The Nobel "Peace" Prize has been awarded to so many butchers and criminals that it hardly has any meaning now. Why single out Suu Kyi when mass murderers like Henry Kissinger and Yasser Arafat get a pass? Or the famous Obama Nobel, which was followed by countless drone attacks and CIA coups that have destroyed any semblance of order in the Middle East?

What is it about Suu Kyi that she is the only one being singled out? Hmmm...

What pass? You make it sound like nobody has criticised Arafat, Kissinger or Obama. The rightists blew a fuse about the Obama award ( the humour in giving him that award seemed to escape them - I thought it was a good joke ).

I remember reading a post here from a screaming rightist here complaining that Mandela shouldn't have been given the peace prize given his terrorist links.

Passes? Nah.

Criticizing is different from taking the prize away. Even worse, in Arafat's case, he was awarded the prize even after his crimes were well known. Honestly, look at the name of the prize. It's called a "peace" prize. You would think one of the minimum requirements would be that winners haven't slaughtered people before they receive it.

Not sure how? Why Suu got extra powers, Nobel don't give those.

Same in SA when Mandela as awarded his in conjunction with the AWB member who freed him.

Which of those did more to end Apartheid? The prisoner of the jailer who paved the way!? I was there at that time, elections were the most peaceful 3 days.

...they can apply (to be a) British citizen at any British embassy.

Hard to know where to start with this one. A bit breathtaking....

The Burmese don't want a non Burmese speaking Muslim caliphate in their own country and who can blame them?

Those poor self identified Rohingya may not be eligible, but they can go to the European Court of Human Right and argue as their parents are subject of former the British colony and they must entitle to British citizen by descent. Why not try? There are many Pro Bono human rights activist lawyers in Europe.

For fear of repeating myself, there is so much wrong here I don't know where to start. A quick internet search on UK citizenship will stop you from embarrassing yourself from posting wrong info.

Up to 300,000 people are being forced to move, their homes burnt (check YouTube) raped, butched are forced to run a gauntlet of land mines just to get to the border. While Kui proclaimes the government is protecting this minority....with land mines and shooting anyone upright. How heavy is that Nobel prize now.

This just clears all doubt of her not being biased on this issue. She definitely would not have a minority of muslims roaming and spreading their "ill faith " compared to Buddhism in her country! Warning signs were already being set up when she declared Myanmar as China's "blood brother".

By the way, anyone who parent was born in the former British Empire was a British subject and therefore they are entitled to be British citizens. Those poor Bengali Rohingya' s parent were born in former British ruled India (Bangladesh) and so they can apply British citizen at any British Embassy.

So much of this is incorrect I don't know where to start.

most of media are really biased or misinformed. they describe only suffering of Muslim victims to undermine the image of our Mother Suu and country. Even in this news, they neglect the origin of the conflict that involves attacks by ARSA muslim terrorist group. what media did is that, silent while terrorist attack to Myanmar, wait and watch until refugees fleeing, then describe Muslim victim as very pitiful people, grab the sympathy of world, that make worsen the conflict of Myanmar. finally, Myanmar will become the target of many terrorist groups. how cruel ! Reality is ARSA terrorist group attacked to many Myanmar police station and killed local people (Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, also Muslim who want to stay peacefully). Myanmar military is just defending and eliminating the terrorist. we have right to protect our country, of course we sympathy all the victim of war. many victims on both sides, wherever war and conflict occurred, the victim will flee to their safe area, after stabilizing it will be normal, our government and Mother Suu is trying the best to stabilize the situation. Many fake news are spread in the world, even #Turkey deputy prime minister also spread #fakenews and photos, imagine the rest ! it is neither human right nor religious issue but terrorist ,we should condemn terrorist, even Muslim societies from Myanmar declared condemnation to the terrorist attack,do not misunderstand our Mother Suu and country. In Myanmar, many Myanmar people are saying Mother Suu and her party NLD is very favor to Muslim, simultaneously, she has been criticizing blindly for not standing from Muslim's side , I feel sorry for our Mother Suu, Please be fair, investigate the ground situation ,stand for the truth,#save Myanmar from #terrorist attack and help for stabilizing the process,

lucabrasi.

Lucabrasi. The South Australian Senator Nik Xenophon' father was born in Cyprus former British Colony territory. However, Nik Xenonphon was born in Australia and he was British citizen by descent. Now he was confirmed as dual Australian - British citizen.

