No matter who is right or wrong I’m sick of all the bullying. This country is becoming a dictatorship by an idiot. The repubs sit by blindly lying through their teeth to accommodate him. No matter what damage occurs.
We knew it was coming.
As soon as Boeing got in trouble Donnie had to attack Airbus. Without a degree in psychology, one can easily read Trump like an open book.
What a joke of an U.S. president

What an idiot. Go back to bankrupting your own companies.

Read my previous comments regarding US sanctions! More threats by Washington to put sanctions against so-called European allies and NATO members. When will NATO and the rest of Europe realise that the US has no friends, only US subjects. ANY nations that does not kowtow to the US is its enemy. When will NATO and other nations tell the US to go it alone? Alone, the US is a drop in the bucket, powerless. When will the nations of the globe get a backbone and stand up to US aggression and domination? Stop kowtowing to the bully.

Harvard and Yale have status.
Better than being fleeced by Trump University.

I clearly remember certain posters complaining about not doing correctly by our allies. Any comments on Trump doing his best to alienate our allies?

These country should just endure the tariffs from the US, and do trade deals among themselves. I'm sure it would compensate.
When a toddler has a tantrum, you don't try to reason with him. You lock him in his room until he quiets down.
Goodlucktoyou
He is just grumpy because his Boeing shares took a dive and now everybody will buy Airbus.

Not just subsidies, but direct connections to Trump and the Department of Defense.

Boeing (along with other big-war industries) has long been awarded billions of dollars in defense contracts by the US federal government. (Would US rightists call this relationship 'socialistic'?)

Neither side is clean on this issue.

I researched this a loooooong time ago so my information is sketchy...but...
The heart of it is that Europe thinks Boeing's ability to compete for military business is a benefit. The US thinks that the favorable conditions that Airbus operates under is a benefit. I've sided on the US on this, but I suppose it comes down to whether you feel the benefits are equal.
The way I see it, Boeing has a chance to compete for military projects, but that's not a guarantee. They could spend hundreds of millions going after new contracts and see other American companies get them. That's to say the right to compete includes the right to fail. BUT....if they do get a contract, they can get paid to develop things than they can then use in their commercial aircraft, which is huge.
Airbus cannot fail. The loan terms are extremely generous and they don't have to start paying back a loan if the plane/project is not financially successful. So if they build a bad plane, they don't have to pay for it. I believe there was also something about subsidies ending or reducing once the company became profitable, but they never ended them. So that's pretty huge, too.
You can say that both are a benefit so the problem is figuring out how unequal it is. I really can't say that I have the answer. Would you rather take the riskier route of access to new business, or the easier route of socialized losses?
Like I said I read about this a long time ago so if someone has more recent or accurate information please post it.

This president has given a new meaning to the term 'president'. It can be read using a plethora of unflattering words. I'll leave the choices up to the individual but I don't doubt he will be remembered nationally and internationally as a twisted non-leader.

Boeing is in trouble and will probably need a government bailout. It will be a lot more money than the EU has ever helped with Airbus! If the 737-800 Max goes away Boeing will be in the hole for over 500 billion dollars! So Donny is full of it when he says the EU is being "unfair" to the USA.
More news it is going to take a lot more than a software fix to repair the 737-800 Max!

It's interesting that Trump, the most dishonest politician in modern US history, has been able to attract so many like-minded followers.

GOOD!! Pushing the Europeans further from US influences but nearer to Russia and China! Hey, the Italians were smart to predict this is ! BRI destination is Rome or maybe Berlin, Paris..!!

Ok, but the WE stands by what he says.

I don't doubt he'll be re-elected in a landslide in 2020. Who's gonna beat him? Bernie? Kamala? Beto? Elizabeth? Joe? Cory? Amy? Pete?

I don’t mind, he paid his father back the loan, he didn’t give him the money as a present. So no, I don’t resent it. But just flat out pay for them, I wouldn’t.
bass4funk
That’s it and that’s the only thing liberals care about.
They're all ripoffs anyway.

Some, not all and the main problem is, so many lack basic real employable skills.

I would never pay for my kids education. If they want to go, they need to work for it.
And still became mega rich. Lol
bass4funk
Yes, according to liberals, they THINK but once again they don’t know
bass4funk
Well, there’s your problem right there, the NYT the sworn enemy of Trump said, it’s not true, he wrote in his book and said on multiple occasions on how he paid every single dime and nickel back to his father, so given the fact the NYT just hate Trump and everything he stands for, so I think it’s safe to say the NYT is once again full of crap.

Keep the pressure on, Mr. President. We're done being treated unfairly by the EU.
What a joke of an U.S. president
An U.S. president, eh? Hee hee!

I was sick of us being bullied for so many years as well, yeah, it does suck, don’t it?
If the country we’re becoming a dictatorship, Democrats would be all moving to Europe and fast! Remember, Trump is not forcing people to eat vegetables.
I would too, I mean, it would be stupid for him to support a European company. Come on now...optics, crazy, optics!
Even if you get a degree from Harvard or Yale, it’s at the end of the day a piece of paper where you paid a lot of money for it. Sounds pretty dumb and a rip-off to me.
