The difference with Trump is, the North Koreans didn’t get any relief from the sanctions, nor did they get any food, people are still dying by the thousands, the country has no infrastructure, more plot attempts on Kim’s life and disposing are becoming more evident. Kim consolidating power is a joke, he always had it, that’s the reason why he purged some key figures in his circle that were loyal to his father to have ultimate control the same as his father did before him. The point is and has always been the stone in Kim’s shoe is to get rid of those sanctions and that won’t happen and if he can’t feed his men on a constant basis, the security and peace of mind to retain power becomes harder and harder. Look at Venezuela, it’s just a matter of Tim before Maduro is gone, not overnight, may take time, but Kim’s life is not as secure as his father and grandfathers were.

Not sanction relief that is the absolute MAIN thing that the NK wants. Even if he has his missiles, he doesn’t have a lot of money and it will only get worse for the guy.
