"We should prepare for reconciliation in society by communicating with different people ... We want to put an end to the chaotic situation in Hong Kong," ...

Start by acknowledging the protesters and their requests !

She's trying to look tough but it may really be getting out of control. I hope. HKers must keep fighting for what is their own.

We want to put an end to the chaotic situation in Hong Kong

Maybe she wants the situation to end, but she is clearly not willing to do what it takes to end it, or she would put an end to it by quitting.

This is going to be very interesting, to see how all this turns out!

The communist heads are all against demonstrations but this is how the communists came to power

I throw bricks and explosives at the police. I am not a rioter. I demand you to call us protestors.

Who is going to take you seriously?

Good point. The communists are now the "establishment" and they don't like having their authority challenged. Wouldn't be surprised when Xi issues "shoot to kill" orders against the "criminal rioters."

That's like 30 people on a couple of millions.

Britain needs to step up and say, "We were just kidding about giving HK back. Lolz!" and then take over.

 but gov't in control

That's a bug, not a feature. Who chooses the government? Whose government is it?

Bad days ahead.

A yes the rent-a-triads.

Just tell them it was a "historical document" and it no longer valid and take it back.

The HK authorities and police are acting illegally and the people there are truly fighting for what's theirs. And why is the world not paying more attention? Oh yes, we have this joke called the 'G7' and (ahem) the Amazon forest fires (but climate crisis is a myth, right? Right!).

Next thing she is going to say is, 'Attention all planets of the Solar Federation. We have everything under control.'

The Protests are Futile, the HK Government are akin to caretakers.

The "Borg" (aka CCP) are approaching.... there is no alternative.

HK Finance is moving to Japan ... apparently.

Just in case anyone forgets, the deal is

"One country, two systems."

Not, One country, two systems, until we say otherwise."

Or even better

Not "One country, two systems, until we say otherwise. 'Cause reasons."
