It is time to be rid of the bloated, secretive , back stabbing , money sucking PM and his think tank troll army ?

'a very important obstacle'. Now there is an understatement. Damn the EU for making this such an issue. That border must remain open at all costs - it cost too many lives and the time of too many good men to stop the killing. Get out Boris - break the law if necessary and deal with the consequences later.

Mr Kipling, in 2018, Uk government official statistics shows 46,6 % of Uk’s total export went to the EU partners. Surely that is the number to look at because when exports decline that has an enforced impact on GDP

"Never mind all that, Johnson has been reported to the police by the Greater London Authority for misconduct in public office when he was mayor."

It seems that the globalist Left has ...

It seems? So you don't actually know? I'd guess not, going by the lack of substance in the rest of this self-righteous rant.

... the will of the people... the results of the 2016 election.

Funny that you should mention those in the same comment as those results had very little to do with the will of the people.

Either hold another referendum in order to clarify the issue...

Good idea. But there might be more Remainers this time round.

...or hold an election in order to create a Parliament that truly represents the British voters.

The results might be similar to the 2017 one. If you're expecting a landslide majority of pro-No Deal MPs to get elected you might be disappointed.

It isn't the EU making it an issue, it's the DUP who insist on having the border with the Republic of Ireland open and nixes any arrangement that puts a border between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, or treating NI differently in any way from the rest of the UK.

Says Arelene Foster, leader of the DUP; “Our whole raison d’être is the union."

Let's not forget that NI, Scotland and London never voted to leave in the first place.

it cost too many lives and the time of too many good men to stop the killing. Get out Boris - break the law if necessary

It did cost too many lives to stop the killing, but 'do or die' Bozo is not the one to see that it stays stopped. He'll likely go down in history as the short-term plonker PM who rekindled The Troubles and broke up not only the Tory Party but the UK.

Ireland should realize that it has never been a fully integrated part of the EU - and shares it's destiny with that of the UK. The two should really work together in order to sort this matter out. The EU should back off with their meddling too whilst this happens.

Ireland and the UK are not the same. It does not share its destiny with the UK, Partition was forced upon the Irish people a hundred years ago.

Whilst I'm at it... Irish Politicians who ally themselves or promote those "organisations" that are conducting non-legal activities, should themselves be banned from taking part in Politics in any form.

That would be pretty much every single party in the Republic and the occupied 6 counties. They have their roots in armed opposition to the British, and to each other (in the case of the Civil War).

As for NI, the political parties there (including the Unionist ones) all have links with violence.

So, that's not going to fly, I'm afraid.

The same should also go for the British side too... though there are Laws already in-place there, which are being used at the moment to take of certain individuals within the UK, which is not what I can see going on in Ireland....

Just see what happens if the British Govt attempts to re-introduce internment. Or attempts to interfere with any aspect of Irish sovereignty.

To be clear, I am not taking sides with the DUP to avoid any comments from our good Catholic friends who read this website.

And, as I'm sure you know well, not all Protestants support Unionist parties and not all Catholics support Nationalist parties.

In the Republic, there's a long history of Church of Ireland (Protestant) nationalists - the revolutionary Wolfe Tone and later on, Land League & Home Rule politician, Charles Stewart Parnell.

That border must remain open at all costs - it cost too many lives and the time of too many good men to stop the killing.

Men, women and children.

Either hold another referendum in order to clarify the issue

I thought your team didn't believe polls.

You realize that's what a referendum is right?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

If you must correct people constantly zichi - then I think you'll find its The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Also, in a recent poll...both remain and leave came out on top. Depends whether you read polls that the Telegraph or Guardian commission.

Also - remmeber that at the time of the Referendum it was non binding, it was passed into law, leading to Article 50 being exercised sometime later. So, The Liberal Democrats who protest that the people didn't vote ' to leave without a deal' - well, what a load of tosh. That question wasn't on the ballot paper.

Had I kept my UK vote - I would have voted to stay. Now, I'm a firm believer in Brexit in any form on October 31st. That would be democracy delivered as clearly no Government has a clear path out of this that would command a majority in the Commons.

Sorry Cleo - but it runs a little deeper than the DUP. Its part of the Good Friday agreement. To be clear, I am not taking sides with the DUP to avoid any comments from our good Catholic friends who read this website.

The Referendum was a poor decision to have to start with - with NONE of the important questions factored in during the campaign. It wasn't binding - MP's voted to make it binding and then Gina Miller first won her case to make any deal only permissible with a majority in the Commons and now the Benn act has made it (as it stands) illegal to leave on October 31st! The referendum result has been 'checked and balanced' enough in the Commons AND in Court.

I don't think you will find Boris is trying to rekindle the troubles at all. I may not technically agree with what he might just do - and ignore the court, or more likely persuade the EU to refuse us an extension but somebody has to put an end to this madness which has now consumed the UK for more than 3 years.

Agreed Toasted Heretic - with all that you say. Just to put that to rest, I really don't want to go off topic about this and I was just trying to be very simple about it. I'm not Irish - and therefore don't feel qualified to say too much.

Fair enough. It's dialogue, compromise and exchange of knowledge that leads to extraordinary things like the GFA.

I don't wish to see a sloppy Brexit jeopardize it.

They live on the mainland which helps.

I'll bet you she doesn't refer to it as "the mainland", mind ;-)

@Toasted Heretic: Now, I have to ask. Define a 'sloppy' Brexit.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

And just what percentage of the UK’s GDP goes to the EU?

I’ll save you the time on Google.... Its less than 1%

Never mind all that, Johnson has been reported to the police by the Greater London Authority for misconduct in public office when he was mayor.

Never mind all that, Johnson has been reported to the police by the Greater London Authority for misconduct in public office when he was mayor.

It seems that the globalist Left has the same solution every time they lose in a democratic election. Brexit wins so the globalists resist, delay, obstruct then eventually use the police powers of the state in their attempt to overturn the will of the people. Same thing is going on right now across the pond with Cortez and Pelosi’s use of the Congressional impeachment process to overturn the results of the 2016 election.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

"If you are a bunch of politicians and you say that we swear we are going to respect the result of a democratic vote and after you lose you say 'we don't want to respect that vote'. What do you expect will happen?"

Many elected politicians have chosen to spin, confuse, distort, and fight the will of the British people to leave the E.U.. And they chose to blame the other side for the failure to uphold the will of the British people.

Either hold another referendum in order to clarify the issue, or hold an election in order to create a Parliament that truly represents the British voters.

Simon Foston - Good idea. But there might be more Remainers this time round.

The results might be similar to the 2017 one. If you're expecting a landslide majority of pro-No Deal MPs to get elected you might be disappointed.

I would expect a new referendum to "clarify" the issue one way, or the other. I expect Parliament to abide by the will of the people. I want to see an end to this internal bickering, and politicking.

If you want to know on which side of the "leave/remain" issue I'm on, I'm on the side of DEMCRACY. The people voted, and elected politicians refuse to accept the result of that vote. I find that very disappointing.

If a majority of the people vote to remain, then G.B. should remain. If a majority of the people vote to leave, then G.B. should leave.

It is time to be rid of the bloated, secretive,money-sucking entity that the EU has become!
