That's provbabl why I like him, I'm more a centerist myself, exactly like Mayor Pete.

At least you can identify the differences and are not politically illiterate like some.

I have nothing against him personally, it's just his politics aren't mine. Some are concerned about his lack of political experience, and this is important but then again, he's been a mayor. Trump had no political experience, whatsoever.

I dont care about the GDP. There are numerous articles claiming it is broken or is not an accurate reflection of economic success. Of course all written to try to downplay when the Trump GDP was going through the roof.

Now that the Trump GDP is just good, not great, I guess it is back to the measuring standard liberals want to use.

Yes I did.I all money outside living expenses are in retirement fund and US stocks. also put 5 figures on a Trump win in 2016 at 7:1 odds.

You are only a true Trump2ANRA person if you put every penny to your name in American stocks - otherwise all talk and no action.

I don’t understand why you would think I should vote Democrat if the economy dies down due to external worldwide factors not Trump policies. Just a buying opportunity.

"But What About" - the standard Trump supporter reply when they have no facts.

Do you ever talk about your own candidates? every topic just becomes a Trump attack. How do you feel about mayor Pete or about Bernie praising Castro and being unable yo say how to pay for all of his promises?

I'll talk about whoever I choose to talk about - Trump hasn't taken that Constitutional right away yet...

So how about the fact that the Dept of Commerce GDP numbers show the US economy contracting from 2018 to 2019?

https://www.bea.gov/data/gdp/gross-domestic-product

Or how about the CBO saying 2020 GDP will be even lower than 2019?

Buttigieg is hardly left. He's a centerist, if anything

Buttigieg is hardly left. He's a centerist, if anything

He’s definitely not a centrist, pragmatic.....depends, but a centrist, no.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

if the economy crashes because all your candidates are nonsense?

I can't control the economy. I'm not God. Did you put ALL your money in American stocks? You are only a true Trump2ANRA person if you put every penny to your name in American stocks - otherwise all talk and no action. But what good is the Trump economy when any American can literally lose their house over overburdening medical debt? And medical costs keep going up and up. Trump voters don't realize this since they are on government healthcare in Japan.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Is Bloomberg exempt from criticism for what he says?

Clearly not. He's from the same elitist pool as Trump. Both should stay away from politics.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

So your only hope to win is if the economy crashes because all your candidates are nonsense?

Even then, Bernie is president and he can’t do anything to revive the economy due to spending 90 trillion dollars on free stuff for millennials.

So? You love leaks about Trump saying things. Is Bloomberg exempt from criticism for what he says?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

every topic just becomes a Trump attack

TrumpCare? It's a fact that it is failing. Medical costs are rising and rising and threatening all this new American wealth.

Bloomberg has too many leaked audio tapes of him saying bad things

So?

its great watching Dems try to destroy each other though.

It depends on the Trump economy. What if there is a crash (and Medical costs keep going up and up and up).

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Pete is winning nowhere. He is getting 10 percent in most states polls. Bloomberg has too many leaked audio tapes of him saying bad things plus he is a supposedly Republican.

bernie lost Florida to Trump with his Castro praise.

its great watching Dems try to destroy each other though.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

All this talk about debt - doesn't Congress approve all spending plans?  and doesn't the majority of pork come from them?

As for the Dems, they lurch from one absurd situation to the next. Mayor Mike is a farce.  Pete is a fake.

Seems Bernie is their man.  Unless they try to sabotage him (again).

On the trail: Buttigieg heckled, Bloomberg office tagged with 'oligarch' graffiti

Well, now we know why Trump is supporting and intervening on behalf of his self-admitted "dirty trickster" Roger Stone...

He probably hatched more schemes yet to be executed before he was hauled away.

Expect more dirty tricks from Trump supporters...

In the coming years we will see spending cuts to pay down the debt.

And how do Americans pay down their medical debt? Get their houses seized? Also GDP is not headed in the right direction.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I wonder what the left thinks of their own tactics when they’re used on them by their own.

Like Pete, marching with workers and the having to run away from lefty protestors.

Buttigieg is hardly left. He's a centerist, if anything.

"While we do not know who is directly responsible, we do know Senator Bernie Sanders and his campaign have repeatedly invoked this language, and the word 'oligarch' specifically when discussing Mike Bloomberg," Bloomberg campaign manager Kevin Sheekey said in a statement. "This needs to end before someone gets hurt."

Yes, won't somebody please think about the oligarchs!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

they are helping to fuel the economy which has more people working and incomes rising

All to be lost in the case of a single hospital visit where people literally lose their houses over medical debt. TrumpCare is failing. Medical costs going up and up and up. What's the point of all this TrumpWealth when you can lose it so easily? Also TrumpNRA2A people, if you are so positive about the economy have you put all your savings into the American stock market? Down to the last penny? If not then you are not a true Trump person. You must believe there will never be a crash under Trump. Don't just talk about it. Put ALL your money on it.

Worrying about what? The guy has turned the economy around, not got us in any new wars and is drawing down troops in Afghanistan and Syria.

worrying that the guy that they hate so much that just hearing his name sends them into hysteria is going to get re-elected because they’re chosen ‘saviors’ are all bumbling fools.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

They're not being used against "their own". Bloomberg is a lifelong Republican, now working a grift to try and deny Sanders, and thankfully seems to be failing miserably.