Those poor self identified Rohingya may not be eligible, but they can go to the European Court of Human Right and argue as their parents are subject of former the British colony and they must entitle to British citizen by descent. Why not try? There are many Pro Bono human rights activist lawyers in Europe.

The British Government always washes blood from its feet and hands after committing crime and then The British claimed they cleaned. Today, people suffering in Africa and Asia are created by the British colony government. The British had divided two communities and make them enemy each other. The British Government was great expectation of come back and control direct or indirect again in future.

Burma knows the dirty business of British and brought Royal Japanese Army and fought the British in WWII. However, the Japanese Government had broken the promise of Independent Burma. Burma, however, has its own Army the result of bringing the Japanese Army to Burma. Later, Burmese can confront the British Colony ruler and got independent..

The British Government hates of Burma wasn't hidden and the British had divided Burma territories and distributed to its loyal servants India and Islamic East Pakistan (Bangladesh). Today, the former British colony in Africa and Asia situation was more than what the British Government expected, before give them independent but the British can't handle it because it was huge. So British Government said they are working for peace and their hands are clean. I was not surprised but annoyed by the British Government's calling for UN Security Council because the British has always favor Muslim over Buddhist Burma. The British has a lot of interest in Middle East.

The ARSA was proxy of terrorist organizations of the Taliban and Al Qaida. You can check on Internet and you can find their claimed of brotherhood and supporting from ISIS, Taliban, Al Qaida and Bangladesh Government recognized as terrorist organization. That Islam terrorist organization was trying to get territory in Rakhine State and spread its Islamic terrorist network in South East Asia and connect with an Islamic terrorist organization from Philippine, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Dirty Foxy British has fallen to Islamic terrorist trap and I hope other Western Governments do not follow foolish British Government's path.

I hope the Japanese Government will stay away from bias and unjust against Burma. As my mother was Burmese and I have duty to defend my mother country and also I love Japan as my father country.

@Chop Chop. Repeating inaccuracies over and over again doesn't make them true.

Chop chop, kurisupisu, exactly right

Zaw lin, many are aware of the pro-muslim bias of the mainstream media and the travesty of the UN.

dont lose hope in the face of all the 'politically corect' posters on this site.

thankyou for your posts. Its good to hear the truth from burmese people.

Luddite. There's always room for argument. Why not try? There are many Pro Bono Human Rights lawyers out there. At least, they can force the dirty foxy British Government to accept them refugee. They were victims of British colonialism from the past. The British Government had stolen trillions of pounds worth of natural resources and made millions of Bengali Muslims slaves from former British India. The British Government must take care of these victims of bad British colonialism.

This f course she's too busy to attend any pesky UN meetings, there's still half a million Rohingya to butcher! History will judge this disappointing woman very harshly, what a shame

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Cricky. Not 300,000. Latest UN news was 400,000. These peoples from UN know how 100,000 a day flee to Bangladesh border look like?

The UN and OHCHR are exaggerated and obviously the Muslim rule UN was discriminating against Buddhist. The UN and Human Rights bosses didn't mention about many Buddhists and Hindus villages and Monasteries were destroyed by Bengali Rohingya Muslim terrorist villagers and ARSA foreign terrorists.

The UN and UN OHCHR High Commissioner Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein have giving misinformation to UN Security Counciland the world. The UN was becoming proxy organization of OIC (The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) and corrupt.

Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein has completely ignored the ARSA was the Taliban and Al Qaida link terrorist organization and that was financial supported by Governments and Royal Families' members from Middle East.

Do you think Burma will kneel to pressure from the Muslim lead United Nation? Never!

The Buddhist peoples are not saints, and they will fight back if they have to.

Bangladesh has responsible for its former citizens as well as newly claimed to be Rohingya from Bangladesh as well.

The Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), led by Attaullah Abu Ammar Jununi – who was born in Pakistan and raised in Saudi Arab. He and his ARSA members were trained by the Taliban and Al Qaida as well as Pakistani Intelligence in Pakistan border with Afghanistan.

Burmese Government has right to defend it country from foreign terrorist group incursion. There's no apology for that from Burmese peoples.

By the way, anyone who parent was born in the former British Empire was a British subject and therefore they are entitled to be British citizens. Those poor Bengali Rohingya' s parent were born in former British ruled India (Bangladesh) and so they can apply British citizen at any British Embassy.
