"But Russia's efforts remain an extremely serious national security vulnerability."

Not surprising Trump and many of his Republicans are turning a blind eye to this. While receiving support - according to 'western' intelligence agencies and 'western' media' - from Kremlin troll armies. While the Russians and their useful I's chant 'Can't prove it' and 'West is worse'. NB No nation, including the US, should interfere with other nation's internal affairs.

Russia has repeatedly denied allegations of election meddling and says it does not interfere in the domestic politics of other countries.

Russia's denials are supported by US and other 'western' far right groups pushing to undermine their state's remaining bits of democracy, and to have 'western' systems replaced by a system of national socialism led by an authoritarian, ala Russia.

FB really is a cancer on civil society. It could just make a lot of money by making us interconnected. Instead they choose to make insane amounts of money by letting conspiracy theorists and Russians hijack the site to undermine the West and undercut basic civil liberties.

Ive thought about deleting my account several times.

And Twitter is absolute swill. So glad I’m not there anymore.