Maybe, but the job is done and the Democrat party is more divided Then it’s ever been in history and now you have to moderate Democrats versus the socialist and the establish moderates are going to try to do whatever they can to stop Bernie, even if that includes laying down with Bloomberg and giving up what little scruples they had left

Buttigieg is a smart guy, but seems devoid of principles. All style, no substance.

Only Bernie and Warren, among the current field, could beat Trump,

Warren couldn’t beat Trump on her best day and Bernie, you just have to decide, you either want a capitalist running the country or you want to destroy it and have a socialist run it, I have a very strong feeling given the history of the incumbent we will all be spared of marching in goose steps.

and of the two Bernie seems best placed to win the nomination.

Let’s hope so.

HA! That the funniest joke I have heard all week!

You must not get out much.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

. I said we can handle the $23 trillion debt as despite the tax cuts, they are helping to fuel the economy which has more people working and incomes rising, and tax revenues are at an all time high. In the coming years we will see spending cuts to pay down the debt.

How much more debt can be handled? As much as Trump racks up and then go back to saying it’ll beggar future generations when a Democrat gets in?

This does seem to be the approach of ‘fiscal conservatives’ from the right.

Any idea when the debt will be paid off or at least reduced? Trump said he’d balance the books.

In the coming years we will see spending cuts to pay down the debt.

Where? Everyone wants to cut the debt but no one wants to give anything up. Ask a senior citizen if he is OK with cutting Medicare, or if a teacher willing to cut education, or if a solider willing to cut the military, or ...

1 ( +3 / -2 )

One attack on socialists is that they spend too much. Deficits and debts are a problem.

Don’t worry - Trump almost wiped out fiscal conservatism. You yourself told us it doesn’t matter.

Don't put words in my mouth. I am concerned about the debt. Andrew Yang would even clobber this Dimwit

Too funny!

Bernie looks like he has the upper hand but Buttigieg and Warren are the two I'm leaning towards for now.

Warren's finished. Don't count out Bloomberg just because Warren went after him in a debate.

And yet the Democrat candidates are screwing it up so bad, the guy still has a good chance of winning. You should stop gloating and start worrying.

Worrying about what? The guy has turned the economy around, not got us in any new wars and is drawing down troops in Afghanistan and Syria.

But then there's all those Cuban exiles down in Florida...

Those Cuban exiles were denied the privilege of lording over the Cuban populace like little kings under Batista and they will be forever bitter about it. To hell with those people. I am no fan of Castro but even less a fan of that murdering dictator and U.S. government puppet Batista.

we do know Senator Bernie Sanders and his campaign have repeatedly invoked this language, and the word 'oligarch' specifically when discussing Mike Bloomberg,"

I was calling Bloomberg an oligarch from the start and this is the first time I heard Sanders said it even once. This is not "language". Its the obvious truth. The man should have "oligarch" tattooed to his oligarch forehead.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Still lots of time left. Should be a fun ride. Bernie looks like he has the upper hand but Buttigieg and Warren are the two I'm leaning towards for now.

Fast food jobs should not be a career choice.

Most people doing these jobs have no other choice.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

78 year old crazy socialist Sanders

One attack on socialists is that they spend too much. Deficits and debts are a problem.

Don’t worry - Trump almost wiped out fiscal conservatism. You yourself told us it doesn’t matter.

Mayor Pete mentioned the debt in case there are any fiscal conservative right wingers here still bothered about spending.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

The Democrats are so doomed. Their top 4 candidates are 78 year old crazy socialist Sanders, Bloomberg ( need i say more? ) Biden ( need I say more? ) and Buttigieg, the fakest candidate in the race.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Wow, as long as the piece is not somehow circling back to Trump, we actually get some honest writing here. Instead of the usual JT posts where everything is rainbows and unicorns for the Dem side and “sympathy for the devil” starts playing through your device whenever Trump is mentioned, we actually get some positive and negative reports from the street about the Dems.

I think Buttwhatever is shooting himself in the foot with this $15 minimum wage. Talk about lowering your standards for a few votes. Fast food jobs should not be a career choice. At least with Sanders we know he will try to go after the banksters and Wall Street. This, of course, goes against everything about the Democrat Party, though many prefer the rainbows and unicorns version.

Will be very interesting to see this play out in the next 7 months.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Readers, please spell candidates' names correctly.

Sadly, this is why we're going to see Trump in the White House for another 4 years...

Democrats are too busy trying to wreck each other than to get elected.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Looks like we might have two anti-globalists running against each other for the presidency. Good times

What exactly do you mean by globalist?

"While we do not know who is directly responsible, we do know Senator Bernie Sanders and his campaign have repeatedly invoked this language, and the word 'oligarch' specifically when discussing Mike Bloomberg," Bloomberg campaign manager Kevin Sheekey said in a statement.

Nice display of ignorance.

"I'm hoping that in the future, Senator Sanders will take time to speak to some of my constituents before he decides to sing the praises of a murderous tyrant like Fidel Castro," said Representative Donna Shalala, on Twitter

Sanders wasn’t “singing the praises” ofCastro, he was pointing out the dangers of binary thinking and that Castro did some good.

Hitler institutes kindergartens and expressways, but acknowledging that is in no way praising Hitler; it’s being intellectually honest.
