"We are horrified that some 85,000 children in Yemen may have died because of the consequences of extreme hunger since the war began. For every child killed by bombs and bullets, dozens are dying from hunger and disease and it's entirely preventable,"

One of the things required for this horror to end is for US leaders to stand up to the Gulf oil and gas sheikh/kingdoms, acknowledge the miseries this war is causing, and withdraw all support for them.

But given Trump's ongoing support for MbS, it's unlikely the executive will lead any effort to end this nastiness that's gone on too long.

And given Trump's stated he needs the US to continue selling weapons to the Gulf oil and gas producers to boost the US economy, making the economy during his reign look better, there's little chance he'll do much to stop the carnage.

What's even more worrying is the charge that Trump, Jared and Ivanka are selling properties to Saudi royals, being bought off by those with blood on their hands.

Trump supports Saudi Arabia's barbaric cruelty of Yemen.

Money talks. Humanity is lost.

Using starvation and disease as a weapon of war is not just a war crime, but a crime against humanity.

I very much agree that the US (and other western countries) is complicit, but this crime against humanity started long before Trump.

this crime against humanity started long before Trump.

While that’s true, he’s now taken ownership by excusing the Saudi’s actions and admitting it's for money.

Trump sold those weapons to the Saudis, knowing fully how they would be used. Frankly, it's a disgrace.

I remember one of the many justifications for the Iraq debacle was concern over welfare of the children. Which was ironic, given Madeline Albright's heinous comments that sanctions in the 90s resulting in the deaths of half a million children was "worth it".

Now we hear the horrors of Yemen. I wonder if this is also worth it, this siding with the brutal Saudi Arabia?

Yeah, but all US presidents over the past several decades have been just as disgraceful, selling or giving weapons to the Saudis, Israelis, and other disgusting regimes.

Of course children die. Same thing in Syria
