And it looks like not only will they remain, but there will be more common.
Yeah, they did.
-Clinton
Clinton’s administration successfully established a deal known as the Joint Framework Agreement which offered $4 billion worth of nuclear, energy, economic and diplomatic benefits in exchange for the halting of North Korea’s nuclear program in 1994.
-Bush
In 2007, an agreement was reached to send $400 million worth of fuel, food and other aid in exchange for North Korea shutting down its main nuclear reactor.
-Obama
Some more progress was made in 2012 when new leader Kim Jong Un agreed to halt nuclear tests in exchange for food aid. North Korea’s pursuit of nuclear weapons continued, however.
Trump gave Un enough propaganda and legitimacy in the eyes of the Korean people, that has enabled him to consolidate power as this very artice is explaining. Before that, Un was just a kid trying to justify his position. Trump justified it for him.

The difference with Trump is, the North Koreans didn’t get any relief from the sanctions, nor did they get any food, people are still dying by the thousands, the country has no infrastructure, more plot attempts on Kim’s life and disposing are becoming more evident. Kim consolidating power is a joke, he always had it, that’s the reason why he purged some key figures in his circle that were loyal to his father to have ultimate control the same as his father did before him. The point is and has always been the stone in Kim’s shoe is to get rid of those sanctions and that won’t happen and if he can’t feed his men on a constant basis, the security and peace of mind to retain power becomes harder and harder. Look at Venezuela, it’s just a matter of Tim before Maduro is gone, not overnight, may take time, but Kim’s life is not as secure as his father and grandfathers were.

NK has been under sanctions for decades
Once again the right shows they are entirely clueless as to anything about NK before Trump became president.
No they didn’t.

But he did so when Un demanded. What did the US gain from that? And what does the fact that they can be put back on change about his capitulation to Un’s demands?
Trump gets a C- for his work with NK.

Oh yeah, so many benefits. Like temporarily cancelling a military exercise that can be put back on at a moments notice? Oh, wait, maybe you mean the sanctions Trump 'gave' him. Yeah Kim sure raked him over the coals on that one...

When is the "Free World" going to put this Charactor in a Cookie Jar?

How? He got hit with the sanctions, he wants them lifted, every other President before Trump gave in to financial sanctions, this President didn’t and won’t. If Kim punched, Trump didn’t blink.
Not sanction relief that is the absolute MAIN thing that the NK wants. Even if he has his missiles, he doesn’t have a lot of money and it will only get worse for the guy.

Now, who thinks I'm the bestest leader in the universe?
Me too.

At least, North Korea never pretended to be friendly towards Japan. They are really coherent.
Alex80
This guy makes more sense both than South Korean and American leaders.
Ascissor
Judging from the pic, they like to start with a game of janken.
Goodlucktoyou
He is acting more and more like trump.

No. They probably do have them. How else could the government make people confirm their allegiance publicly? Most democracies don’t require people to vote.
No. We’d never hear of it.

I'd like to see one guy stand up and raise his hand and yell out, "I'd like to nominate my brother Charlie for Chairman!"
Of course he'd be skinned alive and have his arms, legs and head separated by a ballistic missile.
Toasted Heretic
Supreme Kim, eh?
Donald, I hope you're taking notes.
CrazyJoe
Kim worked Trump over like a punching bag, just like taking candy from a baby. He got all sorts of benefits from Trump without having to give up a single washer off one of his missiles.

I wonder how the Korean people feel a about this, particularly those in the South.
Deadforgood
"congratulations Kim on securing your spot as supreme ruler of all Korean people. Look at the people of NK waving Trump flags outside the election booth!"
Errr, wait, NK doesn't have election booths.
Bintaro
We should now expect a complimentary tweet from his BFF Donald J Trump.

Hilarious. Kim consolidates power even further. Is that possible?
geronimo2006
Great pic. Democracy in action. Kim gets the seat where he can see who's not voting with / for him.
