Uh, Ric Grenell would like his glass ceiling back.

The distinction is that Grenell was never confirmed by the Senate.

Not tomention Mayor Pete is wholely unqualified for this level of responsibility

What makes you say that?

It amazes me how individuals that have nothing to say positive about each other, during political campaign, point out failure and contradiction and corruption of their opponents, pretending to show themselves as the moral high grounder, can so suddenly and publicly compromise their own credibility by taking appointment with the very individual that they demonized only months ago in nomination 'debate'. I guess one of the qualifications to political office is not having a backbone. The other being a whore.

I don't recall Mr. Buttigieg demonizing any of the other Democratic candidates during the primary elections. He ran an upbeat and positive campaign, at least that is my recollection and didn't resort to disparaging anyone's character.

Mr. Buttigieg is a very intelligent, articulate man who'll represent all people at all economic levels across the country. It's reassuring to see people of his caliber in the cabinet instead of billionaires who got their positions because of their financial contributions to Trump.

I'm glad to see him getting some federal governing experience under his belt. That'll help him down the line, for sure.

It's part of American Exceptionalism, where the elites are not expected to take responsibilities for their actions or words, because they're American, and that's Exceptional.

Senate confirmation is a pretty minor distinction. Amb. Grenell was a cabinet member.

Also, what has Mayor Pete done in his life to prepare for managing a department with 60,000 employees and a 70 Billion dollar budget? His city had total employment of about 1,000 and $300 million. He has no experience in transportation or railway or shipping that I can see. Dont get me wrong, he seems like a sharp young man, but in no way ready for this level of position. You cant tell me that he is even close to the most qualified person to run this department.

Wall Street Pete's reward for dropping out of the primary race for President and helping Biden to beat Sanders. Just another neo-liberal hack pretending to be a progressive. More neo-liberal identity politics, because he is gay you can‘t question his policies or you will be called homophobic.
