during the Great Migration, black codes followed them to Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and elsewhere. Black Americans - who were domestic refugees fleeing state-funded terrorism - allegedly brought crime, unemployment, vagrancy, and drugs. Police departments across America responded with more black codes and aggressive policing of black communities.

Trump and the Repubs are going to be routed out in Nov in a landslide...Americans just have to look back at the last four years and see;
Over 100K Americans dead and 41 million out of work...
An economy that is a smoking hole and will take years to rebuild...
Mass protests and violence by far-right white supremacist and militia groups...
The US no longer a leader on the world stage by withdrawing from treaties and international forums...
A polarized society fed by hate-speech directly from the White House...
So, who will Americans blame? Maybe they'll agree with a certain Candidate for President in 2016 who when asked if George Bush was responsible for the 9/11 terror attacks said...."it happened during his reign"....
We all know who has "reigned" over the past four years...

It's a fascinating place. I have found it to be welcoming, contradictory and harsh. Basically, it's a third world country but with a thin veneer of gloss. It exports and champions the rich and those who profit out of it. It's only times like this we get to see what it's really like.
If more money was diverted away from pointless military adventures and interfering in other countries, it might have a chance.
Numan
@Black
You are right! The US has on been a country for 400 years. For the first 256 years, slavery was legal. The next 100 years after that Jim Crow laws and the KKK made it legal to segregate and discriminate against African Americans. It has been only 60 years since African-Americans were given equal rights during the civil rights movement. Most of the Black Civil Rights leaders were killed by white men.
Too my knowledge, the US system was designed to be racist towards POC particularly African-Americans.
Are you saying racism has ended or doesn't exist in the US?

What people fail to appreciate is the significance of our beloved president , trump action yesterday.
He walked more than a few meters without a break.
He held a book.
trump probably would not remember when he did both of these last time.

I agree. The police and ruling classes have brutalized and looted from the poor for far too long. It's time they were jailed and atone for their sins.
Yes, it's true. Liberals need to come off the fence, because they are aiding and abetting the conservative agenda to keep black people in their place. They need to radicalize, otherwise the system will be stacked against the marginalized forever.

That's one perspective; it depends on definition and what the word connotes to individuals. This author has a different view. He claims in parts of the US south prior to WW2 there were still people living under some form of what he calls 'slavery'.

I believe politically 2019/2020, a devastating pandemic, the present horrendous break down in law and order, that frankly can only be viewed as the aftermath/repercussion of a violent death of a black man seemingly alleged at the hands of a police officer will determine decisively Novembers Presential Election.
I have never visited the US. I can only form an opinion, through my US friends, contacts, and the media.
Is Joe Biden really Presidential material, any more or less that President Trump.
For many JT contributors, that is undoubtably a silly question.
bass4funk
Of course not, BUT we are not talking about the peaceful protesters, they should protest most definitely, but we are not talking about these people, we are talking about the violent and vicious thugs that vandalize, riot and loot, we are talking about the anarchists that every single one of these fascist needs to be rounded up and put in prison for a very long time.
Absolutely not! How is destroying another persons business is justified. Liberals need to think deeper.

Steve King, a white nationalist representative from Iowa, has been reelected every term since 2002. My guess is that would take more than 3,000 Americans spread across the country.

I can't see a single point in Biden's speech that isn't divisive. No different to Trump.
Black/white, rich/poor, have/have nots, left/right etc....America will continue to be exploited by divisive politicians on both sides of the fence.
But IMHO, Trump is going to loose this one in going all egotistical 'I'm a strong leader', I'll send in the military ....blah blah. This is a battle of Police vs People, more people vote than police, basic algebra, Trump will loose a lot of votes. I'm just surprised NO ONE, not a single politician has said they stand for 'full federal investigation' into police powers and indemnity. Police brutality is the norm, seems to me, despite the protests, all US politicians would prefer for police brutality to stay as the norms.
Blacklabel
There has been no slavery since 1860s. What "status" are you implying that black people have?
To my knowledge, Joe Biden is even using black skin color as not only a qualifier, but a necessity, for potential the 2nd highest job in the USA.

No, its still theft. a crime. performed by criminals. of any race.

Since you want to minimize the impact, let's look:
https://www.factcheck.org/2019/03/the-facts-on-white-nationalism/
"In an ABC News/Washington Post poll taken just after the Charlottesville rally in August 2017, 9 percent of the respondents said they thought it was strongly or somewhat acceptable to hold neo–Nazi or white supremacist views. As ABC News reported at the time, that’s equivalent to about 22 million Americans."
So no, it's definitely not '3000-5000 at most.'
Numan
@Black
During the 60s, there were around 4 million open KKK members. That is more white nationalists than the number people that Hillary Clinton beat trump by in the last election!
Now most white nationalists hide their identities and hangout on websites like Stormfront that get 43 million views a day.

The bigger hypocrisy is Joe Biden and Democrats giving speeches to the black community about how they were going to improve their lives for the past 50 years!
Blacklabel
why would he need the support of such a minimal number of people? How could that few people even provide support that would be worth anything? Support from people who no one outside of themselves agrees are correct in their way of thinking or their actions?
Numan
It doesn't take much to be a good leader or speaker these days. The current occupant in the WH has lowered the bar quite a bit.
Blacklabel
so how many actual white nationalists are there in the USA? I would say likely 3,000-5000 at most?
Yet there are supposedly the ones who Trump looks to for votes and support to get reelected? Every decision he makes is supposedly with them in mind, huh?
PTownsend
As a white person I would never equate white nationalists with white people. That's one individual's interpretation twisting what I wrote. But I won't get dragged into a one pole or its opposite, no middle positions argument. They're discussion enders, a tactic partisan extremists have long used.
That Trump is unwilling to distance himself from white nationalists can also be interpreted in many ways, including he needs their support.
From what I read roughly 67% of white American males voted for Trump. Given how many millions did and how large that population is I assume within that group there are many who might oppose white nationalism.
Numan
@Black
Not all white people are white nationalists, but all white nationalists are white people or at least believe that they are white people!
Blacklabel
Are you equating white nationalists with white people? (Well of course the non Democrat party members only, Dem voting whites are a-ok!)
How many "white nationalists" do you people in the internet think America actually has? (let me guess, all white people who voted for Trump and some of the black ones too)
TheLongTermer
Old Joe never missing an opportunity...)
I see why they call him sleeply Joe...its like he has to think before making a complete sentence...like there is a missing link in the coherence of his speech
PTownsend
And Trump's supporters encourage his divisiveness. White nationalists recognize the demographic changes happening in the US and know Trump's their great hope, probably their last hope. They're desperate, they want to increase the divides in the country knowing by doing so it makes it easier for Trump to conquer the 'others'. They're even willing to let 'foreign' powers 'meddle' to support their cause. Especially the 'foreign' power whose demographic makeup is most similar to theirs.
