"Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, whose government pledged $800 million,"

Good job, PM Suga!

My Japanese partner is so angry about this. Our tax is very high, where does the money go that we pay?

really? the Japanese need these shots! 25% are in poverty. Sometimes the government looks over the poor to send money to other countries just to show the UN they care. booo!

Great! So how much more debt did you put on these poor countries that will forever be paying this back?

Some of these poor countries seem to be doing no too bad, as they've already been taking ivermectin as a prophylactic against parasitic diseases. But you're not supposed toileting know about that.

If you have countries that have used the drug and have done horribly against the pandemic, and you have African countries that have done relatively well even without mass use of ivermectin then it is much more likely the apparent relationship is spurious, Your own reference clearly recognizes their study is only enough to hint at this possibility but did not do the work to actually substantiate the claim.

There is a reason why the scientific consensus is that there is need for better evidence for ivermectin before a recommendation can be issued.

The problem is that likely thanks to pressure from the pharma industry, large-scale studies are not permitted to go ahead either due to governments refusing funding or outright making it illegal for doctors, at least in developed countries, to prescribe it. That's less likely case in developing countries. The only reason these vaccines were allowed to go on the market this early is that it had to be shown that there were no other existing treatments. So they had to demonise any cheap potential existing competition to the mRNA etc vaccines for the rivers of gold to flow. Hence the PR campaigns to smear ivermectin, HCQ and anyone with the temerity to question the line. As result there have been dodgy papers like the Lancet study last year attempting to set up cheap rivals to fail in order to to discredit them. Probably why you're here. But you'll just deny it as usual.
